Age: 2 years
Original Species: Pine Marten

Description:
SML: Pine Marten
Appearance: Together, we are a beautiful creature. We resemble a typical pine marten: stout legs, sleek, elongated body, wedge shaped head. Rich, chocolate fur covers us, smooth and soft, and a luxurious blot of cream creeps up our throat. Endless, penetrating black eyes are our window to the world, forever unreadable and emotionless. Our wide ears are somewhat triangular, and densely line, and our small black nose glistens moistly. A spot of earthy brown tips our delicate muzzle, fading slowly to black, and our ivory claws are wickedly sharp and beautifully curved. There is no doubt about it. We are lovely. However, it is when we live as two that we reveal our full potential.
Finger: I am bulkier and more geometrically proportioned than Morte. My legs are angled, and my tail is thick and tapered. My eyes, often squinted, gleam with the faintest red, and my coat is far darker than my sister's. My pelt is dense and harsh for a pine marten, but I do not let it bother me. My teeth, in this form, are sharper, smaller, more triangular, and higher in number than any other marten.
Morte: My build is far sleeker than my brother's. I am slim, with shorter legs and a longer neck, and my tail is long and thin. My skull follows not far behind; it is more elongated and feminine, with a dainty nose. Do not underestimate me, though-- those lips conceal a plethora of tiny yet wickedly sharp teeth. My eyes sparkle red, and my coat is softer, shorter, and paler than Finger's.
A word of warning to those who might seek to dispatch of Gemini: when necessary, the twins fight with surprising speed and strength. ...Very surprising.
Personality: In joined form, Gemini speaks in two voices. Unfortunately, this can cause arguments between itself, which always end badly. This is partially due to the fact that Gemini and its subdivisions, Morte and Finger, are incredibly prickly. They do not like to be underestimated or contradicted and are quick to take offense. They also tend to have a slightly cruel sense of humor; not an evil one, just a.. morbid one. Still, they are loathe to break promises, and will stick to their word 'til the grave. That is, if they can't find a loophole first. Gemini is very fond of loopholes.
Morte and Finger have a soft spot for praise, and though they are usually wary and untrusting, they will quickly warm to someone who lavishes them with compliments. Unfortunately, they have little tolerance for being bossed around, and such trust is usually wasted. They are also quite sneaky-- though Finger tends to be a little more lazy when it comes to checking his facts-- so beware. Morte is more of a smooth-talker, while Finger is more martially minded. Their favorite saying is this: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, brother?" "I think I am, sister."
Mutations: -Gemini can divide its molecules so that it becomes two slightly different, slightly smaller versions of itself. These forms have heightened senses and wicked teeth, but cannot divide further. When Finger and Morte join together , their injuries vanish, but when they divide again, the injuries reappear in the state they last were. Finger and Morte can heal normally, and joining is a conscious effort. - Gemini can understand and speak any language.
Defects: - When Gemini is anxious, it divides and reforms uncontrollably, which causes great discomfort; if Gemini happens to be in a small space at the time, its new, larger form can be painful or even deadly. - Gemini has to eat for two mouths even in its joined form. - Sharing a mind can cause great frustration between Finger and Morte, and they often argue or fight. - If either Morte or Finger should die, the other division of Gemini dies too. - Morte and Finger can feel eachother's pain in divided form, though if, say, Morte was injured, Finger would not suddenly start bleeding. It's more of a mental thing. - Again, when Gemini is anxious, it starts randomly spewing garbled fragments of words. Gemini is helpless to stop this.
Ornaments: A small metal band rings Gemini's front right paw, but disappears when it seperates.
Other:
Extra: As a random note, Gemini's voice(s) is extremely high-pitched. Beware your ears!
Codewords: Dustywhisker, Keeco

History: Gemini was born a test-tube baby, in a lab by the name of Milita-Splice. The scientists there were trying to create the perfect spy-- and indeed, they succeeded, to some degree. Of course, they had not been planning on creating such an... advanced creatre, and were startled when it began to converse with others of its own accord: They had only, initially, wanted a creature that could carry messages. Either way, they were proud of their result, and it wasn't long before they deemed their project test-worthy. ...You must remember, Gemini did not like to take orders.
The scientists had thought their imprinting processes on Gemini, back when it was no more than kit, had been succesful. Wrong. The moment they released it, supposedly under the function of a more efficient, more intelligent homing pigeon, Gemini went berserk. It was not large enough to cause to much damage to its antagonists; rather, it split in two and set off to sabotage the electrical system of the labs. Lights went out. Alarms went off. Security cameras blacked. All in all, chaos reigned. Many experiments escaped that day, and Milita-Splice thought their best bet would be to sell Gemini.
Splice-Tech offered a decent sum of money for Gemini, and Milita-Splice was glad to get the "failed" experiment off their hands. Splice-Tech, on the other hand, had plans for Gemini. ... solitary confinement cells, electrodes, radiation: they wanted to see what made Gemini tick. Or rather, what made it divide.
Sample Post: Gemini stood, stark still. Shadows of dark light flitted across its face, providing ghostly, vicious illumination to an already sinister expression. "So, sister, they dare challenge us, do they?" The creature's voice sounded vaguely annoyed, but with soft undertones of anticipation. "Indeed they do, my brother." A new voice spoke, then, softer than the first, almost silky enough to sound warm and comforting. ...Almost. It too seemed a little mocking, a little morbid. "Shall we, then?" Again with the prickles of boredom. "We shall." Gemini's body quivered then, a great ripple undulating down its curved spine. Its eyes rolled. Its mouth gawped. And then... it began to split. There was no blood, no painful spectacles; more, it was the subtle blossoming of a flower, two bodies uncurling from where previously, there had been but one.
And then it was over. Two sleek forms stood now, mouths curled into hateful grins that betrayed rows of blade-like teeth. Siblings, companions... killers? No. It was all a game; the offenders were little more than a pair of mice, offered for food, and the fierce words little more than an empty recitation. A ritual. And act. Alas, such was the life of a prisonner, and the twins accepted it. Eventually, their freedom would come. They just had to... wait a while. Yes, that was it.
Stalking forward in perfect unison, Finger and Morte began to circle. Round and round they went, scarlet toned eyes flashing hungrily. The two mice were, by now, terrified, their squeaks shrill and frantic. But the twins paid no heed. They were hungry; so be it if the mice had been offered. It was not Gemini's fault, and even if it was, the cycle of nature must always go on. Together, they lunged.
If the mice had time to react, they chose not to. A snip, a snap; they were gone. Either way, it was a routine thing, and it brought little excitement between the two parties. Both accepted life as it was, let time do what it would. In the end, it would all work out.
