Going to this at Webster Hall on Sunday. No idea who's on the card. Cassandro seducing Jay Johnston is one of the most mindblowing pairings pro wrestling has yet produced. |

I'm probably going too but I'm not a standing room fan. How the hell were tickets on sale for 3 months without anyone seeming to know about it? Re: the lineup, I posted this at DVDVR:

If it's the same guy I'm thinking of, Gringo Loco is in IWRG now so I'm sure he'll show up. Looks like it could be a good show but the main should be a triple threat with Monster and Chuky.

Don't go to many concerts I take it?
Not a lot, and the artists I see tend to play theatres or arenas. Got press access for Cageside Seats so I get to interview Cassandro! |

I'm going too. I'd probably have fun regardless of what made it on the card but I'm pretty excited to see Cassandro.

I haven't been to too many live shows but this is definitely the most fun I've ever had at a wrestling show. The wrestling (especially Cassandro and Alebrije) delivered, the burlesque was dirty fun, and the funny stuff actually made me laugh. The lack of ROHbots and other assorted wrestling mutants probably helped too. It was nice to be able to bring my girlfriend to a wrestling show without feeling ashamed.
That guy with the Verrazano bridge on his tights in the first match may be the most Guido-looking wrestler I've ever seen in my life. -------------------- |

Yeah, for pure fun, as good as any wrestling show I've ever been to. It wasn't a transcendent moment like being part of the crowd for Rock's coming out at Summerslam '98 or Kobashi completely owning the crowd during the Samoa Joe match, but those sort of things don't come along much anymore.
Exactly how nutty did the balcony dives look from the floor? And how what did the crowd split seem like as far as wrestling fans/non-fans? It was interesting seeing T.J. explain the crowd psychology to the Chikara crew (working their first Va Voom show). BTW, after talking to him at length for the interview plus before and after, T.J. just seems like he'd be an awesome guy to just watch/talk wrestling with. And he's only 3 months older than me with a decade as a wrestler! Geez. Cassandro's also the best dude ever, full of love for everyone that he meets. We were on the left side of the stage so we were pretty far away from the balcony dive which is probably a good thing. It looked like Alebrije crushed the a few of those fans in the front when he was knocked into the audience. He was much larger than I realized he would be.
I'm not sure how many wrestling fans were in the bunch. There were enough of them to start a holy shit chant which I don't think non-fans would have started. Still, there were probably less than a dozen scumbag wrestling fans. -------------------- |

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM Group: Admin Posts: 2,997 Member No.: 9 Joined: 30-April 08 |
Cassandro apparently broke his leg on a dive at the ROH PPV, so I assume he is questionable here. I assume that Rhett Titus didn't catch him, what a useless load of shit.

If Rhett Titus has blown my chance to see Cassandro at the Troc next month, there can be no forgiveness.

Shit, I can't believe I forgot about this. I'm going to be way too busy. Is there any word on who is stepping in for Cassandro?

I saw Baltimore show. Main event was Super Parka and I want to say Super?/Saber cat v Misterioso and Magno. So yeah no one who can step up to fill Cassandros shoes. I would have liked to believe that SuperParka and Misteriosos are enough veterans to be able to keep crowd into match with some stiffness, charisma and comedy spots...but sadly no.
I was surprised by how how poor Super Parka was at this, Huge step below Super Porky, Brazo de Platino or Alebrije. Pancho Tequilla wold have done better. Ceiling was super low which I'm assuming also affected dives. I thought Chocolate Caliente was going to bust his head on ceiling doing a leapfrog. Baltimore card: Ursulina did a strip tease where she revealed a horse tail to Stooges Loose Joey Ryan v Chocolate Caliente Samba burlesque dancer Dirty Sanchez/El Jimador v Crazy Chickens I think local Baltimore burlesque dancer to instrmental version of Love Potion #9 intermission Ricky Reyes/Mini-chupacabra v Bombero/Lil Chicken Male Hula Hoop based burlesque dancer (don't remember tune) Super Parka/Saber Cat v Misterioso/Magno |
