Genetically Twisted Freaks
It is one of the few primitive emotions that drive mankind to action. Often times what is most feared is what is not understood. If you cannot understand something, if you cannot know or comprehend the dynamics of a thing, then it drives you to fear. What does mankind do when afraid of something it doesn't understand? It lashes out for its own inadequacies at the thing it does not understand. Sometimes, mankind gets lucky, and it can over power that which it does not understand. Sometimes, that which it does not understand, fights back.

Something began to appear that mankind did not understand. Taking the form of those among them. Mutants, freaks, with natural abilities beyond those of mankind. Some were physical, some were mental, some were obvious, some were subtle, but never the less, all of them were feared.

Shadow loomed light fire over the darkened streets. The consumed it like it brush and rubble in it path and it ate it like a hungry monster waiting to take bit of anyone that entered the deep lustrous shadows. Only one proved brave enough to walk among the dead of night. Her skin as white as first winter snows. She something to be seen and something to be feared. Domino or Dom walked through the night. Her black lips were held firmly together she wondered the streets to gain an advantage against the enemy. Her body moved with grace and stealth as held on to the gun with strong hands and fingers.

Moving without a certain grace for her mind denied the grace of battle at this moment. Bending down her gloved hand touched the surface of the cobble stone to make her feel cold on contact. Looking out she glared at the darkness and disadvantage it cost her. Moving she turned to hear something and dipped further into the darkness hoping her skin would give her away. Feeling like she in danger she made sure that even her breathing was almost silent.

Breathing steady she listened and watched for movement s the dark. Licking her lips she waited for the right moment to move. Getting up with great speed she lifted her gun and moved her eyes like crazy watching for whoever was out there. "Who's there and what do you want?" She moved the gun around waiting for someone to speak so she would get a half decent aim. Her gun steadied in her hands as she heard another sound. "Don't move."

"Calm down it's just me." The voice was heard before the man's figure appeared. In fact, it didn't really appear, it only flashed for a second and then that golden and black mask was seen. That black and gold Venetian mask that he always wore when on active duty. Lately it seemed he was always on active duty. He didn't mind, it was for the cause, and there was no one better to orchestrate them and lead them than he.

"Or perhaps you don't know me. Perhaps I haven't introduce myself. Forgive me." He said as he became visible. "My name is Les Masque, most simply call me Masque, by the media and the government known and wanted terrorist, by my friends, allies, and family, I am simply a freedom fighter. According to your wishes I am not moving, but please do not try to fire that firearm, there's a telekinetic ready to sheild me, and a sniper ready to fire at you. I simply wish to offer you a chance to join us. Say no and I dissappear and leave, you'll not hear from me again. Say yes and you get to fire that weapon and so much more in order to help the cause of mutant civil rights. I know it's not much of a very formal speech, but I am pressed for time. I have a rather pressing engagement that needs to be attended to, so I need your answer quickly. Are you willing to become an agent of the Sons of Liberty?" He asked as the expressionless masked face looked to her as if awaiting her response.

He felt as though the speech had been rather straight forward and appropriate. It was not drawn out nor was it eloquent it simply was what it was and he didn't need the added excitement. He only had a few moments, luckily in this dark patch he wasn't detectable by sattelite, but he didn't trust his surroundings anymore than he trusted the government. He knew they had Project M out there looking for him, trying to assassinate him, trying to stop the resistance. He realized what would happen if mutants would allow their government to continue its ways. He needed to stop that from happening. He was there helping other mutants rise up for what they believed in. Hopefully Domino would be one of those to take a stand. If not, then he would have to find someone else.

Dom didn't move or lower the weapon. No one was here to tell 'yeah, it's fine." Without Nathan around there was no telling really who she could trust but he did tell her about the SOL. So, this was the Mask. Interesting. There wasn't much more then you could say about a man hidden by a mask but there really wasn't much to say about a girl that was only breed for government. "Domino," she stated.

Blue eyes narrowed as she let the gun rest at her side. A snipper only had a chance since his whereabouts where probably over her shoulder. "Nice threat, it might not work." It depended if it was in her field of vision or not. Watching the man she oped that he would how get her connected back with Cable since he was all for this group.

"Fine, I'll join. You reputation according to my boss is rather good. I think Nathan Summers will be delighted." She answered as she placed the gun in the holster. She still was not taking her eyes off of him. there was no way she was going to drop her ground over a man that wore a mask. He better start gaining her trust and fast.

The man smiled beneath his mask. "How fortunate, because I was in fact decieving you regarding the telekinetic and the sniper, they do not exist as such. You'll have to forgive me on this point but it is my experience others are less apt to fire at you when they believe themselves to be in mortal danger for doing it." He said with a slight nod of his head and a slender bow of his frame. He did not have a very slender frame, in fact he seemed to have a rather healthy one, but it was only a slight bow in order to demonstrate his manners. After all, the man lacked a facial expression with the mask hiding his every look.

Though there were of course advantages to being hidden. His eyes looked to her's from behind the mask, the contact lenses keeping the eyes black to her sight, not allowing her to see where his pupils were actually looking. A lesser man might have used such a talent to devious ends, but he used it for his own honorable intention. The eyes were a window to a man's soul, and he could not allow his soul to be made witness to others of his own various actions whether they be moral or not. In truth he questioned his own morals every now and again he was a man driven to immoral action for moral causes under moral constraints. He cannot admit that he enjoyed the life of a soldier, but he was good at it.

Even now his mind was working in various strategic ways. "Do you know the Liberty Theatre just outside the city? It's old, and closed down. Find it, knock on the stage and speak your name. I'll meet you there." He whispered as his head joined the rest of his body in disappearing from sight. He had quite the talent for that, and made sure that when leaving his footfalls made no sound, so as to keep himself from being followed. However, that was of very little use. Three soldiers stood at the exit of the alley, guns raised.

"Mutants, please stand down and put your arms in the air, you're surrounded! And you're hereby under arrest for registration and relocation according to the Relocation Act of the United States Government."

Relocation. She was never sure she understood that word in it's context. She understood the camps they were sent to, and she understood the word... but it seemed more like they were just forcing them into worse conditions. Relocation just made it sound a little nicer, that was all.

Nonetheless, she stood quietly behind the three soldiers, waiting for them to either pee their pants (they were trained not to do that, but she needed a laugh), or mow down the mutants in front of them. She may not have heard the discussion going on, but she knew there was more than one, even if she could not 'see' them both. They were sent after two, and her orders were to bring them back (if they were not exploding and/or dissolving right before her very eyes.) Whatever the case, she had a job to do, and she planned on doing it.

However, she had to lie in wait. No one seemed to be darting out, at least, not for the short length of time she was staring. Of course, she was staring through the eyes of another, the middle soldier, who had his eyes locked on the scene. Her brow was raised as she looked at... her, actually. She was most definitely a mutant, but what her powers were (other than her skin tone) was beyond Heather, and that was probably how it was going to stay unless the woman was going to use them.

There was not another mutant then. Either it was a glitch in the computer, or someone was playing 'hide and go seek.' She had a slight feeling that if it was a glitch, there would not be as many soldiers coming along for the ride as there were now. Since they were here, though, she just had to wait, and silent enough to either not get noticed, or get so eerily noticed that it was just uncomfortable.

Like a cat after a rat...

Dom was hardly in the mood for games an body language told the tale of unwanted relationship with the game. People weren't here and she simply nodded. "And I step out of the way and avoid the bullets." Really, she wasn't about to let this man walk all over her, "I'm one of Cable's team members. Don't underestimate me." Moving slightly away from him as she told where she should go and directions on how to get in Dom simply nodded and moved to leave.

Eyes widened at the sight of literal ambush. Shit. This wasn't good at all. He mind started to move as they gave their orders and Dom just gave them a look that foretold her disobedience to them. They were stupid if they thought they were going to bring her in. "I'm sorry, I believe in basic freedoms of the constitution." She kept walking making sure to watch the four of them. One fires and they won't know what happened.

Her gun was held tight and she waited for them to be fired upon. Stupid humans. Hearing the guns click she smirked, this was seriously going to be fun and she missed her work out today. Not that anyone could really tell she didn't her. Her perfect figure did tell any type of tale for forgetting about it. The eye surround in the dark spot turned white and as her powers activated.

[I'm assuming that I can take control of the soon to be dead and/or injured NPC coppers? If not I'll stop ^^;;]

Heather watched this female mutant take out her gun. What was the point of a mutation if she just used her gun everywhere? Maybe it was a mutation like her own, a curse as well as a gift...

But the government had told her it was just a curse, so why did she even think that? There was no reason really, just the way her thoughts came out...

"Halt!"

One of the soldiers stepped forward, gun pointing at the woman. Heather sighed. What an idiot. If she knew what she was doing, and, if Heather knew that look on her face and the tone in her voice, she probably went through this routine quite a bit, or at least enough to know how to deal with some military men.

If this woman did not, then it sure was going to fool her.

Flexing her right arm, she waited. Someone was going to make the first move eventually, but it wasn't going to be Heather.

It was going to be one of the more stupid military men. Either his nerves were hitting its last point, or he was just trigger happy. Whatever the case, the sound of gunfire caused Heather to glance over. Obviously, her mutation did not encompass 'faster than a speeding bullet,' or she would have stopped it from going anywhere near the bullet's target.

But there it was, setting into motion what could possibly be a small fight... or just one really dead man.

There was the sound of a metal sliding against metal in a swift and smooth motion before the front guard found his throat cut and bleeding out in front of him. The second guard found himself impaled through the heart and the third turned to see what was happening before he found a slash across his chest the size of a river. Blood dripped from an invisible blade as the blade itself became visible, stuck in the ground and standing where the third guard had fallen. A voice came from behind the new Project M mutant.

"Forsake your masters or flee to them." Was the voice's cold command as the sword was picked up and wiped off, becoming invisible once more as the blood stained the military uniform on the third man it had slain. Masque stood where no one could see him, waiting for her response. He didn't know this mutant, only knew by her uniform and her friendliness with the military that she was Project M. He'd have to work on getting better intelligence as to the Project's mutants. Perhaps a break in was in order. For her sake, he'd hoped that she would stand down, otherwise, his hand was on the rapier's hilt ready to strike at her heart.

He glanced to Domino, hoping that she was okay, not that he could verbalize his concern for fear of being located. Luckily when the Project M mutants were sent out they were never given more than a small detail of men. No sense in wasting the infantry if one mutant could take out more than a platoon and with better efficiency. Sometimes he wondered what would have happened to him had he become project M, he'd probably be doing just what he was doing now though for the other side. It seemed that no matter what he did he was never going to be able to forsake the life of a soldier.
