The Lord of the Rings did an amazing job adapting the books and opening them up for a wider audience. I'm a Tolkien nut who's read everything by the man that I can, my friend's never even read The Hobbit and we both adore the movies.

I'm going to say that Atonement is a wonderful movie. But I've never read the book...

I am really hoping and praying that the new Watchmen movie is faithful to the graphic novel. If it's faithful, it'll at least be *decent* by default. biggrin.gif *crosses fingers*

The Green Mile is probably the only movie I've ever seen that surpasses the beauty of the book-- and to begin with the book is poignant and lovely. I guess I'll always have a soft spot for John Coffey.

I thought V for Vendetta was alright... not the best movie I've ever watched. Then again, I've never read the graphic novel.

I loved Stardust! I didn't know that was also a book. I need to get my hands on that!
