Title: 3rd Place Round 3
Description: NJ vs Gaijin

Team Gaijin lost to All Japan so if they win, it's over. If Team NJ wins, NJ vs AJ will be for 2nd place.

Damn this would be an amazing NJ-style elimination tag.

I think that ultimately it boils down to Hansen vs Fujiwara.

Fujiwara vs Funk, in my opinion. I don't recall Hansen being an excellent singles worker in the 80s.

Funk is my GOAT and I see Hansen, Fujiwara and Fujinami as rough equals. If pressed I would probably rate Fujiwara first, Hansen second and Fujinami third out of that bunch but I don't feel at all comfortable with that.

To me I went with NJPW team because of Saito and Choshu. I have soured on Murdoch dramatically over the years, and I'm in the middle of watching a lot of U.S. Saito which is WAY better than I would have guessed. I would honestly take Saito and Choshu over Murdoch at this point and over Race as well though I like Harley more than most around here. Having said that I haven't seen the Mid-South set (though I have seen a lot of the matches on it) and perhaps my opinion of Murdoch would revert back if I had.

I'll close this tomorrow. If NJ wins, they get the 4 corners!

I thought Murdoch looked like a legitimate GOAT contender on the Mid South set. I was pretty disappointed by his showings on the NJPW set in comparison, but he was consistently amazing throughout all of his Mid South matches that were on there. And that includes a wide variety to the styles of matches he was working.

Funk is probably my all-time favorite as well, and while I really dig Fujinami I don't think he's quite on Hansen or Murdoch's level. So for me the gaijin team narrowly took this. I could certainly see it going either way though.
