This is a rant of sorts about my leaving the second RP I've ever joined. Actually, it's a thread to be linked to so that people on that site don't have to read what I have to say here, but can if they do. It's just a summary of a lot that been bugging me, described in an IM conversation I had with my fellow-admin (who really should be posting here *rolls eyes*), DocSeuss.

MatrixTamer03 (3:17:19 PM): Just recent OOC occurances... For instance, one members who's only 17 posted that she was pregnant and therefore wouldn't be on much. Then everyone started congratulating her. When I posted saying it wasn't right for them to congratulate her because of the circumstances, I got a nice long PM about how I should be more tolerant to members and such.

MatrixTamer03 (3:20:23 PM): I could understand the PM if I'd been attacking her, but I wasn't (at least, not as far as I could see). Everything I'd said was completely respectable, if not a bit harsh. But then I started a joke thread against WoW, 'cause some of the members there play it a lot, and everyone started taking offense at it.

MatrixTamer03 (3:22:54 PM): THEN (and this is both the most recent and most ridiculous) in a thread about the new HP book, I commented that I didn't like the hype, especially since Harry Potter isn't all that epic of a series anyways. It's a good series, but it's still just a fad. Along with that, I made a comment that I didn't especially like the events in the sixth book. Then one of the admins responded saying "you can't change what's canon, so if you don't like what's in the books, stop moaning about it just don't read them."

MatrixTamer03 (3:28:15 PM): If this were any other RP (with the exception of Digital Dreams, of course), I'd be formally gone by now. The problem is this is the second RP I've EVER joined. I've been revived from the original twice now, and on its second location I was one of the two admins who built up the board. And some of these same admins that I'm clashing with now are people who I've RPed with for four or three years. One of them was the player of Akiko back in the days of Frontier RPG. So... yeah. I kind of feel like leaving the site, formally and for good (for I've lapsed into inactivity, sometimes which lasted months, but I've never actually said "I'm leaving") would be like abandoning the history there. Which I really don't want to do.

MatrixTamer03 (3:30:51 PM): Is, was, sort of... I'm not sure anymore. Going into that is opening up a whole new can of worms which I probably should at some point but definitely don't want to now.

MatrixTamer03 (3:56:17 PM): I think I have new evidence I should leave. A wolf pack I have characters in was going on a hunt, but I didn't know if they ever did 'cause the preparation thread died. I talked to the admin who also plays the alpha, and she said "we just pretended."

MatrixTamer03 (3:56:37 PM): I think that shows that I've outgrown the style of RPing, for better or worse.
MatrixTamer03 (3:57:16 PM): Ah, well. It was fun while it lasted. Though I suppose I should make a full confrontation on the matter before I leave, or I'll regret doing so.
TehSeuss (3:57:26 PM): if you were an admin who set up one version... why aren't you an admin?
MatrixTamer03 (3:57:57 PM): Because, I went inactive for a time during which proboards shut down the board, and so a new staff team re-built it.
MatrixTamer03 (3:58:26 PM): When I came back, I was made mod for awhile, but then I decided I didn't want to be staff. Mainly 'cause I had no contribution to the site.

Newbie Group: Admin Posts: 1 Member No.: 3 Joined: 16-July 07	I LIVE! Now to go on vacation... (Sorry, you said you wanted me to post!) I can totally understand your annoyance with staff, as I've pissed off a fair number of people in my time. My latest sig on one rp has received a rather nice reaction, though some staff are concerned about the sarcastic "I'm better than you," part. Why people would look at you differently than they do now, I really can't say. You're as awesome as the day I met you.

But hopefully my leaving the site will put me on better terms with them than if I had chosen to stay. In the end, it wasn't the OOC stuff that made me want to leave; though that contributed, it alone wouldn't have done much since, as so many people have told me, I tend not to care about others' opinions of me. But I would've eventually left even if it weren't for all that. Don't worry 'bout posting. You will soon enough, with this vampire RP coming up. I can make sure of that.
