Update: With effect from 21 Mar 09, all works submitted on PowerPoint Heaven must display the PPTH logo (logo hyperlinked to the site is strongly recommended) or a simple text that reads "PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate", or use the default preloader slide sample from the logo kit.

For those who create PowerPoint works posted here or for submission on PowerPoint Heaven site are encourage to include the PowerPoint Heaven Logo into their works.

Disclaimer: The logo can be included as a promotional means before the start of your PowerPoint movies/games/showcases etc, or on the credits slide to indicate that your work is available for download on PowerPoint Heaven. The logo must not be misrepresented in any means, such that the work is produced or owned by PowerPoint Heaven.

The PowerPoint Heaven Logo Kit includes 1 ppt file and 1 png file. The ppt file contains a basic set of logos (in original, normal and small size), a set for animation usage (where objects in the logo can be animated individually) and a preloader slide sample (Optional. You can create your own, or modify from the sample).

When using the logo, a hyperlink to PowerPoint Heaven (http://pptheaven.mvps.org) is strongly recommended.

The logo kit can be downloaded at: http://pptheaven.mvps.org/ppt/PowerPointHeavenLogoKit.zip

Oh, good. I was waiting for something like this. It was hard to properly copy it from the site.

Just in case anyone wanted it, I made a PowerPoint 2007 logo on PowerPoint. It's not perfect, but all the separate pieces can be animated, and it looks close enough (my 3rd draft): http://www.mediafire.com/?cnfavpevfyt . It might go with the PowerPoint Heaven Logo.

With effect from 21 Mar 09, all works submitted on PowerPoint Heaven must display the PPTH logo (logo hyperlinked to the site is strongly recommended) or a simple text that reads "PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate". A simple 'preloader' slide sample is now available in the logo kit.

Why is this being enforced?
This is due to the fact that I have came across some sites or communities (not directing to anyone here) that leech the ppt files on PPTH and upload onto theirs. At times, credits may not be given to the respective creators or PPTH, more prominent on non-English speaking communities. Unlike Flash, PowerPoint works are downloaded onto your harddisk for viewing. They can be easily re-uploaded to other places and there are no proper ways to trace it. While some of you do not mind your works being re-distributed without permission or without proper credits given to you, this can become a form of abuse in the future. And the fact is, the viewers will unlikely know about PPTH, thus hindering the growth of PPTH.

The Content Submission rules still apply:
1 - PowerPoint Heaven will not claim ownership over your work.
2 - PowerPoint Heaven will not be held responsible or liable for any work submitted.
3 - No part of the work or the use of the work by PowerPoint Heaven will violate, misappropriate or infringe upon any common law or statutory rights of any person or entity, including rights relating to copyrights, contractual rights, trademarks, privacy, or publicity. You guarantee to PowerPoint Heaven that you are the sole and exclusive owner of the work, or you are properly licensed to use all elements in the work, and that any violations will result in immediate deletion of the work.

And if you are going to upload your works on other sites, you do not have to use the PPTH logo. This is simply a basic security measure for PPTH only.

Oh, that's a good idea. Thanks for explaining the reason... I hate it when I'm told to do something without reason. (I would probably put in the logo anyway, though.)

I think that it benefits everyone here. It gives the creator credit for their work, and at the same time, it advertises PowerPoint Heaven and gets more people to see the great works that we have here. I think PowerPoint Heaven is a great place, and I would rather share credit with PPTH and watch it grow than to be selfish and take all the credit to myself. I usually include as a standard in all my works, "For more fantastic works created with Microsoft PowerPoint, please visit http://pptheaven.mvps.org" It also turns out that there are a lot of people that go to my school who enjoy PowerPoint games and try making their own games in their spare time. I usually try to turn these people toward PowerPoint Heaven, and its great games, artworks and animations. Maybe you'll be seeing them on the forum soon biggrin.gif .

Wow, that's a great idea... So modest, and so subtle... And, I don't know many students or teachers who are interested in making games in PowerPoint... Just (BB Games) at my school... No one else is really that great... sad.gif

There seems to be a growing trend in PowerPoint games at my school, whether it's because they have been enlightened in the sheer awesomeness of PowerPoint's full capabilities, or whether it's because the school librarians have pretty much banned every other form of entertainment, I know not. However, nowadays I can walk in to the Media Center and everyone is playing Maze of Doom biggrin.gif, or making their own games. Now, most of the games are probably not PPTH submission quality, but I know some friends of mine who have made some cool works.

BTW, I'm kind of like a god to them. biggrin.gif

Well, I did, though I know it's not going to PPTH! biggrin.gif It's just so that poeple don't come to the board, download it from the post, and promote it on their site for their own purposes, with no credit to the creator, or the original website. Typety also did, with his Iphone...
