<span style='font-size:30pt;line-height:100%'>* RULES !

* GENERAL GUIDELINES
    01. Please register with your character's first and last name in UPPERCASE LETTERS... no symbols EVEN for foreign names. It makes it more difficult for other RPers to contact you. If you are unsure, please PM CER! or CHERRY!

    02. We are limiting everyone to TEN characters. You can beg all you want, but we reallllly have a hard time believing anyone can pay equal attention to all of them. Of these characters, we'd LOVE there to be a pretty equal male-to-female ratio, and for one of them to maybe be an adult, but we're not going to force anything. since we're allowing ten characters, we ask that you please keep a ratio in mind. ten females is just not fair, you know?

    03. Currently, we only allow canon characters at this RPG*. We WILL let you reserve a character for as long as 3 days before posting up your application. After 3 days, your reserve is taken away and you may RE-reserve if you need more time, but someone else will have the opportunity to apply for the character. Please DO NOT post unfinished applications. If someone is already applying for a character you wish to play, and NO LONGER has a reserve, you are free to register also (just add punctuation to the username, e.g. HARRY POTTER!, HERMIONE GRANGER., RONALD WEASLEY*).

    *we allow the exception of adult characters that are NOT on our canon list AND generally muggleborn adults/students.

    04. Character's house is chosen through a sorting method. Each character's application will be reviewed by at least one administrator. We do this to ask that you don't design characters for certain houses, but rather you let the 'sorting hat' choose. More details on this can be found HERE.

    05. We require you to read about the available character types ("races") on our rpg. We'll summarize them here, BUT you will have to read more HERE.
    Students = wizards/witches, werewolves, part-werewolves, part-vampires, part-veela, part-goblins, part-giants
    Adults = wizards/witches, werewlves, part-werewolves, vampires, part-vampires, veela, goblins, giants, part-giants

    06. Be sure to have your application posted and completed within the first week of registration for a character. If you cannot make the deadline, please send a PM to the admin indicating you will need an extension. Otherwise, your account will be deleted. Please make sure your application is in on time. The first code word is 'gonna'.

    07. Hogwarts is a school for wizards from the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland. At the age of 11, your character MUST have lived in one of these areas. If they did not, you must petition the admins (and have a pretty good reason).
* GRAPHIC GUIDELINES
    08. Please be conscious of the size of the graphic sets you use. Avatars may either be 150x200, 150x150, or 100x100 (we prefer the first two). We do not have a signature image size limit, but please make sure it DOES NOT horizontally stretch the forum tables.

    09. Due to bandwidth we do request that you use only one banner, OR two images, OR up to six icons in your signatures. You may include a few lines of text, if you wish.
* POSTING GUIDELINES
    10. The general rating for reckless a b a n d o n PG-15. Heavy R-rated content is allowed, but please do so sparingly AND clearly mark if the content exists with a warning in the subtitle of the thread AND in the first post of the topic.

    11. reckless a b a n d o n is looking for active members. Please post as frequently as your muse will allow. We are about fun here, and do not want you to feel pressured to post, but if you aren't active for weeks at a time, we will have to take action. This action will likely come across as an activity check.

    12. Please post in our absence topic (in the OOC area) if you know you'll be away for an extended period of time. Let us know approximately how long you will be away from us and when you will be able to come back. This will keep us from deleting your characters by mistake if an activity check occurs while you're gone.

    13. Be responsible and respectful when on the forums. WE WILL NOT tolerate any prejudice or discrimination against anyone because of their race, gender, religion, sexuality, etc in out of character discussion. If you feel you are being disrespected, please contact an administrator asap with the comments in offense and we will deal with it accordingly.
* ROLEPLAYING GUIDELINES
    14. Write all of your posts in third person, past tense.

    BAD
QUOTE
I walk to the lake and sat by the tree.  I see Lily sitting there too.  "Hi, Lily" I say.

    GOOD
QUOTE
Remus walked to the lake, planning to sit by the tree and think a while.  He saw Lily sitting there already, and smiled.  "Hey there, Lily," he said, hiding a blush.
    15. Please be conscious of your grammar and spelling in normal posts. This is excusable in journals, notes, owls, and dialogue, due to character traits, but we find that well-thought out posts are better for inspiring the muse of other players and are easier to read and reply to.

    16. We are an intermediate RPG. This means we expect a certain quality of posting. This does NOT mean we don't allow new RPers on our site.

    17. Please keep posts at least three good paragraphs long. If it comes down to it, we'd much rather have a good, short post than a boring long one.

    18. No God-modding, unless you receive permission from the other RPer. If you do God-mod a little, please note that you did in fact receive permission.

    19. Please do NOT pester people to reply to your threads. Everyone has different schedules, different work loads, and different amounts of threads to reply to. It's not fair to annoy someone to reply to you when they have other priorities. Start a new thread if you need some more RPing. If you GENUINELY think someone forgot about a thread, it's okay to mention it, but remember, people have other threads they might have to get to first if they're in a replying mood anyway.

    20. Be sure to pay attention to tags. Don't leave them hanging open when you can help it. That just makes it messy.

    21. Do not double post in RP threads. If you need to add something to your post, please use the edit button. You may double post in plots, journals, notes, etc.

    22. PLEASE do not post anywhere other than an application and face claim until you are ACCEPTED.
And of course…
    23. Have fun!
