Here are some of the questions I have gotten asked a lot, and they're being answered here for your convenience.

When will the RPG be up?

We're hopeful to launch it on Sunday, January 27th.

Who all is working on it?

The RPG idea has been going around here for years, but LordHuffnPuff brought it up again most recently, and MegaMatt.EXE, Vast Rendan, BreakMan.EXE and myself all are all working on the project right now.

What will player involvement be like?

The RPG is going to run primarily like a round-robin fanfiction rather than the standard-fare, first-person "I walk into the cyber-forest and shoot the Orc virus; he was carrying twelve Zenny. I levelled up!" RPG style. Player involvement will be the primary driving force behind the RPG, though most major events will be following a complete storyline (this is not a "perpetual motion" style RPG, but does have a plot and an ending).

Player characters will be allied with the "resistance", who are currently fighting the forces of Dr. Wily. For a plot preview, please refer to this thread.

Will we be able to run separate RPGs besides the main one?

Eventually, we may offer the ability for forum members to propose their own RPG concepts. However, considering the smaller size of our forum, at this time it's not prudent to run more than one RPG at a time.

Will this be anything like the old Battle Thread(s)?

Hopefully, no. We've worked way too hard for it to end up like that.

This is too similar to The Matrix/Blade Runner/(insert name here). Aren't you ripping (whatever) off?

While I admit the RPG was slightly inspired by certain anime and games, the planning concept has been original from the start and has tried to remain within the standard Rockman series limits. To be honest, the biggest inspiration is probably Rockman Zero itself.

What kind of characters will we be allowed to make? Can we use pre-existing characters such as (insert name for Bass here)?

Absolutely no pre-existing Rockman canon characters will be allowed for use by player characters, and characters that are obviously pre-existing characters (ie "my guy is identical to Forte but he's green and cyan instead of black and gold and has a round gem on his helmet and his name is Forty") will not only be heavily frowned upon but probably outright rejected.
And probably will be replied to with Shoop-Da-Whoops and lolcats.
What Rockman series is this primarily set in?

It's an alternate-universe style RPG that takes place primarily in a dystopia version of the Rockman EXE universe. Character names are geared towards a Western audience, so returning characters (NPCs) will follow Battle Network name regulations (Lan and Hub Hikari, not Hikari Netto and Saito).

Will this be fun? It sounds like it's not fun! I want fun!

We guarantee we've put forth hours and hours of effort to drain it of MAXIMIZE any possible fun.

Seriously-- yes, it will be fun! We're all working hard to ensure that. The planning has had some major rough patches-- trying to get all of the staff members working on it together to meet has been a pain, I'll admit-- but we're still eager about the project. We hope you guys enjoy it.

If you have any further questions for the RPG, please ask them here.
