Wow, ummm....so looks like Nick Diaz is fighting BJ Penn now. Interesting.
It'll be really sad if Monson subs Fedor. I don't think it'll happen, Fedor should destroy him when they are up on their feet and Monson looks totally shot nowadays. But Monson does have world class submission skills. -------------------- |

Well it came around in a strange way but Penn/Nick is a pretty awesome fight, I actually mentioned it in passing to my brother earlier that it would be cool if this is what Dana was talking about, but I wasn't really being serious especially after all the ''maybe I'll cut him'' talk from Dana.
And a loss to Monson would definitely be a low point, I mean at least the previous losses were to reasonable opponents, I'm pretty sure that Fedor will win too though. |

Cruz hitting Mighty Mouse with a german suplex.
![]() Fantastic main event. I don't see anyone beating Cruz for years to come. -------------------- |

Anyone here see Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn? Awesome fight, I was rooting for Diaz, but never thought he would destroy Penn's face like that. Dude is insane and the coolest fighter in the UFC. He fought and won the exact same style of fight he's been known for, except the fact that he did it to Penn this time and it is so fucking great.
According to FightMetric, Nick Diaz how holds the record for most significant strikes landed in a UFC bout. Look up those FightMetric numbers, they are ridiculous. Condit is cool and all, but I'm glad they pushed him out of the fight, and put Diaz is now fighting GSP. Also, Cerrone continues to look great in the UFC. Nice to see the WEC boys in Ben Henderson and Cerrone get so close to title shots. -------------------- |

Didn't think the card was great overall but the main event was pretty amazing, definitely lived up to my expectations, which is saying something. Pretty competitive in the first but Diaz just blow Penn away from there on out, the combinations he was throwing were ridiculous. there was one were he laid into him with four rapid shots to the body and I swear BJ was done afterwards just totally blown up and out of it.
Agree with this as well, Penn has some of the best boxing in the UFC so it was shocking to see him taken apart like that. On another note sad to see Cro Cop go out like that with the Fedor like busted up face, well not Fedor bad, not really unexpected though. Random cool suplex from a couple of nights ago, can't seem to post gifs in the image tags anymore http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg176/d...if?t=1319918531 |

Man, I picked JDS to win but I'm pretty suprised how it went down, just ran right through Cain. The Henderson/Guida fight was pretty great, especially Henderson's performance, showed amazing TDD, some great kicks and just looked like a killer. Fight with Edgar should be pretty wild.

Yeah, shocked to see JDS win soo easily. I watched all the prelims on Facebook, but I still think it's lame that Fox only showed a 64 second fight. Benson Henderson is awesome, great fight with Guida and it's nice to know he's fighting Frankie Edgar for the lightweight crown in Japan in February. Henderson-Edgar should be an amazing 25 minute title fight.

Also, I feel bad for Marquez. That bummed me and my buddies out tonight.

Over here, and I'm assuming other international brodcasts, we got the Guida fight then JDS then the brutal Johnson knockout so I really dug the hour long show. Can't really see how talking instead of showing some fights made sense, as everyone else has said the Henderson fight would've been an ideal introduction.
Also thought Marquez was robbed. I mean I'm a huge Pacquiao fan but at the end I was sure Marquez would get, a deserved, decision. The Prescott fight on the undercard was killer. |

![]() I like Cerrone, but watching Nate Diaz clown on him and break the FightMetric record for most significant strikes landed in a UFC bout was pretty fucking amazing. This was equally as great as Nick Diaz vs BJ Penn. 2011 ending with both Diaz Bros. as title contenders in the UFC is pretty great. -------------------- |

Hey Mike, you need to see Frankie Edgar vs Benson Henderson from tonight. Henderson tried to take off Edgar's head off with an Owen Hart-style enziguri (Edgar barely ducked), knocked him down badly with an upkick, went for awesome guillotine chokes, cool scrambles and kicked the shit out of him. After the fight, Henderson referenced his fight with Cerrone saying he learned the upkick from that. Another awesome Henderson fight, which might lead to him fighting Anthony Pettis in a rematch, but this time for the UFC title as opposed to the WEC title. Watching Henderson go from the WEC champion to UFC champion has been a great journey.
Also, Pettis' performance was awesome. Henderson-Pettis II will be incredibly competitive. -------------------- |

The whole show was really great outside the Rampage fight, which I expected to bomb anyway. I went nuts for that Boetsch comeback.

Awesome show, main event ruled. Rampage fight was sad, Bader is beyond boring. I mean yeah he beat Rampage and all but he'll always have a loss against a shot Tito on his record. Really liked the Shields fight, very good performance from him, although listening to commentary you'd think he wasn't landing anything at all. Clear he won I thought, the throws from Akiyama were beautiful though. Speaking of commentary, Rogan sounded like an idiot harping on about Edgar dropping down in weight. Then he asked him about it right after the guy lost his title in a close(ish) decision. Oh yeah, the Tamura KO was brutal.

Good showing from Jones, he was never in any danger, though he got clipped once, and Rashad had nothing for him. Not his most impressive performance but he still dominated and scored a few brutal shots. Can't see Henderson having anything either to be honest, unless he scores something amazing within twenty seconds.
Hominick/Yagin was pretty awesome, both dudes took a beating and didn't stop swinging, thought it was the right decision. Rory MacDonald looked like a total killer, almost felt bad for Mills, this was a slaughter. Schaub trying to get the invisible man into his guard was pretty funny. Torres still hasn't shown anything in the UFC. |

Nate Diaz causing Jim Miller to bite his own tongue with a picture perfect guillotine was great nasty shit. Fuck, Nate is great.

Looks like this board has been dead lately. After a ton of issues in 2012, I think UFC may have everything together for the end of the year & 2013. GSP will finally be back & fight Condit, Diaz-Bendo and JDS-Velasquez II are good title fights, and then next year they've set up or are setting up matches like Aldo-Edgar, the Jones-Sonnen TUF, and hopefully JDS-Overeem finally.
