`grand strand
The Grand Strand is the best of the best when it comes to living in Long Beach. It isn't a gated community because all of the properties have the beach along their property line and each estate has it's own personal gate. Not too shabby, huh. These houses are like the ones seen on cribs. It really doesn't get any better than this.

`hollifield
Hollifield is another one of the elites. This gate community is situated around three miles away from the ocean. The housing sites are large [averaging 2 acres a lot] and plentiful.

`kensington circle
Kensington Circle houses the low to middle classes of Long Beach, which are few and far between. The houses are neat little ranches with 2 car garages and a yard big enough for a swingset and playing room. They certainly aren't mansions but are nice regardless.

`usc main
The University of Southern California's University Park campus is located 3 miles south of downtown LA, and 22 miles north of Long Beach. The drive takes around a half hour depending on the speed you drive. The university itself is a historical landmark and the grounds are beautiful, reminiscent of a park.

`the aquarium
Here is the local aquarium. On contrary to most aquariums, this isn't as much of a show and informational exhibit for the family as it is a sanctuary. Many come here on dates or to think and get away from the world for a while. The balooga, whales, Bob and Mandy, are a main attraction. The place is so calm, that is open 24/7/365.

`cabanna
Cabanna is set right on the beach. At night, there is a fence that goes straight into the clear blue water, marking the dance floor. The mood is very mellow, just like the islands themselves. Cabanna is open from 6pm till sunrise. The waiters wear lifeguard attire and some of Abercrombie's finest work here. Well, maybe they don't actually work for Abercrombie but they have the looks and please the ladies.

` common square dormatories
The Common Square is a selection of dorms for USC students located in Long Beach. Seeing as USC is located eight in the middle of the city, there aren't possibly enough dorms to go around and a lot of students can't afford apartments. Others just perfer to be outside of the city. So the solution was to build dorms all over LA County. There are dorms in Santa Monica, all over La, Malibu and more. There is a commute but it's a lot cheaper than toughing it in an apartment.

`the parkplace™
The Parkplace™ has been here for years and years. This mini amusment park is nestled right on the boadwalk next to the beach. It features rides such as Chasing Rainbows which gives you a breathtaking view of the ocean at night and 2 fast paced roller coasters. The Parkplace™ has seen it's better days but it still has life after all of these years. Better come quick though! The Parkplace's™ days might just be numbered if the city has anything to do with it.

`wilmington cove
Found at the southern end of the beach. Wilmington Cove is a natural rock formation. It has many open tunnels and nice openings. The water comes right up to the edge. This is a fab place to hang out. Either to camp of have a small get-together with a makeshift fire pit in the sand. Or come here with your significant other for your own purposes. Either way. Wilmington Cove is always welcoming.
