I like the ships, but I have a few silly questions:

1. Why the Oto-Melara 127mm over the 5" Mk-45?

2. Is that the new Standard missile you've hinted that you've been working on?

3. Why does the write-up for the Kidd say Sea Sparrow, when you show Standard ;)?

1. The Oto 127mm has about double the ROF of Mk 45, making it quasi-useful in AAW and worth two US mounts in surface fire. I was going to use the proposed US Mk 65 5/54 but decided to go with something actually in service.
2. It's been in circulation for some time; I wouldn't consider it "new"... but yes, apparently.
3. Copy/paste fail; fixed.

We have a new Standard missile? Why wasn't I informed?

Now who gets to go back and replace every drawing of it for conformity?

Fortunately, I'm not asking you to ever upload these. I think you can go ahead and untwist your panties.

Missiles, guns, radars and stuff gets updated time to time..

There is no reason to get exited about it. It's everyone's own decision if they want to update their previous drawings with new systems or not. None should be forced to it, but then again, updating systems shouldn't be banned becouse someone doesen't want to update his old drawings.

Erik's also got his own version of the Mk71, which looks not only rather interesting, but quite cool too. I really think that looks pretty wicked, man. Does this mean we've gotta rip every single Mk71... ok so there's not that many mk71's used, but hey, it's a point I'm trying to make. Chill.

Sweet stuff, Erik. Love the way they look, certainly gets rid of the massively vertical feel with the way you rearranged the radars and stuff. Interesting you put the BFG on the stern though.

Oops, missed the :P smiley. That was sarcasm.

I swear, you guys read way too far into my posts to bring out the real asshole in me. :P

I should just start putting a "EVERYTHING I SAY IS USUALL SARCASM SO DON'T GET OFFENDED HURR" in my signature so you'll all leave me alone about shit.

That said, I think everyone in here needs to fucking relax. I'm not out to get you. Stop trying to make it that way.

Thanks :)

That Mk 71 is actually completely made up; it's got no bearing on reality. The one on the weapons sheets is actually pretty solid.

I actually would love to be able to, myself, go through the US (and US-systems-using) drawings and update the radars and missiles, without making anybody else screw around with re-uploads. I don't know a good way to bring that about; it would feel inappropriate to ask for upload ability for a few hours.

If you were talking about the old Photobucket account you'd GET that uploading capability from me, but I've got no say over the shipbucket.com site...

Oh I know it's entirely made up, I've got two such 8" modern guns for a build project that's on the shelf that I'm labelling as the Mk71 Mod 2 just for posterity.

If you want to do it, all you really need to do is download the originals, make the changes, and then place them all in a folder and email them to me. Then all I have to do is literally click and drag them over onto the FTP and it's done.

It's not the uploading per se that's such a pain in the ass, it's the renaming of files, categorization, and the actual fixing the drawings that's difficult. If everything's ready to go in a folder all I have to do is click and drag. :P

I'll do that, then, if only because the old FRESCAN drawings pain me so :P

Can I send a zip folder with a entire nation? I want to fix the flag and the helos principally.
