Raven had that one good match against Rhyno and I think Benoit carried him to something watchable in WCW.

I think Raven can be underrated by some (and overrated by others), but he hasn't delivered the career-length goods on the level that Jericho has in as many different settings. Heck, come to think of it, I'd say Raven's last really good match in WCW was with Jericho at Halloween Havoc 98.

Yeah at Souled out 98 and the DDP/Benoit/Raven triple threat.

The Raven who talks about ring psychology for hours in those ROH shoots is a great worker. Too bad the Raven who goes into the ring tends to suck. He's not particularly good at any aspect except for the rare instances when he puts together a good/unique story for a match.

Raven/Terry Gordy is my favorite match ever so voting for Raven. Was also in that tag match with Saturn vs Malenko and some guy, which is really better than almost anything Jericho has ever done.

Raven's act ages worse than anything else in ECW - and think of the ground that covers - but he was pretty capable in the ring through his WCW run. Not taking him over Jericho, but still.

Jericho easily. Even Raven matches like the Benoit match and the hardcore match with Rhyno don't do much of anything for me.

I used to love that Raven/Benoit match where Raven passes out laughing. Of course it creeps me out nowadays.

Jericho was better in the 90's. Jericho is better this decade as well. In fact Raven has had one good match this decade and that was a carry job by Jarrett.

Jingus - May 23, 2009 12:07 AM (GMT)
He's had more than one. Some of the hardcore stuff in the WWF was fun, he had a few tolerable brawls in TNA, and of course there was the series with Punk in ROH. But still, yeah, nowhere near as good as the work Jericho's put out in the same span of time.

the series with Punk in ROH.

Which was some decent booking around mediocre-to-bad matches. Granted, Punk in '03 was a notch below Punk in '04, but still.

I've seen about half of them (the singles match that started the feud, the tag with Cabana and Danielson, and the dog collar match) and I wouldn't call any of those bad. I heard their cage matches were drizzleshits, but haven't seen those.

You know something funny? Watch whichever ROH shoot that Raven did about psychology and booking. He talks for at least half an hour stragiht about that dog-collar match, going into insanely specific detail about the finish. Then watch the match itself. Either Scott Levy has the worst memory on the planet, or he was lying his ass off about the entire thing, because practically everything he said about how that match went was exactly the opposite of what actually happened.

He had a good 2001. He was also in a good ECW title match with Justin Credible in 2000.

Raven is the type of guy who complains about the lack of psycology in wrestling when his whole career was based around mindless ECW weaponfests. He's had some good matches, I enjoyed the fued-ender with Punk and some of his early TNA work and so on, but even at his best Jericho has always been notches above him.

I hate that real lazy table spot Raven seems to do regularly in the last few years, especially in TNA, where he acts like it's an elbow drop but it's more of him just leaning forward and falling through the table.
