There is no good argument for Punk being even half as good as Davey Boy. At this point Bulldog is super uneerrated. I could make an argument for him being better than Bret and Owen. Im hard pressed to think of anybody who could play heel and a baby face as good as Smith. Most guys are great as a heel and decent as a face or they just play a heel who would get cheered.

But Bulldog could mix it up. He could have great matches with Shawn, Bret Hart and Vader and all three matches would be different.

What is the argument for Punk?

I wouldn't say that Davey was twice as good as Punk, but I agree with Vic that he was clearly better and he is insanely underrated. What I always thought was cool about Davey was that he could alternate back and forth between power wrestler and "technical" wrestler pretty seamlessly. Not sure anyone else falls into that category.

I voted for DK in the other poll.

Having said that DBS probably is better than Dynamite.

DBS is not as good as Bret or Owen IMO.

Voted for Punk. I don't think Davey Boy trying to work "pure technical" matches is significantly more exciting than HHH doing so and find his WWE work really overated. I like him in power vs power matches like vs Vader and most of his WCW run, but not enough to put him over Punk.

He is worlds better than kid.

I said I could make an argument for him being better. But he is not better than Bret. Him and Owen are equal, depending on the day of the week. Just that if I were in the mood I could make a credible argument he was better.

Still have seen no real argument for Punk.

I agree with KillSteve, but maybe I haven't been watching the right Bulldog matches.

What are the top 10 DBS matches?

1. vs Vader

The Vader matches are up there. They will be in my top 15 Vader matches. Top 15 Vader match owns anything Punk can do. The Bret and Owen matches. I actually think some of Shawn Micheals best matches were against Bulldog. Just under Foley and Taker. After that he is just a super dependable work guy you could rely on for good solid matches. If he was put in a position to have a great match he did.

All im asking for is one real argument for Punk. What is one thing he can do better than Davey Boy except for promos?

Layout a match. CM Punk was able to get a good one hour draw out of Chris Daniels, Bulldog needed Bret to hold his hand for 20 minutes.

I find both of these statements very unlikely. IF You are referring to Summerslam 92 Bulldog was blown up. Thats different than not knowing how to put a match together.

I thought Bret carried Davey in both of their big matches, though the carry job at the IYH 95 match (which is the better match) was nowhere near as epic as the SS92 one.

Still I think Bulldog's best match was against Owen in the finals of the Euro title tournament and the last time I watched that I don't remember thinking that was a carry job at all.

The Michaels match from KOTR 96 is also a really good match that from memory was as much Bulldog as it was Michaels.
