THE RULES
Registering
Do not use your full name, or in other ways identify your real identity when registering.
No profanities or offensive words/phrases in your user name.
One account per person. If you for some reason feel you need one more, contact an admin prior to registering. (A name change is not a reason; you can buy those with tokens. Wanting to advertise more than one site is not a reason; you can submit as many ads as you want using the one account.)
No pretending to be someone you're not. (Using the user name of others from various other communities etc.)
Content and Copyrights
You may not steal, duplicate or other ways plagiarize or rip off any content from RPGU. All material found here is offered to you freely by the goodwill of the staff and members of RPGU. Treat it as such.
When using one of the offered resources here at RPGU, remember to keep the credit tag in place. If you do not, it would be considered stealing. Don't be that guy! (Note that artists crediting rules may vary for graphics - be sure to read any credit rules set forth by the individual artist BEFORE using their images!)
Do not change any content found here and then claim it as your own. Being inspired by someone else is fine. Stealing from them is not.
When making a thread, do so in the appropriate area. The RPGU staff have the right to move or delete any inappropriate topic. We may or may not PM you a copy of deleted content.
RPGU claims no ownership over the work of our members, and will therefore not recognize any responsibility for it. Back up your own stuff!
Many of the forums and ideas here on RPGU is original to this site. Ask permission before you take our ideas to your own board.
Etiquette
Treat every other member of RPGU with the common courtesy and respect you wish to be treated with.
No flaming or other abusive behaviour.
You may criticize people's work if, when and where asked for.
We appreciate helpful comments, but make it friendly and non-offensive.
If you have a problem with any other member of RPGU, please contact nila. or mimmy to have them assist you in the matter. Do not start an argument in the forums.
No PMing admins asking to be put on staff. We appreciate you want to help, and we will let you know if we need you.
Don't use netspeak. You know, the one who looks LiEk ThIs lIeK tHe SHIZZ! Seriously. Don't.
When in doubt, refer to the forum for asking the staff questions. Using the appropriate forum is more effective than PMing random staff members. And more polite.
You may not PM people advertising your site, PM spam or spam the forums.
We understand you may like some better than others, but please keep the cliqueish behaviour away from the forums.
When making any kind of request here at RPGU, you are allowed to bump your topic if it has gone unnoticed for FOUR days. Bumps every other hour or every day will be considered spamming. So, please be patient. (This includes Graphic Requests, RP resource requests, Staff Needed, Homes for Displaced characters etc.)
Signatures
You are allowed images in your signature, but do not stretch the page! Nothing wider than 500 pixels.
With all your images and text combined, you signature should not exceed about a 400 pixels hight. We don't want to scroll like mad just to get past a sig!
No pornographic or otherwise offensive quotes or images are allowed in your sig.
You may link to: list includes but is not limited to --Any thread or post at RPGU --Your personal, non-profit blog and/or personal site.
You may not link to: list include but is not limited to --Competing sites --Malicious content (spyware, virus etc) --Sites of a pornographic or otherwise offensive nature --Stupid links, like the log out link. (It is not a LOL! thing to log everyone out!) --Any referral program or the like
Posting
Do not post anything of a pornographic or offensive nature. We understand you may want to be provocative sometimes, but do not cross that line to offence. And remember the PG13 rating.
Don't swear or use unnecessary profanities. Occasional bad words are okay (and sometimes needed), but be sensible!
When posting, do so in the right place! If you do not, your post will be either moved or deleted.
If you post any content that does not follow RPGU rules, the staff may, and will, delete it without any further notice.
Don't post too many images in a thread (except in the graphics forum). Be considerate of those with slow connections.
