Do not start fights with other members. You don�t have to agree with their opinions, but you do need to respect them. When taking criticism, remember that you as the writer ultimately have control over your writing. Do not take a particularly harsh critique as a personal attack. Also, if you can�t take it, don�t dish it out either. That simple. THIS MEANS NO FLAMES. ORIGINALITY. This should go without saying. Do not post the work of others as your own. Do not �recycle� ideas and characters from other authors. Do not take anyone else�s work from this website and use it as your own. This is unethical, and unfortunately, far too common in the online world. If you are caught doing this, you will be banned. Simple. If you are writing fan fiction, please, credit the original author or creator of your universe. I don�t have the kind of money to put up a fight against J.K. Rowling in court, so please, credit the original creators! PATIENCE. The staff will do their best to get personalized subforums put up, keep the challenges updated, and generally keep the site running smoothly. Please, do not nag them to hurry up if for some reason this gets delayed. There�s a lot of work to do, and sometimes things like school and college applications get in the way of things. Things will be taken care of, and most likely, within a few days. Just be patient. Also, if you are collaborating with someone or waiting for them to fill a graphics request, be patient. Good work takes time. You want their work to be good, don�t you? Then by all means, avoid nagging them. However, if it has been over two weeks and you haven�t had any contact with them? By all means, nag your little heart out. If you�re lucky, it�ll do some good, if not�find someone else. REGISTRATION. Please register your account with what your prefer to go by online, and what other members of the forum should refer to you as, essentially your nom de plume, preferably all in uppercase letters and ending with a period. For instance; TALLIE. is best. Tallie. tallie. and tallie are okay. If you registered wrong, don�t worry, just PM an administrator and they will take care of it for you. Also please do not put `` at the beginning of your username, as this is reserved for administrators. GRAPHICS. Graphics are what makes a forum beautiful. Help to beautify us! Just don't stretch the frames of the board, and everything should be good. The best size for signatures is probably 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall. Please don't use more than 6 100 x 100 icons in your signature, and no more than 3 150 x 150. Avatars can be up to 100 x 100. Also, if you didn't make your own stuff, it'd be really great to credit whoever did. ;] RATING. This board is rated PG-13 without a tag on the post. However, if you intend to go beyond that, please just tag the topic title. People are going to read your writing, and if they object to the content within, with a tag on the post, they�ll know not to. It should keep everyone happy. However, if this becomes an issue, cases will be handled on a case by case basis. So just don't abuse it, and everything should be fine! SPELLING AND GRAMMAR. This is a literate forum full of writers.. Proper spelling and grammar are necessities, especially in the galleries where you showcase your work. If you struggle with spelling or basic grammar, I�m sure there are plenty of people willing to give you a lesson. If it truly becomes a problem, seek out a mentor. In the general discussion, it doesn't really matter if you remembered to capitalize all of your proper nouns or whatever, but please don't use chatspeak. Chatspeak is demeaning to the English language, and whoever invented it needs to crawl back into the hole from whence they came. Of course, everyone is capable of typographical errors. It's not a huge deal, but if you notice something and it changes the context of a sentence, the edit button is always there for you. Make friends with it. ADVERTISING. Advertising this board is very cool. By all means, do it. However, for those wishing to advertise here, please keep those advertisements to the guest friendly ad section, in the proper subforum. Nowhere else. Invisionfree boards only please, and if you post here, have a place for us to post back. If you're feeling super nice, you could always post our ad for us on your board, but that's not totally necessary in any way.
