Playful barks erupted from the yard as the sound of paws slamming in the snow could be heard. There was a blur, a flash, a couple of snaps, and then, the two finally halted. One of the dogs was pure white, as untainted as the snow itself. Another one was finely built, her feminine muscles rippling through her Husky coat. She was half-white, and half-black. White on the bottom, black on the top.
Her amber eyes sparkled as she panted, yet White Devil was still rearing to go. "Come on, Angel! YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT!" He playfully growled, his hazel eyes glimmering. "We've gotta practice. We're the Swing Dogs, we're the-" "Yes, you've told me a lot, Devil. We're the nerves for the brain. We've gotta help the Lead Dogs, I know, I know."
The two wagged their tails and walked in the trampled yard, talking about gossip and rumors- especially racing rumors. "..You hear that thing about the stupid wolf attacking sleds? They say he killed someone!" Angel rolled her eyes. "Oh, please, Devil. It was a wolfdog, not a wolf. Besides, he'll get shot before you can say 'Iditarod'." Devil listened to his sister and nodded. "Stupid wild wolfdog. I guess he thinks he really IS a wolf."
"Race?" White Devil suddenly charged off without warning, followed by Black Angel. Before long, they were side by side, with the exact same footsteps, panting. They truly were one being, in a way. Ebony and ivory. Black and white. Good and evil. Side by side.
