Okay, well; I had an interesting convo with BreakMan about it last night. He said he'd be interested in helping us with this project, and I personally think it would be fun if we were able to do a well-grounded one. Anything stirring up interest in the community can help the community. At the end of this post is a link to a poll. As soon as we get enough votes to determine how you guys feel on this, I think we'll make the decision on whether or not to implement it (as resident tech guy, I'm pretty much going to be the one at least setting the forums and such for it up), and if we do implement it, how the format will work.
I myself would advise an RPG that works sort of on a round-robin story principle, similar to how MegaMatt suggested players versus a system. It would support cooperation rather than competition, which in turn promotes the concept of Synergy.
If that was so, I think the system might follow a flow like this:
| QUOTE (lolpoweredupreferences) | It was the year 200X, and the advancement of internet technology allowed humans to create artificial intelligence programs called Net Navigators, or NetNavis. Created by the foremost authority in Net Navigation technology, Dr. Matt, BondMan is a NetNavi created for compressing data. |
...as opposed to...
| QUOTE (Eric) | I WALK INTO THE BAR AND SHOOT THE MONSTER FOR TWELVE GOLD. I THEN CHARGE MY BUSTER AND SHOOT THE GUY OVER THERE FOR ANOTHER FIVE GOLD. I SHOOT THE DREAD GAZEBO FOR TWELVE ADDITIONAL GOLD. |
MegaMatt, if you're officially volunteering to help on this, I'll give you either my AIM or Skype handle (those are my public IM contacts) and you and I can start conspiring about it. http://z11.invisionfree.com/rmsc_forums/in...hp?showtopic=78
