I must be the only dude on this board who doesn't like Mysterio. I thought he was bogus in the Rumble.

Your not. He's okay when he's in with the right people but he added nothing to the rumble match. The Rumble was a mess and too many guys were in the ring in the middle section of the match. Best match was Melina/Beth.

How does someone like Chikara and then dislike Mysterio? Anyway, Mysterio was a workhorse throughout the rumble - he was continuously teasing eliminations.

What does Mysterio have to do with Chikara? How come every time someone criticizes a luchador you have to bring up someone that's not one of your favorites?

And teasing eliminations is only good the first 50 times, when guys like Cody Rhodes are doing it, it's gets boring.

Teasing eliminations are nearfalls, Tim.

Havent been a huge Rey Mysterio fan post WCW myself.

I dont think he did a bad job in the rumble. I think maybe if the announcers played up the fact that he was a RR winner and the longest lasting superstar in a rumble ever that it would have made his time in the match a lot more important.

I also think there were way too much of Teasing eliminations. I mean it wasn't that bad but the fact that the announcers were talking about it bothered me.

My biggest problem...With Big Show , Kane , Undertaker , HHH and Randy Orton and his two balls as the last 8 guys you would think there would have been more interactions between these guys. I mean did HHH and Undertaker even go at it?

I thought it was pretty good. Nothing special but it was still solid. If it was me I would have booked The Legacy as the last 3 men in the ring with Ted and Cody eliminating themselves as their final test. The amount of shit the fans would have gave them would have been insane if done correctly.

Oh and am I the only one who think HHH hates Kendrick? He single handedly killed most of Kendricks momentum in the Elimination Chamber and he just had to make a show of him tonight.

Still have to watch the first 3 matches to see how they were.

That's always been bullshit logic to me. "How can you like this if you don't like that?" Or like when discussing music, "How can you like this band? This other band did it first/better/influenced them/etc."

Why does that matter? Those aren't the things I like, it's the other things. Same logic to CHIKARA. I don't HAVE to like lucha to like CHIKARA. That's such nonsensical reasoning.

I've never been a huge Rey fan, I think he gets over-rated way too much. Him and Morrison tangled for a bit, it was fun and then he did like...jack shit of interest to me.

To be fair, I don't HATE the dude, but he's not one of the guys I go out of my way to see. Mainly because when he's good, he is very good. I really liked his feud with Chavo as they worked well together and even though I'm not a big Knox fan (he's growing on me pretty quick, especially with his promo a week ago) I'm liking their stuff so far. I just find a lot of his offense repetitive or...straight up bad. I dunno, his fucking springboard crotch-to-face attack bugs me, as I'm always like "How does that...not suck for him?" I realize it's supposed to be a seated senton, but he doesn't make it look like that. And the 619 and any variation of it always makes me groan.

I don't mind him against other cruisers or guys who can go with him. His match with Michaels v. Mizzison, his other work with Bourne, like...the dude is great in that. But WWE continuously works him in underdog matches against huge guys and...goddammit I am sick of those matches. They bore the hell out of me. He's an alright seller, but I don't love seeing him sell entire matches to hit a comeback offense or what-have-you. His matches just repeat so much to me. I just think his matches against big men are SO boring and a lot of it is because of his offense. I just see the same thing out of him every time, and not in a good "Misawa throws awesome elbows" or "Regal does the same moves in every match, but it's always entertaining and brutal" kinda way.

I may not be explaining it too well, but I just don't click with him. I find his offense lame looking more often than not. Or repetitive. Dude just doesn't do much for me when he's not going 100 miles an hour.

Well he kind of laid out his reasons, I flat out disagree with barubary, but at least he's not saying "I JUST HATE HIM" I'm sure most on here disagree with barubary for the most part as well; but are we to fault the guy cause he rather watch Vick Gerard over Rey-Rey? Well I personally do, but you shouldn't or maybe you probably should cause that is pretty horrendous. What I mean is.. well I don't know, he's gotten enough shit from me on his taste for about the last year, so carry on Silver King. My apologies for interrupting.

I thought petty squabbling over who likes what was for the inferior wrestling boards like LOP, DVDR & SSS? Isn't WKO meant to be some kind of Bohemian Grove for all of us Jewish Banker wrestling fans to discuss stuff about without the flame war stuff?

Just because I'm not a fan of the guy dosnt mean I can't recognize him putting on a good match.

The Lakers are a good basketball team does that automatically mean I should be a fan of theirs?

Rey is good and what he does and has it in him to be great. There just isn't much he has done since joining the WWE that I have liked. I hated his title run and it was one of the worst booked titled reigns ever ( No fault of his own mind you ) and the angle with Eddie I thought was shit and the only saving grave was Eddie and his ability to work promos so well. The whole story line was complete crap to me...the matches themselves were pretty damn good but at the end of the day matches , promos , skits and everything else that went into it just didn't do it for me.

I thought Rey vs. Bourne was awesome...I thought the feud with Kane was garbage. ( Again no fault on Reys part ) I just think the WWE has pushed him the wrong way and giving him such shitty programs that I just can't say I'm a fan of what they have him doing.

Do I think he is a bit overrated by some? Yea but that's the case for everyone. There will always be a handful of wrestlers who are overrated by the fans. Do I look down on people for not liking Rey or a Rey match? Not at all because I know people don't share the same exact opinion as I do.

But let this be known...nothing the WWE has done with him was as bad as WCW sticking him in the Filthy Animals...that shit and him losing his mask is what really started my dislike for Rey the on screen character.

Oh and I have been watching him wrestle for over 10 years now...any wrestler I have been watching that long usually slides down my list of wrestlers I MUST see. I'm lucky I can like a guy for 3 months or so with my ADD.

Yea I know its dumb but I get bored very easily.

Him in overalls without his mask was absolutely horrible. So was Kidman hanging around in his Tommy Hilfiger shorts (like that was suppose to make him hip).

Kidman is to easy to make fun of. Gonna leave that one alone.

Yeah the only time that I didn't dig Mysterio was during that 1999-2000 period. I haven't seen that stuff in about a decade but I remember his Waltman-esque offense coming off very sloppy and he looked so unmotivated. I think I remember a good Chavo-Mysterio match from early 2001, that was when Chavo was pretty much the WCW MVP having fun matches with everyone. But his WWE run has blown away all his previous work, and he is the KING of WWE TV matches.

I have this one friend that I've known since I was 4 years old, that is convinced that Mysterio is one of the most embarrassing wrestlers ever and blames Mysterio for the bad way WWE books him at times. This friend, while a nice guy, onced jumped the rail and got his head stomped in by Adam Pearce at an NWA show. Also for some reason he thinks Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas are two of the greatest workers of this era!?!

Mysterio was pretty much the MVP of the Rumble last night, which I thought was pretty fun but it could have been much better.

Ugh, WGTT marks are everywhere. They're worse than Angle marks. People that thought Kidman was the best cruiserweight ever sicken me too.

WGTT benefit from starting as a team in 03 when Smackdown had a really good tag roster. They were able to work with the Guerreros, Eddy and Tajiri, Kidman and Rey, Ultimo and Funaki and London and Kendrick. So people overlook their shitty Raw run and make excuses.

What bugged me about them is they could have good matches if hey were winning. But were awful if jobbing. Guys like that are useless.

Rey back in 2000 was really bad. Him and Juvi had an unbeliveably bad match on Thunder. I only remember it because I could not believe those were the same guys who a year before were gurranteed to have a good match. Chavo basiclly carried him in that Superbrawl match.

WGTT ruled. Of course they were in there with Eddie and Rey but they held up their end. They started going down hill when they left Angle.
