WWE Champion: The Game Triple H
----- WWE Intercontinental Champion: "Y2J" Chris Jericho ----- WWE Women's Champion: Mickie James ----- World Tag Team Champions: Cody Rhodes and "Hardcore" Bob Holly ----- General Manager & 2008 King of the Ring: William Regal ... .. . Jericho needs a program...something needs to be done about the tag team division...there's nothing wrong with Triple H being a 12 time champion (he's got mouths to feed and futures to help provide for)...Mr. Kennedy has returned from making a movie...and John Cena should be gone again soon to make another movie...and this whole "power trip" that Regal will be going on should cause some moments...good and bad...but that's the WWE... |

RAW Preview For Tonight: When Judgment Comes
Posted in: WWE News on May 12, 2008 - 12:23:44 PM When Judgment comes May 12, 2008 Judgment Day will be only six days away when Raw returns from north of the border this Monday night, and the Raw Superstars will have one last chance to gain momentum inside Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena. One individual making his way to the Motor City for Raw is John Cena. Following last week's announcement that the Chain Gang Soldier will clash with JBL at Judgment Day, Cena may be on hand to mix some pre-match words (or fists) with the self-proclaimed "wrestling god." Since tapping to Cena in the WWE Championship Fatal Four Way Match at Backlash, JBL has taken out his aggression on the likes of Highlander Robbie and DH Smith. Will Cena's return to Raw this week be enough to keep the Longhorn Loudmouth from seeking another victim? Or might JBL want to make Cena that victim, mere days before Judgment Day? Detroit may be Hockeytown, U.S.A., but this Monday, it could become Blackoutville. For two consecutive weeks, General Manager William Regal has pulled the plug; first, he took Raw off the air two weeks ago in the middle of a Triple H vs. Randy Orton WWE Title Match, and last week, he turned the lights out as Orton battled CM Punk in Toronto. Regal has shown that he has no qualms about taking Raw off the air if he is disrespected, and WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon (statement). Will our fans in Detroit make it through the full two hours uninterrupted? If they don’t, will those in attendance at “The Joe” shower Regal with the signature squid usually reserved for celebrating a Red Wings hat trick? Orton and Regal’s number one enemies, WWE Champion Triple H and Mr. Kennedy respectively, did make it through their match last week. Unfortunately, they lost, as Kennedy & The Game had to do battle against the entire ECW roster. To make matters worse for Triple H, he survived a wild post-match melee only to be flattened by an RKO from his Judgment Day opponent. On the way to their Steel Cage showdown, who will get the last laugh? And will Regal throw anything more at Kennedy in response to his besmirching several weeks ago? Also last week in a WWE Mobile on AT&T exclusive video, a massive match was made for Judgment Day: Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels. The battle between Y2J and HBK has been heating up ever since Michaels’ win over Batista at Backlash. Jericho has accused the Showstopper of faking an injury to win that match; whether he is or he isn’t, HBK’s injury didn’t stop him from teaming with Y2J to defeat WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison last Monday night. With less than a week left before their pay-per-view battle, how will Jericho and Michaels finish their preparations? Find out all this in more as the final Raw before Judgment Day comes to you live from Detroit, Monday at 9/8 CT on USA Network. |

WWE Monday Night RAW Results - May 12, 2008
Posted in: WWE News on May 13, 2008 - 6:12:35 AM WWE Raw Live Report May 12, 2008 Detroit, Mich. By James Caldwell of PWTorch.com The show started with a recap of last Monday when WWE champion Triple H ate the ECW brand for dinner, then the lights went on and off, setting up Randy Orton for the show-closing RKO. Live in the arena: The arena was dark with no pyro. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcomed us to a dark arena before the lights came up to reveal William Regal in the ring with Lillian Garcia. Big heat for Regal. Lillian sang "God Save The Queen," much to the angst of the audience while Regal stood stoic in the ring. Big turned into huge heat against Regal, who said how dare they disrespect his country. He said he could have people thrown out of the building if he wants. Regal went to the outside and surveyed the front row. He picked a couple of the crowd and asked for them to leave. Mickie James then stormed ringside and said that's her family. Regal didn't care, but Mickie kept arguing. Regal said he could strip Mickie of the Women's Title if he wanted. Suddenly, John Cena's music interrupted and the roof came off. Cena saluted the crowd then sternly walked to the ring not looking in the mood for a fun night at the casino. Cena led Mickie out of the ring, then he approached Regal. He said he's been away for a few weeks and he needs to talk to Regal man-to-man. Cena went the self-deprecating route, then said pretty much everybody thinks Regal is messing up. Regal said not everyone, as Vince McMahon gave him full endorsement. Cena cut him off and said Vince is straight insane. He then pulled out some emails from fans to WWE's website about Regal. Cena read some emails. One dude said Regal turning off the lights two weeks in a row is an absolute disgrace. Why should we respect Regal when he doesn't respect us? Another dude wrote in this is WCW Thunder bad. He said he's going to start a petition for a Fire Rus...er..."Fire Regal, clap clap, Fire Regal, clap clap" chant. Cena read another one, then he asked Regal for his thoughts. The fans chanted, "Fire Regal" before Regal could respond. Regal quietly asked if that's how they truly feel. He paused, took a deep breath, then he gave Cena his word he won't be turning out the lights on any matches. Regal said Cena's been off TV for a few weeks after Orton kicked him in the head at Backlash, so tonight it's Cena vs. Orton in the main event. Big pop for that. Cena said there must be a catch, so when can he expect JBL to interfere? Regal told him not to worry because if anyone not directly involved in the match interferes, he or she will be automatically suspended. Regal said hopefully that will earn a little respect. Regal started to leave, then Cena cut him off and said he's in the USA. Cena said he doesn't care where you're from, but you have to realize where you're from. Cena with the cheap pop referencing Hockeytown and Motown. He said Aretha Franklin sang a little song about R-E-S-P-E-C-T, and that's how we're going to start this sumbitch. Cena then told Lillian to sing it out. After Lillian finished off a few verses, Cena said the lights aren't going off tonight. His music hit and Cena left the ring after a hot opening segment. Announcers: Ross and Lawler plugged Chris Jericho apologizing to Shawn Michaels tonight. Also, Holly & Rhodes vs. Carlito & Santino for the tag belts. [Q2] [Commercial Break] In-ring: Roddy Piper slowly walked out to ringside. He shook hands with Ross and Lawler before sitting down at the timekeeper's table. Santino Marella then came out first for the World Tag Title match. Santino did the belt-around-the-waist motion to Piper, who stood up to exchange a few words. Carlito then came out telling everyone he has j-status with the official Judgment Day PPV t-shirt. Holly and Rhodes followed out to defend the belts. 1 -- World tag team champions HARDCORE HOLLY & CODY RHODES vs. SANTINO MARELLA & CARLITO -- World Tag Title match Ross and Lawler talked about some sort of rumor that people feel Holly & Rhodes will lose the belts tonight. Random, but it has to be based on what Vince is feeling about rumors flying out of the WWE locker room these days. In any event, Carlito and Santino worked over Holly to start things off. Just before 3:00, Piper distracted Santino, allowing Cody to nail a spike DDT on Carlito for the pin and the win. WINNERS: Cody & Holly in 3:00. Apparently Piper is the new manager of the tag champs to give them a little color? Piper claimed in an interview last month that he has a long-term deal with WWE, so if he's committed to be on the road regularly, then might as well use him to spice up the champs. (3/4*) Announcers: Ross asked Lawler a question about whether Shawn Michaels's knee injury is legit or not. Lawler said he's watched the tape over and over, and initially it looks legit. He really doesn't know, but he knows Jericho is now convinced Shawn was injured. This led to Ross plugging a text messaging deal on whether Michaels is injured. Yes or No. [Commercial Break] [Q3] On stage: Mr. Kennedy walked out and took the ceiling mic. He said he has a big mouth, but no one is going to shut it for him. Why? Because he's Mister Kennedy... Kennedy. He then entered the ring in anticipation of facing Snitsky. Snitsky has expanded, with his love handles all over the place along with some crazy-looking facial hair. Not even scary. Just weird. 2 -- MR. KENNEDY vs. SNITSKY Lawler filled some time asking Ross if he's ever tried to introduce himself like Kennedy? "Hi, I'm good 'ole JR!... JR!" Ross paused and said he'd practice that. The match dragged on with Snitsky smashing Kennedy with a hard clothesline at 3:00. He went for the pumphandle slam finisher, but Kennedy slipped out and nailed the mic check. Crowd popped, then Kennedy rolled Snitsky over and pinned him. WINNER: Kennedy in 4:00. Slow match, but it served the purpose of making it clear to the audience that Kennedy is supposed to be a babyface these days. (1/2*) Announcers: Ross and Lawler plugged Cena vs. Orton for tonight. Good to see continual advertising for the match. [Commercial Break] Backstage: Grisham brought in Santino for an interview after the deal with Piper. He said he won't be insulted by ah Roddy the Piper. It's not the '80s, he said, which means Hogan isn't champ anymore. Santino vowed to find Piper and make him pay. Elsewhere backstage: Cena was getting a cup of coffee when Mickie James walked over to thank him for the opening segment with Regal. Cena said it's cool. She then asked if he wanted to go out with her, her brother, and her brother's girlfriend afterward. Cena went into robot mode and said he has a commitment to his job, which includes staying focused on Orton tonight and Judgment Day on Sunday. Mickie wasn't sure how to take that, so Cena broke robot character and said of course he's good for going out for drinks later. He warned things get wild with him sometimes. Mickie said she can do wild. Cena said that's cool, then Mickie walked off to prepare for a match up next. In-ter-esting. But, I thought Mickie was interested in Murdoch. Oh yeah, that was about 15 storylines ago. Elsewhere backstage II: They showed Beth and Melina walking in anticipation of the match against Mickie. [Q4] [Commercial Break] In-ring: Melina came out first for the divas tag match. After she did her little in-ring pose thingie, Beth Phoenix came out while the announcers talked about Beth and Melina not being on the same page last week. Maria led out the babyface tandem, then Mickie James pranced out to a typical strong reaction. 3 -- MELINA & BETH PHOENIX vs. Women's champion MICKIE JAMES & MARIA Melina and Beth had an early miscommunication, with Beth being bumped off the ring apron. Beth then opted to leave the ring instead of take a tag from Melina to set up a beating on Mickie. Melina lost control, and Mickie finished off Melina with a neckbreaker. Beth just kept walking up the ramp with her back to the ring while Mickie and Maria celebrated afterward. WINNERS: Mickie & Maria in 2:00. Would have liked to have seen more in-ring time devoted to the women prior to going to the finish with the miscommunication, but the storyline is at least progressing. (n/a) [Commercial Break. Judgment Day video plug: They're advertising Orton vs. Hunter for the PPV, but still no mention of this being a cage match. Is this even a cage match anymore? ... ECW plug: Kane vs. Everyone.] Announcers: Ross and Lawler revealed the text voting. 72 percent of voters believe Michaels is telling the truth about his knee injury. There has to be a punch line for the other 28 percent, but I'm drawing a blank. [Q5 -- second hour] In-ring: Chris Jericho came to the ring dressed for a night at the club. Jericho waited out a "Y2J" chant, then he set up the storyline about Michaels's apparent knee injury. Jericho said he didn't buy it initially after being in the ring with him as special referee. He said he gave Michaels an award for his performance in milking the injury, but then something changed last week when Michaels helped him win a tag match apparently on one good leg. Jericho said something clicked when he saw the pain on Michaels's face when trying to deliver the superkick. He offered an apology and said he wanted to tell Michaels he's sorry. Jericho looked into the camera and said he's sorry. He suggested they could call off their one-on-one match at the PPV if Michaels is injured. Michaels's music interrupted, then he hobbled out to the ring and took a mic. Michaels approached Jericho and started to talk, but Jericho cut him off and said he just wanted to apologize to him. Jericho kept talking over Michaels, who told him he doesn't need to apologize. Michaels said for the first time in his career, he feigned an injury. Michaels said Jericho is right; he's not hurt. Jericho didn't know how to react. They stared at each other, then Jericho smiled and said he knows what Michaels is doing. He said he won't be fooled twice, but he won't buy the mind games from Michaels. Jericho said Michaels better come up with a better game plan that that to fool him. Michaels said he told everybody that he would do whatever it takes to win. He said he did just that. Michaels said Jericho is right that he's not hurt. Jericho said now Michaels is insulting his intelligence. He said the problem is that Michaels thinks he's smarter than everyone else. Jericho said he knows in his heart that Michaels is hurt. Michaels then stepped back and popped Jericho in the mouth with a superkick. Jericho fell flat on his back like an old dog with his paws up in the air. Michaels then leaned in next to Jericho and told Jericho to trust him that he's not hurt. Michaels dropped the mic then did a flip over the top rope to the floor and walked up the ramp showing no ill-effects of a knee injury. JC: Surprising the audience would still cheer for Michaels after he duped everyone. Michaels simply has that veteran respect where he can do whatever necessary to get ahead and the audience will still cheer for him. [Commercial Break] In-ring: After a pause, Jeff Hardy's new music hit. The crowd came to life, but no sign of Hardy. Suddenly, Hardy emerged and the crowd roared. Hardy slapped hands on the way to the ring while Lillian told the crowd to welcome back Jeff Hardy. Ross called it a wonderful surprise. Hardy entered the ring and surveyed the crowd at all four corners. Once his music stopped, Hardy looked to the crowd, which was chanting "Hardy, Hardy". Hardy opened by saying it feels good to be back. He said he never wanted to be away, but the truth is he made a mistake and he paid for it. Hardy said now that he's back, he has a lot of things to do. He said first thing is to become Intercont--- his mic was cut off, then William Regal walked out on stage and asked if something's wrong with the mic. He said no one wants to hear Hardy's mea culpa. Regal said Hardy should be punished for his sins by competing against this man. Out walked Umaga. I think 2007 wants its feud back. [Q6] 4 -- JEFF HARDY vs. UMAGA Before Umaga could enter the ring, Hardy landed a baseball slide kick that sent Umaga across the floor. Umaga recovered and threw Hardy hard into the guardrail. He then rolled Hardy into the ring to officially begin a match. Crowd was hot in its support of Hardy. Umaga quieted them momentarily with a big diving splash in center ring. He continued to beat down Hardy while the fans rallied in their support. Umaga went for the big rear end splash, but Hardy moved just in time. He then nailed a Whisper in the Wind on Umaga. He made a cover and the ref counted three as Umaga appeared to kick out. Nevertheless, Hardy with the big comeback win. WINNER: Hardy in 2:00. Quick and effective for giving Hardy a big return done right. This show will be a major litmus test for the effect of Cena and Hardy on ratings. Hardy wasn't advertised ahead of time, so fans weren't automatically tuning in for Hardy, but his return should have kept folks tuning in who were flipping around the dial. (1/2*) Video package: Focus on Cena's virtuosity vs. JBL's cunning to promote their Judgment Day match. [Commercial Break] In-ring: Cryme Tyme came out for a tag match. Ross welcomed us back to the show with his dawg, Jerry Lawler. What a shock - Cade & Murdoch came out as the opponents. 2007 is still on the phone looking for its feud back. 5 -- CRYME TYME (J.T.G. & SHAD GASPAR) vs. CADE & MURDOCH Early in the match, Lawler talked about Murdoch winning once he started singing. Where are these victories that we've been missing? Murdoch blocked a sunset flip and rolled up JTG for the pin and the win. Afterward, Cade celebrated like they just won the Super Bowl. Cade took a mic and said that's what he's talking about with them being back on a roll. He said maybe the singing has something to do with it. Cade asked the crowd if they want to hear him sing. He said it doesn't matter what they want anyways, only what he wants. Cade told Murdoch to sing their victory song. He started singing country with "know when to fold 'em." Suddenly, Cade blasted Murdoch in the face with a hard right hand punch. Cade simply stared down at Murdoch, who struggled to figure out what planet he was on. Once Murdoch made it to his knees, Cade landed one more right hand to the skull that KO'ed Murdoch. Cade then left the ring and simply stared into a stunned crowd to end the segment. WINNER: Murdoch & Cade in 2:00; Cade's fist in 5:00. It was inevitable the break-up would occur, and something I wrote about in 2007 that should happen. At least we can finally put an end to the Cryme Tyme vs. Cade & Murdoch program that simply would not end. (1/2*) [Q7] Smackdown Rebound: They focused on Vickie Guerrero announcing a match for the World Title at Judgment Day with Undertaker facing the winner of Championship Chase. They showed Batista winning until Vickie pulled the rug out from under Batista when Edge was inserted to win the deal and get Taker for the belt at the PPV. [Commercial Break] Backstage: Melina had an icepack on her neck trying to talk to Jillian Hall about her problems. Beth Phoenix then walked in and told Melina what's the real story with their problems. Beth said she knows Melina just wants the Women's Title, and Melina thinks she can beat Mickie easier than she can beat Beth for the belt. Melina asked if that's so. She then landed a forearm blow that set off a full-scale brawl. Beth got the best of the fight, then referees eventually stepped in to settle things down. Announcers: Ross and Lawler plugged the Judgment Day card. They finally plugged Hunter vs. Orton inside a steel cage. Backstage: Grisham brought in Randy Orton for an interview. Grisham asked Orton about facing Cena tonight and Hunter for the belt at Judgment Day. Orton rhetorically asked who was standing victorious at WrestleMania, and who was standing over Hunter's fallen body last week. That would be him. He said Hunter had a lucky night at Backlash. Orton said Age of Orton returns at Judgment Day. He transitioned to Cena, and said Cena will learn what Hunter already found out. He said he will prove he's not only the best athlete in WWE, but also the smartest. [Commercial Break] ECW plug: Please tune in for Miz vs. Punk and Morrison vs. Kane in separate singles matches. [Q8] In-ring: Some new rocker music hit for Randy Orton. Why do they keep messing with the ring music formula? Just keep it the way it is! The opening lyrics talked about voices in his head. I thought that was Kane. (May 19!) John Cena then came out to a strong reaction. 6 -- JOHN CENA vs. RANDY ORTON The bell sounded and the fans chanted Cena's name. Orton immediately went for a headlock on the mat to ground Cena, but Cena came back with a fisherman suplex. Orton ducked a clothesline, then he nailed the fallaway backbreaker for a nearfall. Orton peered ominously around the ring while the fans engaged in a duel chant pro-Cena and pro-Orton. Orton tried to start the Orton stomp, but Cena grabbed his foot and dumped him over the top rope to the floor. [Commercial Break] The fight picked up mid-ring with Orton nailed a turnaround powerslam off the ropes for a nearfall. Crowd was red hot, so Orton took the volume down slightly with a reverse chinlock on the mat. The crowd picked up the volume with their dueling chants. Cena fought out of the hold and went for a trademark shoulder tackle, but Orton had it scouted so he ducked and Cena ate the mat. Orton tried to follow with an RKO, but Cena shoved off and nailed a blockbuster. He then went up top for the guillotine leg drop. Cena was looking for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Orton rolled to the outside. Regal then walked out on stage with JBL in zebra stripes. He said the current referee is not suitable for the match, so he's found a replacement. JBL stormed the ring and confronted Cena, who punched him to the outside. Cena then avoided the RKO from Orton and went for the FU, but JBL kicked Cena in the head. Orton then covered Cena for the fastest three count ever. WINNER: Orton in 9:00. Very good TV match while it lasted. Smart use of Regal to show his craftiness in a way that fit the storyline, but didn't kill the audience. (**1/2) Post-match: JBL and Orton doubled up on Cena until Triple H's music hit and Hunter walked to the ring with a purpose. Crowd was red hot at this point. JBL met Hunter with a right hand, but Hunter blocked and attacked JBL. Cena cleared JBL to the outside, which led to a brawl into the stands. They fought through the sea of humanity. Back in the ring, Orton caught Hunter with a knee, then big right hand punches. Orton continued to smash Hunter until a cage was suddenly lowered to the ring. [Q9 -- over-run] With the cage on the ground, Orton measured Hunter for a whip into the cage, but Hunter blocked and nailed a spinebuster in center ring. Hunter then chucked Orton into the cage wall and Orton slipped through the bottom of the cage wall to the floor. Hunter scaled the top of the cage and stood on top looking down at Orton, who crawled on his back down the entrance ramp.Triple H was doing his best imitation of Jeff Hardy while looking down at Orton. They faded to black only one minute past the top of the hour in possibly the shortest over-run in years. |

What You Didn't See On RAW Last Night
Posted in: WWE News on May 13, 2008 - 10:46:41 AM Thanks to reader Chris Gabbard for sending this in: I attended RAW in Detroit at Joe Louis Arena Monday so here are some dark match/heat matches, some RAW notes and what happened after RAW went off the air. Dark/Heat Matches: Ron Killings vs. Nick “The Natural” Nemeth. Killings won with a Suplex into sit-out drop or whatever it is called. Crowd was really into Killings and Nemeth received some decent heat. A small section near me got a “TNA” Chant going but didn’t take off for that long. Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. some guy that was billed from Chicago, IL that sounded like CK3 or something I am not sure couldn’t hear it that well. Duggan won with the three point stance clothesline. Fans chanted USA for Duggan and seemed to enjoy Duggan and the match.. Paul Burchill and Katie Lea defeated Super Crazy in a two on one handicap match when Burchill did the curb stomp and Katie pinned Super Crazy. Crowd didn’t really seem to enjoy this one as the other two previous matches. Katie Lea cut a promo, but was unable to hear what she said. Paul London and Brian Kendrick defeated the team of Charlie Haas and Robbie McAllister when Brian Kendrick hit Slice bread #2 on Charlie Haas for the win. After the match Brian Kendrick cut a short promo saying that facing Haas and McAllister was a joke and that they were coming to RAW to get the World Tag Team Championships. RAW Show Notes: Regal got a ton of heat when he came out to start RAW. Mr. Kennedy got a nice response from the crowd and everyone did the Mr. Kennedy…… Kennedy thing when his mic came down. Fans could care less for Snitsky and a few “Brush your teeth” chants started. Fans liked it when Kennedy hit the Mic Check. A little kid sitting in front of me had a Mr. Kennedy t-shirt which I found shocking since he has only been a face for 3 weeks now. Nice ovation for Rowdy Roddy Piper when he came out before the World Tag Team Championship. For where I was, the rest of the crowd could care less about this match. Fans were going insane for the return of Jeff Hardy and really enjoyed him being back. Crowd was really into the main event with John Cena vs. Randy Orton with Cena and Orton both getting dueling lets go Cena/ lets go Orton. After RAW: Six Man Tag Team Steel Cage Match: Randy Orton, JBL, & Umaga vs. DX & John Cena. The finish was John Cena doing the FU to Randy Orton and I believe Triple H did the Pedigree to JBL and Shawn Michaels hit sweet chin music on Umaga followed by all three pinning who they hit their finishers on for the win. I really enjoyed the cage match. Afterwards, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena stuck around interacting with the crowd getting the fans to shout the loudest in sections. Triple H did his usual DX stuff, before getting down to it, he made a joke that Shawn’s knee and how he is fine but there was some concern that he was hurt but he is just fine. Triple H got off topic a couple times even pointing out that Joey Styles runs WWE.com and how this will probably be up later. He told people to go to shop.com but Shawn had to tell him it is now WWEShop.com to buy DX merchandise. Triple H got off track again pointing out JR and King were still sitting at the announce desk and that after the shows JR usually races up the ramp to go the bathroom after consuming water during a 2 hour show. Triple H talked about waterfalls, streams , and stuff that would make someone who had to go badly have to even go even worse. JR was smirking as the camera came to him and King was laughing his but off the whole time. Shawn kidded and said he had to go too. So Triple H got down to the question he usually asks and then it go to the part where he says “for the thousands in attendance and for the millions…..” Shawn had to tell Triple H they were off the air so Triple H asked some fan what time it was and they said 11:20 pm so he said oh so this isn’t on TV screw it so then he said for the “thousands in attendance, for millions of people on WWE.com that will watch this later”. The usual DX stuff after here. Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena do the DX crotch chop to pyro to end the show. JR’s Music plays and that is it from Detroit. Don’t know how it came across on TV but I enjoyed the show just with the Steel Cage Match after the show being a nice little bonus. Crowd really enjoyed themselves and rarely were they sitting on their hands. |

WWE RAW Results (5/19)
Posted in: WWE News on May 20, 2008 - 12:46:23 AM WWE RAW May 19, 2008 Kansas City, MO Commentators: Jim Ross & Jerry “The King” Lawler Reported By: Hunter Golden of WrestleView.com Jeff Hardy v. Umaga Umaga stared down Hardy from across the ring. The crowd is uber hot for Jeff. Umaga came running at Jeff and began laying in right hands before tossing Hardy into the ropes. Jeff countered with a sunset flip and avoided an Umaga sit out. Hardy hit a drop kick and went for a cover but only got a one count. The pace kept up until Umaga caught Hardy in mid air and Samoan dropped him to the canvas and hard. Umaga slapped on a vice grip before planting Hardy to the mat with a stiff uppercut. He dumped Hardy upside down in the corner before hitting the big diving head butt. Umaga mounted the second rope and came sailing off but missed Jeff by a mile. Hardy went to the ropes but Umaga caught him by the hair. Hardy broke free and went for whisper in the wind and Umaga casually walked to the side, avoiding what beat him last week. Umaga went for the running bump butt, but Hardy backed off. Instead of pin balling everywhere, Hardy went right at Umaga and hit some right hands and a drop kick. Hardy eventually hit a mule kick and it sent the big man reeling to the ground. Hardy hit a plancha that resulted in both being laid out on the outside. Both fought to their feet. Umaga whipped Hardy to the stairs, but missed the follow up. Hardy went to walk the rails but got caught and side walk slammed on the concrete. The official signaled for the bell and what we have here is a double count out. Winner: Double Count Out Batista and Jericho had a not so friendly confrontation in the back. ****Commercial**** The lights are out and that can only mean one thing. Our beloved King is here! Regal told us that One Night Stand was right around the corner and it would consist of all extreme rules matches. Orton and JBL are on the titan tron. Regal said both men wanted rematches from Judgment Day. He said they’d get their chance tonight. If they won, both would get their rematches and they’d get to choose the stipulation. If Triple H and John Cena won the tag match, they would pick the stip. Regal kept going on before Mr. Kennedy’s music hit and he came down to the ring. Kennedy challenged Regal to a match. Regal said Kennedy didn’t get it. He said he didn’t take challenges from common wrestlers. He said the next person who interrupted him would be fired. Mr. McMahon’s music hit. Kennedy mocked Regal until Vince told him to ‘shut up’. Vince said Regal was given 100% endorsement. He said ever since he gave him his endorsement, they have received, as a result of his abuse of power, more viewer complaints than at any other point in their history. Vince said he knew he didn’t care about the people, and he didn’t either, but he DID care about the muh-nay. He said for some reason, when he came on the air, the ratings would plummet. So in the interest of fairness, Vince said Regal wanted Kennedy gone. Vince said he did as well. He said he didn’t like Kennedy but the viewers wanted Regal gone, not Kennedy. So tonight, we’d have a match, Regal v. Kennedy. The loser of the match would be gone. ****Commercial**** Beth Phoenix v. Maria Tonight’s edition of Bambi v. Godzilla. Horay! Beth tossed maria to the mat hard before bullying her into the corner. Beth military pressed Maria and just dropped her like a sack of potatoes. Beth laid Maria out with a backbreaker and stretched it out for some fun. Maria countered with a quick bulldog for a two count and even tried a roll up but was quickly shoulder tackled to the mat. Maria went for some wheelbarrow move variant and got SMASHED face first to the mat. What an awesome squash. Winner: Beth Phoenix via pin fall Beth mouthed off at Melina, who was on commentary on the outside before walking to the back. Melina didn’t really like it too much so she took off her boot and chased Phoenix down the aisle and decked her with her furry boot. She began choking Phoenix out from behind before Beth flung her over her shoulder and slammed her hard off the entrance ramp. The officials broke up the scuffle. ****Commercial**** A replay of the Rowdy Piper and Mickie is with Katie Lee in the back. Katie Lee can certainly talk. She accuses Mickie of sleeping her way to the top by going out with John Cena. Mickie is a little upset. HBK approached King Regal in the back. He said tonight, he’d have a good time watching Regal. Regal said no matter who won the Batista-Jericho match tonight, that HBK would face someone at One Night Stand in a stretcher match. ****Commercial**** Batista v. Chris Jericho Jericho went right at the big man, trying to take him down. Batista easily tossed him aside and worked him into the corner before whipping Jericho into the buckle. Jericho caught the big man with a boot to the grill before charging right back at him. Jericho planted a kick to the face of Batista before getting lifted with ease and planted on the mat for a two count. Batista kept up the pressure, choking Jericho out with his boot in the corner before tossing Jericho across the ring. Jericho whimpered on the ring apron looking like he hurt his knee. Batista doesn’t seem ready to fall for it. ****Commercial**** The two went at it pretty hard before Jericho chucked Batista to the outside and Batista’ the one with the leg injury. Jericho went at the leg of Batista with some kicks before chop blocking the limb. Jericho slapped on a leg lock which evolved into a toe hold. Batista powered out of the hold, but Jericho flew back with knee to the leg. He draped the limb on the bottom rope and sat out on it a couple of times before Jericho went to wrap it around the ring post. Batista kicked him into the announce table buying some time. Jericho charged back in the ring only to meet a huge Batista boot. Batista caught the spin buster and looked for a Batista bomb but Jericho countered out with the Walls of Jericho. Jericho couldn’t hold the whole hold and ended up in a half crab focused on one limb. The crowd’s going bananas. Is that BATISTA getting cheered for against Jericho? Batista finally reached the bottom rope. Jericho kept kicking away at the leg and hit another chop block after a whiffed clothesline from Batista. Jericho missed a lion sault and he got loaded up for a Batista bomb. Jericho used the ropes to counter out and landed on the apron. He mounted the top rope only to get freaking decapitated with a clothesline from the Animal. Batista went for the cover for a fantastic near fall. It’s the location pitcher v. the slugger. Great stuff. Jericho got up to his feet in the corner looking drunk. Batista missed a spear. Jericho went for the code breaker but Batista caught him and POWERED HIM UP INTO A BATISTA BOMB and nailed it. Match over. Winner: Batista via pin fall HBK came out to the ramp and we have a little stare down. JR and King pimped the main event. ****Commercial**** William Regal is getting ready and Vince McMahon showed up. Regal asked him why this match was happening. Vince went to explain himself before Ted Dibiase showed up. Vince said he had some business to discuss with Mr. Dibiase. They dismissed Regal. Piper’s Pit Oh it’s not Piper, it’s Santino. Dressed gloriously. Santino called himself Rodney Piper, the man who beat a fat transvestite at Wrestlemania III. Just when you think we know the answers, he babbles incoherently. Santino replayed the fun from Jimmy Kimmel. Santino made fun of Kimmel’s cousin and said he was going to introduce the stinky little monkey, cousin Salvatore. Santino said according to his cousin, he idolized Piper growing up. Santino asked him what he idolized about him.. His failure to become world champion, cross dressing or his straight up horrible movies… Sal said there were a lot of great things about Rowdy Roddy Piper. He said he admired his ability to back up what he said unlike Santino. He said Santino was hung like a fourth grader and Farooq showed up to give us a ‘damn’. Santino said fourth graders are maturing at a fast rate and he had pictures to back it up. That got an ‘oh’. Santino said Sal was here to give him an apology. He showed us a birthday cake, except it was an ‘I’m sorry’ cake. He said he’d apologize very good or the cake would find it’s way to his face. Rowdy Piper showed up behind Santino and of course, Santino got a face full of cake. Piper got the Whig and danced around with it a little bit. Santino flailed around the outside a bit before challenging Sal to a match. Piper said he’d get his wish. ****Commercial**** Loser Gets Fired Mr. Kennedy v. King William Regal The two locked horns and Kennedy backed Regal up to the corner and hit a kick and some right hands. Regal came back with some punches of his own before Kennedy whipped him to the buckles and back body dropped him for a quick near fall. Kennedy stomped Regal to the apron only to get tripped up. Regal laid in some really unfriendly knees to the head of Kennedy before the two got tangled up in a back slide struggle. Regal muscled Kennedy to the mat for two near falls before backing Kennedy to the corner and uncorking some not so friendly right hands and bringing him out with a double under hook suplex for a two count. Regal slapped on a top wrist lock for a little while before letting the hold go and kneeing Kennedy in the side of the face. Regal ate a boot in the corner before Kennedy exchanged blows with Regal until hitting a wheel kick for a two count. Regal regained the advantage by throwing Kennedy to the floor and chasing him out to the ringside area. Regal got on the mic and said he was still GM and he was making this match a no disqualification match. He grabbed some knucks from the ring side attendant and chucking Kennedy into the ring steps. He tossed Kennedy into the ring and loaded up the knucks. Regal waited for the shot and whiffed, and Kennedy hit a mic check out of nowhere. He rolled Regal over and Regal’s toast. Winner: Mr. Kennedy via pin fall The crowd poured the heat onto Regal. Regal backed up the ramp, fired. ****Commercial**** Regal was frantically knocking on the door to his locker room. Someone opened the door and Teddy Long stepped out. Todd Grisham is with WWE Champion Triple H. Triple H gave a very sportsy interview. He said he wasn’t worried about Orton and JBL. He said there was a lot of change going on, but there was always one constant, and that was him being the best the business had to offer. ****Commercial**** JBL & Randy Orton vs. Randy Orton & Triple H Looks like Cena’s starting for his team. Orton for his. The two circled it up and Cena grabbed a headlock but it was broken up in the ropes before Orton laid in some head shots. Cena came back with an Irish whip-bulldog combo before tagging in the champion. Triple H laid in a few right hands before Orton caught him with an elbow. Criss cross into the rope and the Game hit a high knee. He punched JBL long enough to distract the ref. He tossed Orton into the ropes while Cena yanked the top one down, sending Orton clattering to the floor. ****Commercial**** We came back to JBL controlling Triple H quite easily. Orton tagged in and hit some shots to the gut before laying some boots in on the champion. Orton went for his drop kick but Triple H avoided it and Orton smashed into the canvas. Triple H struggled to the corner and got the hot tag to Cena. Cena hit some clotheslines and a shoulder block before power bombing Orton. He motioned to JBL and hit the five knuckle shuffle. He revved up for the FU but JBL hit him from behind. Orton almost hit an RKO but he missed. Orton almost got hit with the FU but JBL made the save with a big boot for a near fall. Orton kept on top of Cena, but the two eventually knocked noggin’s and both were left laid out. Both made tags and Triple H and JBL went at it. JBL missed a clothesline and Triple H connected with one. The Game hit his face buster and a hangman’s neck breaker for a two count. JBL got a boot up in the corner but found himself unwound with a spine buster. While Orton and Triple H brawled, Cena slapped on the STFU on JBL. Orton got back in the ring with Triple H and missed the big boot on him, but nailed Cena. JBL rolled over and made the cover for the win. Winners: JBL & Randy Orton via pin fall Orton and JBL laid a not so friendly beat down on the baby faces at the end of the match. JBL announced it’d be him and Cena in a first blood match. Orton didn’t want to be outdone. Orton said he’d take back his belt the same way he won it. A last man standing match. Only thing I can think of is that it was competing with the NBA playoffs.

No Loner I think it's because RAW Sucks! I just tape and fast forward through it now. It takes me probably 15-20 minutes to watch all of RAW.
I really think they need to make some changes. I would like to see them reduce the number of PPV's they have a year. Although they will never do that until they stop making money of the buy rates. |

I thought that it was a really solid Raw this week. It was hilarious when Trips forgot his WWE Title. Dibiase Jr cut a solid promo I thought, and picked up a good amount of heat for his debut promo. I'm really confused where they're going with Y2J, I'm expecting a full heel turn at ONS.

WWE RAW Preview (6/2): The Morning After
Posted in: WWE News on Jun 1, 2008 - 11:24:46 PM Source: WWE.com Preview: The Morning After June 2, 2008 While the Superstars who participated in One Night Stand last night are licking their wounds from the most Extreme pay-per-view in WWE history, everyone else is eagerly awaiting more details on Mr. McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania. The WWE Chairman has promised to give more details on the giveaway on Monday Night Raw, including how you can win $1 million from Mr. McMahon himself. The Chairman has also scheduled a press conference for Tuesday afternoon, discussing the giveaway. One person who is already a winner is Triple H, who successfully defended his WWE Championship against Randy Orton, but at great cost to their bodies. With both Superstars severely battered from their Last Man Standing Match, will the Legend Killer even be capable of rising again to compete against The Game? Also at One Night Stand, John Cena defeated JBL in a First Blood Match, causing the Longhorn Loudmouth to bleed from the mouth after a brutal match. Will the self-made millionaire let his rivalry with Cena fall by the wayside after this defeat? While JBL had a bloody mouth to tend, Shawn Michaels was injured much more seriously, as he was literally unable to walk away from his Stretcher Match with Batista. HBK has been injured before, necessitating extended recovery time spent away from WWE. What, if anything, will we see from The Showstopper on Raw, and how will he react to having his show stopped by The Animal? Santino Marella has an upcoming match with Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Cousin Sal on SmackDown. But as explained exclusively on WWE Mobile on AT&T, the Braggadocios Italian Superstar has something special in store for Sal’s training partner, WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper on Raw this week. What could Marella be planning for the living legend? And in just three short weeks, on a special three-hour Monday Night Raw, the WWE Draft will take place. All Superstars, all Divas, and all announcers from all three brands will be eligible. Where will your favorite Superstars end up, and how will it affect Monday Night Raw? For the answers to all these questions and the chance to win $1 million from the Chairman as part of Mr. McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania, be sure to tune in to WWE Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT only on the USA Network. UPDATE: Randy Orton Suffers Broken Left Collarbone Posted in: WWE News on Jun 2, 2008 - 9:42:41 AM During his match with Triple H at One Night Stand, Randy Orton took a nasty bump after being thrown over the top rope and landing on his shoulder. During the broadcast you could hear Orton tell the referee about his injury. The announcers acknowledged the injury and sold it during the PPV broadcast. Orton remained out on the floor clutching his shoulder while the referee made the ten count. Our sources tell us Orton's match with Triple H was scheduled to go a bit longer, but they went to the finish early due to Orton's injury. As soon as the match was over, medics quickly stormed ringside to check on Orton. After the match, Orton was immediately taken into a room backstage to be examined. He was then sent to a local hospital to check out the severity of the injury. UPDATE (6/2): After a visit to San Diego Medical, Randy Orton has been diagnosed with a broken left collarbone. |

New Details On Vince McMahon's "Million Dollar Mania"
Posted in: WWE News on Jun 2, 2008 - 12:52:54 PM The Associated Press published a story this morning that included new details regarding Vince McMahon's "Million Dollar Mania" giveaway. Here are the details: - The promotion begins next week on RAW (June 9). - For a chance to win a part (but not all) of the $1 million, viewers must pre-register on WWE.com and then watch the beginning of "Raw" each week to receive a special code, which viewers must tell McMahon if he calls them during the live broadcast. - The code will change each week of the promotion and will not be revealed until the beginning of each episode. - The cash will be given away as part of a "lengthy promotional sweepstakes", McMahon and the WWE told The Associated Press. - "People can view this as my own version of an economic stimulus plan to benefit our viewers," McMahon told The Associated Press. RAW *Spoiler*, Torrie Having Back Surgery Today Posted in: WWE News on Jun 2, 2008 - 4:41:21 PM -- Former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson updated her Myspace blog and wrote that she will be undergoing back surgery today: "I am going in for back surgery today and I am so very nervous. I know that I am in great hands as far as all my Dr.'s and all but it's still scary if you really think about it....I have to say that I absolutely cannot wait to feel better though and I am so damn tired of feeling crickety and fragile and not being able to be as active as I want. They are doing a new kind of surgery where they go in through your side and use a scope to take out one of my discs and replace it with something synthetic. My Dr. says that within 6 weeks I will be able to run some (which is my loooove!) and that I will be walking around tomorrow but please please please say a prayer for me today that everything will go smoothly!" -- Here's a *Spoiler* for tonight's RAW: PWInsider.com reports that WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper is backstage at RAW and is expected to be used on tonight's show. |

What You Didn't See On RAW Last Night (6/2)
Posted in: WWE News on Jun 3, 2008 - 8:17:53 AM The following is compiled from several live reports that were sent in from fans who were at RAW last night: -- The crowd was hot all night. At first, Mr. McMahon's millions got a pretty flat reaction. As Vince cut his promo thanking the WWE fans for appreciating his brand of entertainment, he won everybody over. -- As we saw briefly on television, a fan jumped into the ring during the beginning of the John Cena vs. Jeff Hardy match. The cameras quickly zoomed in on the action while four security guards restrained the fan and took him out. The crowd was very distracted during that match and many were watching the rowdy fan get escorted out instead of Cena and Hardy. Several readers noted that it appeared the fan was arrested by local police. -- After last night's edition of WWE Raw went off the air, WWE Champion Triple H & John Cena faced Umaga and JBL in a dark match main event. Hunter and Cena won the match after they hit their finishers at the same time. Cena and Triple H then stared down one another over the WWE Championship belt. Afterwards, Triple H greeted fans at ringside and gave them some high fives. |

What You Didn't See On RAW Last Night
Posted in: WWE News on Jun 10, 2008 - 9:36:49 AM The following is compiled from several live reports sent in from fans who attended last night's WWE RAW from Oakland, California: -- Former Ring of Honor champion Brian Danielson defeated Lance Cade in a dark match. Danielson was billed from Oakland and won the night's 10-minute opener with his submission finisher, Cattle Mutilation. Danielson was said to have looked great during the match and had the crowd behind him. -- If you couldn't tell on television, the crowd was absolutely dead for the Money Mania segments. Fans chanted "boring" and several readers noted that it really hurt the pacing of the show. -- The Jericho-HBK segment had great heat. This was a Cena friendly crowd. Umaga and Cryme Time also received good fan reactions. Triple H and Hardy received the best reactions of the night during the television main event. -- After RAW went off the air, the dark match main event saw John Cena team up with Triple H and Jeff Hardy to take on JBL, Umaga and Snitky in a 6-man tag. After a good 10 minute match where all 3 faces hit their signature spots, Snitsky tapped out to Cena's STFU. Cena, Triple H and Hardy stuck around and thanked the fans for coming. Triple H was the last to leave. |

You could pretty much skip half the ROH shows if Danielson left.

does Danielson have a WWE development deal...because that news of him working a dark match surprised me...and if he does have a deal then that's good for the WWE and bad for ROH...

I'd assume it could've been a try-out match, he's had them in the past. I'm surprised he won. This was surprising because we didnt see Punk do any dark matches before going to OVW, I'd imagine that if Danielson did go to WWE he'd be buried in OVW for atleast a couple months, at the least.

WWE RAW Rating Is In: Million Dollar Bust
Posted in: WWE News on Jun 11, 2008 - 11:28:23 AM The ratings are in for the June 9th edition of WWE RAW and Houston: we have a problem. With all the hype and hoopla over Mr. McMahon's Million Dollar Giveaway, this week's show did a 3.03 cable rating (down from last week's 3.06). This week's show did hourly numbers of of 2.97 and 3.09. Here are the quarter-hour ratings: 9:00 2.83 9:15 2.82 9:30 3.17 9:45 3.08 10:00 3.21 10:15 3.03 10:30 3.15 10:45 3.02 Overrun 3.00 Any way you slice it, WWE is in trouble. The company desperately needs to shake things up and a cash giveaway contest is not the answer. Million Dollar Mania was clearly a flop. Seeing this week's rating, I can't see Vince doing more than 1 more week of this. |
