I've been stuck on this level for a few months, and I get the thing you megaphone and the pop culture reference, and I get what's wrong with the name of the file, but I don't know how to put the clues together. How do I get to the intermediate steps?

First time posting on weffriddles, though this is my second time solving the riddles. I think I solved most of them 4 or 5 years ago.
Started again yesterday morning, and am now here, at level 44. Proud! Just wanted to give people a heads up that you shouldn't search for the first part of this riddle on google, as the top suggestion is a spoiler referring to the weffriddle solution (you don't have to click the link, it's right there in google). Ruined it for me, as the first word I saw made me remember the solution. And searching is kind of required on this one, unless you happen to know the reference. You'll have to get around using google somehow. Congrats on making one of the best sites on the internet, mr weffriddles. Edit: Removed some thinking out loud. On to 45. I solved this a few years ago, but the only record that survived stopped after lvl 38. >_<
I think I'm at the last step for this lvl, but I'm stuck there... anybody around these days that I can pm? -------------------- After an untimely computer death, I had to start over at level 39. But I FINALLY BEAT 54!!!! WOOOOO!

wow - didn't know anyone still used this - ah, so glad! I started the riddles a few years ago (2009, i think), and not sure where i got up to then (i only kept notes up to level 38, but pretty sure i recognise some of the levels after that) and came back to it yesterday.
i've managed to work my way through to the 4th part of this level - megaphoned; then got the things from the different type of what the megaphoned answer is (after lots of wiki-ing of the pop culture reference, but also caught out by the [snip] part, so trying to find where the megaphoned part exists beyond the culture ref); *anyways* went through the whole lot, got the screen from that (white text on black background, with a three word question as the title.
