Title: New Maestrale Frigate
Description: the newest italian NB project

From the hull of Maestrale frigate and the experience of FREMM superstructure, Fincantieri propose for export market a cheaper frigate between the expensive FREMM/Bergamini class and MOSAIC corvette.
The result is a 134 m, 4000 tons vessel with 1 127/64 LW, 32 VLS for Aster missile I suppose with EMPAR MFR (but I don't exclude the SM-2/Mk-41 compatibility) or the small and cheaper brother KRONOS MFR.
Over the hangar seem to be on starbord side a 76/62 with a radar near the helopad, the main problem is the low res reference rendering <_< . I think this is a strange solution but maybe there's another gun on port side

4,000 tons is still pretty big - at least 1,000 tons on top of an OHP.

I think the gun placement on this thing is better than on its bigger counterparts, actually.

Looks kinda useless against the FREMM, is it not?

If the 76/62 is 1, the gun arrangement is the same of FREMM

Essentially is only a cheaper version of FREMM on a well proven hull for foreign navy that cann't buy and manage the major syster.

Do you have any link to the "real" thing, even poor pictures or a PDF?
