Shipbucket will be converting to PHPBB software sometime soon. This means any time between tonight and several years from now, depending on my schedule and whether or not I can be assed to mess with it.
Reasons being: 1. InvisionFree has no substantial legal protection for items posted on this forum; 2. I'd like to get off of free forum software and onto something more professional; 3. Shipbucket.com/forum is a lot easier to remember than z11.invisionfree.com/shipbucket; 4. Better admin controls to prevent morons like Turkishnavyguy from coming back; 5. More up-to-date software, a lot easier to use; 6. It's just that time. No, the content posted here will NOT be accessible on the new board, though I will maintain this forum as long as possible as an archive. Thoughts before we proceed? |

I'd recommend the following: 1. Admins are notified first, then Mods, then Elite then Premium, then everyone else Maybe even let major, non-premium members in on it before the rest of the population knows. This way we don't get hit with a lot of people potentially loosing their account names. 2. Locking down the board on the way out, so that while the archive is maintained, it doesn't get spammed up.
phpBB is free, and often more powerful than IPB (which costs a whole lot). |
