early december all over the isles the rain is getting colder, the highlands are buried under several feet of snow, and as if that wasn't bad enough... beware the wind! it's frigid and out to bite.
06:14:52 Amelia: -coming to visit on her lunch break or something like that, apparates there and knocks- 06:15:51 Candace: -just put Cassy down for a nap, scurries to the door to stop the knocking before it wakes her up- ... oh, hi Mel... come on in. -cheerful smile- 06:19:55 Amelia: Hi Candace. -smiles and comes in- I'm not interrupting, am I? -would never really have bothered asking when she was living upstairs- 06:21:15 Candace: No, not at all, dear... just put Cassy down for a bit. We spent the morning with Grandmummy trying to decide what to do for Cassy and Aldric's party... -dizzy face- 06:23:10 Amelia: Oh no, I'm sorry... Was Dad was there to stop her awful plans at least? 06:23:38 Candace: Thankfully, together we put an end to it... number one on her agenda? Pink. Frills. 06:24:11 Candace: I told her Cassy was essentially allergic to them. >) 06:25:19 Amelia: -looks ill, shudders- It's not bad enough that she'd traumatise her own children, now she's trying to force it on her granddaughter too? -shakes her head- She's completely mental... Well that's good at least. 06:26:38 Candace: -grins when she shudders, because she pictured the response perfectly- Modelled it after you, of course. -smile- Dad seemed to think that you'd choose not to come if pastels were on the menu... and of course, you have to be there. 06:29:44 Amelia: He's right. She's completely delusional, especially when it comes to decorating. That's the only reason Dad ever helps plan his birthday party. -has not been on especially good terms with her mother lately- 06:31:21 Candace: -knows, was trying to be cheerful about it, but will steer away from the insanity of her mother now- He didn't seem overly pleased, but we let Cassy take over choosing things, so it ended well... red velvet, like I'd hoped. -smiles- 06:33:43 Amelia: -has issues more with other parts of her mother's insanity, mostly with her insistence upon constantly dropping not subtle hints about wanting more grandchildren everytime she's around Mel now, transferring her annoyance back to the pink frills xD- That's good... Well, if there is one thing she can get right it's baking, I suppose. 06:35:09 Candace: -always wishes Susan wouldn't do that, because the only person Mel's in any position to have children with (as far as she knows) is Malfoy, and knows that would cause serious drama with Edgar and really, honestly just doesn't want to go through that again- 06:35:57 Candace: -nods- It should be delicious, and some of your dad's friends will be there too... it'll be a nice little party. :) 06:36:22 Candace: Can you believe Cassy'll be a year old? -not so subtle segue- 06:38:23 Amelia: -doesn't either, is also only 18 and really just at the start of a very promising career and does not think this would be the right time to have a kid if she was going to- -smiles- Hardly. This year has certainly gone by quickly. 06:41:35 Candace: -was only nineteen when she had Cassy... xD- 06:42:19 Candace: And then next one will too, I'm sure... and then the terrible twos. -sighs- It'll be marvelous. -cheerful sarcasm- 06:43:55 Amelia: -vaguely understands that some people are going to have kids that early, mostly because of Candace and Eddie, but would never do that herself- Oh I'm sure it won't be too bad, she's such a sweet little girl. 06:44:46 Candace: Isn't she just? Handled all the party planning without a single complaint... she objected to pink balloons, which I thought was sweet of her... -smile- 06:45:20 Amelia: -smiles- Well, she's quite intelligent of course too. 06:46:29 Candace: She's really brilliant, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised... you and Eddie both, your whole family is just so clever, it was in her genes to be so smart. 06:47:32 Amelia: You were a Ravenclaw too, dear. I'm sure she gets it just as much from you. 06:51:47 Candace: It's entirely possible. ^^ 06:54:00 Amelia: Fortunately mother's decorating skills don't seem to be an inheritable trait. 06:55:06 Candace: -quiet laugh- Well, if they are, maybe time can improve them... though no child of Eddie's would ever tolerate frills of any kind, I'm sure. 06:59:05 Amelia: Well, I'm not sure mother's gotten any better about it, she just can't get away with it as much because we don't let her. -smiles- I should hope not. It'd drive him mental. 07:00:16 Candace: And Cassy would never do that, of course... thankfully, everything's sorted and frill-free. So you can come in safety and enjoy seeing your goddaughter and father celebrate.
