POSTING:
Post messages in the appropriate forum, and read the previous posts to avoid duplicate topics. Cross-posting is also a no-no; there is no need to post the exact same message in multiple threads and/or multiple boards. Moving and deleting of topics will be done without question at the moderators discretion. Some areas have specific guidelines – please read all sticky posts at the top of each forum before posting.
ADULT CONTENT:
Adult content is strictly not allowed on the boards; we try to keep the board content PG. The only exception to this rule is the Fan Fiction board, where every piece of fiction posted must contain a ratings warning on the subject line.
RESPECT:
Tone does not always come across well on the net, so jokes and sarcasm may not be received as intended. Posts about a LotR cast/crew member that comes off as offensive or causes a hostile environment will be edited/locked/deleted. Posts aimed at dissing or ganging up at other members will be immediately deleted. If you can't let the issue go, take it elsewhere like private messaging and e-mail. If you feel the issue is serious and needs to be addressed by a mod, please LET US KNOW. Before contacting us, please take a moment to review -- was it completely unsolicited, or are you at fault as well by contributing to the issue? We also request some sort of back up [ex. copy of a post transcript] in regards to your claim.
Needless to say, disrespecting a moderator or an administrator will lead to serious consequences.
NETSPEAK:
No. No, no, no. I repeat, no. It's annoying, and it creates the impression that you're very young or possibly even half-witted. You could be Einstein for all we know, and have the most brilliant idea/theory/observation since the beginning of time. That is completely negated by use of netspeak. We recommend using the spell check feature. Also, dO NoT pOSt LikE tHiS!1!!1
AVATARS & SIGNATURES:
Avatars are limited in size to 100 x 100 pixels. Please also keep any text in your signature to a minimum (which means an additional line or two if you have an image, or a maximum of six lines is normal size if it's a purely text signature). Failure to comply with this rule will result in being unable to have an avatar and/or signature. No porn allowed!
MISC RULES
1. NO SLASH! Slash is sick and I would like to keep it off my board.
2. Be nice to newbies! I really dislike the forums who make fun of and eat newbies alive. I would like to keep my board a very friendly place.
