Title: MOTW1: Silver King's Pick
Silver King - May 11, 2008 09:36 AM (GMT)
The match surprised me. It was a great 8 minute tv match. I dig current Undertaker and his use of the googoplata. I'm not sure how good Festus was prior to his wwe run, but this match is really Festus coming on his own as a singles wrestler. It wasn't Undertaker carrying Festus.

^Yeah
That match was a blast. The length was key, cause five minutes more and it would have lost it's appeal.

I wrote something about this match on the other board. Undertaker being forced to choke out the simpleton at the end was really the perfect finish to the match. This would be higher on my 2008 MOTY list if both guys knew how to throw convincing punches.

Yeah all the adjusting of the cameras when ever a punch is thrown is fucking annoying.

My favorite part of the match is the very beginning where Festus does his transformation, then UT kicks him right in the head. I liked how that established UT wouldn't be taking any shit from Festus, and I think it made Festus look better by coming back against a prepared/motivated UT. I thought the finish was well-booked. Striking is hit and miss (figuratively and literally), but it's a WWE match, what do you expect? Good dominant midcarder vs. dominant main eventer tv match.

This. I like the sense of ranking you get with this match. WWE's always had it, but it's either really subtle or REALLY overt (like 14 on 2 handicap matches), and this is more the former.
And Festus' throw-your-weight-around offense is better than any present day chubster.
