Hi, on this thread I´m going to post everyonce in a while, stories about things that happened outside the ring, such as: fights, confrontations, pranks, etc, etc. So without further adeau let´s get it on!!

Renzo Gracie vs Ben Spijkers

This story may or may not be very well known, but here it is. Well in 1995 the first WCC (World Combat Championship) event was going to happen, and one of the big names who was in there was a Gracie Family representative, Renzo. It was drawn to be his first oponent Judo Stand-out Ben Spijkers. It seems that Mr. Spijkers decided to "play" mind games with Renzo, such as prank calling him all night long, sending room service to his room and taunting him on the press conference saying that Renzo´s eyes looked like the ones from his (Spijkers) girlfriend.
When it was time of the fight, his mind games did only one thing, enrage Renzo, who proceded to kick Spijker´ss ass, he hit him with elbows to the back of the head, ending with a Choke, leaving it up until Spijker was asleep, and in an unsportmanlike and very not Renzo Gracie, he kicked him while he was standing and stepped on his neck.
Morale of the story: do not ever, mess with Renzo.

Not directly related to what Butoku is doing but still worth mentioning.

I'm going through back issues of the WON and found this interesting Pride 2 tidbit:

- Royler Gracie was originally supposed to be Sakuraba's Pride 2 opponent but it was changed to Vernon White for no reason. Dave speculates that it is because Royler wasn't signed on to do the event when the initial fight was made. (2/23/98 WON)

Remigijus Morkevičius vs The Police

It was reported earlier this year, that Lithuanian slugger Remigijus Morkevičius was about to be serving jail time following an incident with the police, here´s the story.
It seems that Remi was with a group of friends on a night out, when they saw someone fighting a group of drunk teenagers who were vandalizing some cars, so god knows for what reason he decided to side with the teenager and attacked the man, what he didn´t knew was that said man was an out of duty police officer. For what´s known at the moment the officer was sent to the hospital because of the beating by Remi.
After that charges were pressed against him for public disturbance, with the possibility of them being upgraded to assault with a deadly weapon and resisting police arrest. Well it seems that Morkevicius was about to serve from one to two years of jail time but he was released after about three or four months after a plea to the jury.
Morkevicius is still MIA from MMA, which is a shame in my opinion.

Bas Rutten & a Friends vs Woman Beaters

This is a funny Bas one, it seems that on a night out with Bas and a friend, they saw a couple of drunk guys smacking a girl up. So as a true gentleman drunk Bas and his drunk friend stepped out in to help her. But the thing doesn´t end there, it seems that after Bas and his friend threw a couple of punches they ran away from there leaving the girl there.

Renzo Gracie vs His Daughter´s Boyfriend

This is a rare one that I´ve recently found out. It seems that the first time Renzo´s daughter went to her house with her at the time boyfriend, Renzo didn´t liked him a lot, so he started to talk to him and offered him to teach him some techniques, so when the guy obliged, Renzo put him on a Rear Naked Choke and put him to sleep.
Morale of the story: do not mess with Renzo Gracie daughter, unless you are able to withstand the consequences.

I heard this story on Inside MMA last year -- I'd definitely never miss with a Gracie girl.
