Genetically Twisted Freaks
It is one of the few primitive emotions that drive mankind to action. Often times what is most feared is what is not understood. If you cannot understand something, if you cannot know or comprehend the dynamics of a thing, then it drives you to fear. What does mankind do when afraid of something it doesn't understand? It lashes out for its own inadequacies at the thing it does not understand. Sometimes, mankind gets lucky, and it can over power that which it does not understand. Sometimes, that which it does not understand, fights back.

Something began to appear that mankind did not understand. Taking the form of those among them. Mutants, freaks, with natural abilities beyond those of mankind. Some were physical, some were mental, some were obvious, some were subtle, but never the less, all of them were feared.

Player Nickname: Cassie
Contact: Well, I registered with my email... but my AIM is mshigesaku.
How did you find us?: I was gonna register on the old board... but that didn't work out (hackers are stupid), so I got the link from this one through one of the co-admins.
Under 18 or over 18?:So if I said I was under 18 and you found out I was lying you'd remove me from the site? I'm over 18, promise ^^;;

Adorn Your Uniform:

Character Name: Heather Alice Thompson
Nick names: Ali, Acid
Codename: Project M-243
Age: 22
Race: Mutant
Faction: Project M

What's in the Mirror:

Skin Tone: She has a rather pale skin tone, nearing that of 'white,' almost as if a mutation itself.
Hair Color and Texture: Her hair is a dark brown, and usually is kept in a tight ponytail that ends just below her shoulders.
Eye Color: They used to be a beautiful hazel color, and, at times they do look like that. However, due to her mutation, it makes both eyes look faded, like an unsaturated gray. The only time her hazel eyes come out is when her acid is circulating throughout her whole body.
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 129 lbs.

Portrait: No picture to have, therefore I leave it be.

Painted Picture: Heather is far from the fragile young woman she puts herself out to be. Standing proud at just over five and a half feet, she exhibits some muscle tone to her body, though clearly not enough to match a body builder. This gives off the illusion that she is a delicate rose, with thorns that pack quite a wallop. However, upon first glance, she tends to look a bit on the unhealthy side, due to mutation. Suffice to say, the healthier she looks, the more active she is going to become.

Despite her mutation, she is far from the elderly old lady she could potentially become in a matter of hours. Her skin stays pure, though always an unhealthy pallor. It is nowhere near the pale white of a piece of paper, but, due to the pigment becoming burned in acidity, it fluctuates as much as her eyes, or the rest of her body for that matter. It of course depends on how much she is circulating her acid through her body.

When out on the streets, she is normally seen wearing a conservative clothing, with colors dependent on either what she grabs first or what is left for her. Most of the time her clothing will clash due to this, but that almost went without saying. She also wears a pair of dark sunglasses, to mask the color of her eyes to the world. However, she is rarely ever seen wearing this type of clothing due to the amount of public espionage she does (very little.) The only other thing of note is that she does not carry around her usual metal cane on these excursions, instead opting for a wood one, aiding to the belief that she is more an 'innocent blind person' than anything else.

She obviously has her own Project M uniform. This uniform consists of a solid black leather one piece, no sleeved and short legged suit, lined with a deep green, almost black color. Above the suit she wears a black jacket that has the Project M symbol on it's breast pocket. The sleeves are rolled up to her elbows most of the time, save for moments where she has to hide any bloody wounds. She also wears a pair of black, ankle high combat boots and, on her left arm, a fingerless glove. Most of this is made out of material created to withstand any form of pH level, therefore keeping it on her body when she needs it. Despite the fact that she is usually around people who are aware of her mutation, she wears her black sunglasses while in these clothes too.

Troublesome thoughts:

What does your character think about the rebellion?: The members of the rebellion are scum who need to be wiped from the Earth.
What do you think about the government action?: The government is just 'wiping the scum from the Earth.' Don't you see a trend?
Regarding the Mutant Dilemma: They are equal. Though educated to believe that mutants are inferior to humans, Heather has enough of a brain to know that if humans were superior, they would not have to rely on mutants to flush out the filth, but on the flip side if mutants were superior, then they would not allow themselves to be controlled as they do in Project M.
Regarding Human Nature:: There is no real 'good and evil' when it comes to a human or a mutant as is. They make themselves to be who they are based on their childhood and their own thoughts. It does not matter if their mutation is set to kill others. If they have enough of a mind, they will overcome it.
Religious: She was never raised to believe that religion made a person, and therefore is questioning her own religion, or at least was before she joined Project M. Now it does not even cross her mind.

Beautiful crazy mind: Heather is, to say the least, an enigma, her true nature shrouded behind the black sunglasses she wears. To the outward eye, she is determined, refusing to give up. She is dedicated, stubborn, and throws out the 'tough and rumble' front. It is all she thinks people really want to hear, and it is what her parents taught their only daughter when she was still living with them.

Deep inside, however, she does not feel that way. She tends to keep pushing herself because of her family pride. However, there are times where she just wants to lie down and wait for the end of her life to come. When it does not, she gets up and resumes her day, no matter what. Some would say she is suffering from a mild depression, but she would say that it is just a mild case of brain fart.

Despite all this, she has a rather snarky side to her. When she gets a little ticked off, she tends to have a rather passive aggressive behavior. One would call it her 'acid tongue,' no pun intended. Rare are these times, however, and even rarer are the times where she is just frank about how much someone has just ticked her off. It seems to be hard to do so, piss her off anyways. Even if she seems angry, she most likely will not be, just putting on the front to scare away whatever it is that is making her mildly uncomfortable.

She also has a side of her that enjoys watching people think they need to help her. She gets to see more than a normal blind person, and has since been trained to deal with public locations without much of a hassle, so it is rather pointless for someone to help out. It brings out a sort of sadistic side to her, when she manipulates people as such. It is almost as if she is doing a scientific experiment on people, to see how far she can really push them.

She tends to like hiding things, mainly from who consider themselves her 'friends,' or who she considers 'friends.' Even if she seems like she is dedicated to the Project M cause, there is something about it that just irks her. She believes Project M to be the solution to the problem, but she was always taught that there were always better solutions.

Mutant world:

Level: Gamma (is that right?)
Power Name: Acid Generation [Blood]//Mild Telepathy

Wild Evolution: All of Heather's conditions come from the following power. These conditions include blindness, her eye color, and her telepathy. This list is not exhaustible by any means and can, at any time, cause more ailments to her body and/or mind.

Acid in the Blood Heather has an ability that seems to 'screw with her blood,' more or less. There is a form of acid buried deep in her body that comes with hideous side effects. Though she did not have it exactly at birth, it was oddly close, and therefore made childhood rather painful. It collects in her stomach and near her eyes, most especially when she is at rest, causing complications in both areas. This also effects various other physical aspects. Sleep is hard for her after an hour or so, and she seems to put herself at some form of constant motion.

This mutation does not go without its benefits, however. Though affected by her own acid, she cannot be affected by any other acid known to man. Instead of burning on contact, her skin will absorb the acid, and collect it into her body. There, her own acids will convert any foreign acidic substance with a pH above stomach acid into her own blood acid. For this matter, if she were to be cut open, her acid could eat through anything from paper to human body parts to some forms of metal, depending on how concentrated the acid is in her system.

Just because she has this immunity, however, does not mean she does not have her own problems now. This blood acid is what caused her blindness, and it causes many other things to happen as well. Not even twenty two years of life could overcome any of these curses. If she does not exercise, her hearing starts to go first, followed by taste and touch receptors, depending on how much and where the acid develops. This is easy enough to remedy with simple blood circulation, as long as she exercises enough to clear it out. Hours causes some deterioration. Days without exercise can cause complications so bad that she soon becomes 'unfixible.' After about two weeks of little to no exercise, and she could quite literally die.

Even with exercise, she has a weak sense of smell and touch. In order to smell something, she either has to get utterly close to it, or it has to give off such a strong aroma that it might as well not matter where she is in a room. In order to properly feel anything, she has to press against a surface, and this in itself can cause some rather interesting issues.

Third Party Sight: Manifested during puberty, maybe as an adaptation to her other ability, or an extension of her own eyesight, she has the ability to see through other peoples' eyes. It is a low level telepathic ability that cannot be sensed by other telepaths unless they are looking for it, or something rather similar. She only has basic control over who's sight she's using, and these abilities are easily blocked by the 'victim' closing their eyes, or, if they were a telepath or trained in the art of pushing, push her out of their mind. She has absolutely no resistance to mind blocks (she has yet to develop that on her own), and cannot get past a decent telepath who was very aware of their surroundings and any possibility of even a low level 'invasion.' Obviously all she sees is what the person sees, so they could throw her off as well by looking in a completely opposite direction, but that also comes with awareness. She also cannot see color with this ability. It is all in black, white, and gray for her.

Project M Enhancement: It goes without saying that on her own, Heather is not good enough for the Project. Through various scientific test and medical surgeries, Heather can only sweat through both of her arms, more heavily in her right arm. This arm is surgically attached to a mechanical device that covers from shoulder to fingertips, and looks to be about twice as big as her real arm. This mechanism has special tubes that hook up into her arm which, when activated, transfer the acid from her blood to her sweat, a process that can only be done for a short period of time before it starts to deteriorate her arm. The process ends with Heather expelling the new 'acid sweat' through the designated holes, which open and propel the liquid outwards towards her target.

This process requires that she actually sweat most of the time. The sweat does not accumulate somewhere within the mechanism, but either is shot out from the spaces located either below or above her wrist, or drip through the device itself, and only she can mix the sweat and the acid together through specially trained muscle spasms.

When she runs out of sweat, she can still use the arm for her abilities. Instead of sweat, however, she cuts right into her blood supply.

Other Quirks: Obviously, she cannot spill her blood all over the place, no matter how much acid is in it. She only has a certain amount, of course, like everyone else in the world. Also, because of her strange blood make up, it is unknown which blood type she has, if at all, and her blood cannot be replaced except for by someone who has quite a similar blood make up.

Because her sweat glands were, for the most part, closed up, except around her arms, she expels a whole lot of sweat through both right and left arms. This sweat is normal sweat that is not laden with her acid, and therefore completely harmless.

Protect me:

Weapons: The only thing that could be considered a 'weapon' (she does not take it into combat with her, but it's nice to list anyways), is her metal cane, which she uses to make sure she's not running into anything dangerous.
Skills: She is skilled in her powers, for one. Obviously if she had a problem in her early years that she could fix, she has since fixed it. As for combat skills, she has learned a style of martial arts that channels her energy into her punches (for a more powerful acidy punch.) She is far from a martial master, but she can hold her own in a fight at the very least.

Where it ties come down too:

Parents: Tiffany [Rosetta] Thompson (Mother), Patrick Thompson (Father)
Siblings: None
Marital Status: Single
Other Family: Alice Thompson (Grandmother), other various extended family members that do not merit much mention

Hometown:
Military Experience: She herself does not have any military experience, just a military tie.
Criminal Record: No
Education History: No real honors in school.

Memoir: Heather was born to Tiffany Rosetta and Patrick Thompson out of wedlock. After a shotgun wedding, the young couple was officially a family along with their daughter. The girl seemed to be alright when they moved into the military housing Patrick was given as part of his new army contract (one has to make money somehow, after all), and she seemed fine for a few months. However, it was soon discovered that she was blind, after she was found not to react to things the same way babies with sight did. Despite the anti-mutant aura that the house brought with it, and even after Heather's original pigment left her eyes, her parents deemed it a normal occurrence and led their lives as normal, with the exception of having to alter their plans for their child's new condition.

She was isolated after that, home schooled by her mother, taught only what the couple knew. Birthdays were spent without friends, and she was never invited to sleepovers. The only friends she had were her schoolbooks and whatever stuffed animal her parents went out and got for her. Outside time was kept to a minimum, and the only other people she interacted with were in her extended family. Indeed life was lonely for Heather, who yearned to know what it was like to be outside.

She got her chance at the age of 15, when both of her parents were out. Despite the explicit instructions to stay inside, she disobeyed them, for the very first time of her life, and left the house. She had only meant it for a few moments, just to feel the outside she had read about, but there were, of course, other people outside, going about their business like nothing was wrong. No one had ever seen Heather outside of her home, and, by the time she had reached that age, she was merely a whisper in the wind. So naturally, those who had lived in the area as long as the Thompsons (they were few in number) were whispering about the 'Thompson Ghost,' and those who did not know any better either stayed out of it or ventured for a slightly closer look at the frail girl.

As she was exploring the first few steps outside of her house, she fell off of the first step of her house, and down onto the nice walkway that her mother had worked so hard to beautify. It was the first time she had ever experienced bleeding, and it was a painful experience. It was not much blood that flowed out from her knee, but it was enough for her to experience the burning agony of her own bodily acid. Having never experienced this before, she was immediately in tears, and one of the neighbors decided that she was merely a small girl who knew no better. He came over to examine the skinned knee, and tried to calm the girl down, who was torn between trying to stop crying and figuring out what was making it burn so much.

Whether it have been because she was put through so much emotional stress or she never bothered thinking about seeing things, her secondary power manifested itself at that moment. Suddenly, she was seeing, and she had no idea why, or how. Naturally, she was freaked out, as any fifteen year old girl would be, and lashed out at the man who was trying to help. Luckily for the girl, who was too scared to realize what was really going on, and for the man, who was too naive to notice that the girl in front of him was ailing from something other than just a skinned knee, Heather's parents came home, with just enough time to snatch the girl away from the man and back into the safety of her own home.

When her parents tried to patch up the skinned knee, nothing would make it get better, and it seemed as if the knee itself was eating itself from the inside out. They tried everything from a simple bandaid to gauze, and, when they found out that none of those methods worked, they took her to a hospital, where she was examined, poked, prodded, and tested on until a doctor finally came one simple conclusion.

She was a mutant.

It was this stunning revelation that caused her parents to panic. How could they give birth to a freak, especially one as freakish as their daughter? Why were they stuck with her? Why not some other family? Where could they put her so that she was not associated with them anymore? She was a freak, and she was going to soil the Thompson name, after all. Why keep a freakish daughter when they could potentially have some normal children?

They found out where they were going to put her when Project M came to their doorstep. She was a mutant with potential, and if her parents did not want her, then Project M would take her and make her a machine to the government's purposes. Her parents happily consented to allowing her to be taken away, which closed one chapter in her life and started another.

She was registered into the program almost immediately, and she was examined, poked, prodded some more, until the government found out exactly how her powers worked. Then came the series of painful surgeries, which rerouted her body's sweat glands to both of her arms, and when time came to figure out how much budget they had to put into this, they rerouted her sweat glands again, this time mostly around her right arm. Then they followed it up by attaching surgical tubes into her arm, and encasing the whole thing into the mechanism she uses now.

It was only then would they properly train her. Registered as Project M-243 (though more affectionately named Acid by herself), she was trained to use her new fist as a weapon, an outlet for her powers. Like many of the other Project numbers, she was re-educated. It was more of an education to her, considering she had so much to learn.

She has been in the Project since the age of 16, and has been a valuable asset to them ever since.

Make the goal:

RP sample: It's a mite on the short side, but I promise that most of the posts here will NOT be this short. Scenario is that mah character, who's afraid of snakes, just found out she's a Parselmouth. Harry Potter board, obviously.

QUOTE
Hitomi had been lounging around the grounds, peacefully singing her song while eating some pocky, fresh from her mother, after the visit to her family. It took a lot of reassuring and a lot of sweets (mainly in the pocky category, of course), but Hitomi was back to being herself again and had returned just in time to make sure all of her drunken fifth year “friends” were not... well, drunk.

As she was lounging, she noted the grass moving back and forth, sort of like something was moving through it. Normally, snakes didn't bother her... as long as they were far, far away from her general proximity. However, this one spoke to her, too...

"Hello..."

She didn't notice it was the snake talking, either. She honestly thought that there was some small first year talking to her, trying to be funny.

"Who's there?" she asked, though her question came out in a sort of slithery... snakelike... talk, as opposed to human speak.

"That isss... a good quessstion..."

And, following much more in the hiss-and-panic category, she found herself holding out a small garden snake, running up to Professor Kavernik's office.

"Professor! Professor!"

Knocking on the door with her free hand, she started to jump around and look rather silly... whether it was from the snake or the fact that it spoke to her... it didn't matter.

"Professor!"
