Looking at some of the responses to questions I see a lot of 'I don't know', etc and comments about increasing the post count. What's the big deal? Is their some kind of reward or incentive for having a lot of posts or do people just like to hear (or see) themselves talking?

It's ok with me but just curious.

Jerry

I don't know...

Actually, if you get 500 posts, you become a part of the elite group. People also like to contribute even if they don't know the answer, I guess.

Just a status thing, I guess.

See, I have the most posts on this board, so I'm obviously the coolest person here. tongue.gif

There are different ranks for your post count. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it goes like this:

0-9 posts = Newcomer
10-49 posts = Regular
50-99 posts = Old-timer
100-249 posts = PowerPoint Geek
250-499 posts = PowerPoint Addict
500-999 posts = PowerPoint Elite
1000-? = PowerPoint Guru

Note: The test zone, and the chat zone do not increase post count (If they did, I'd probably be guru by now, LOL)

And yes, there are rewards for having a higher post count, but I'm not allowed to disclose them. Just keep having fun on the forum and you'll get them.

We really should start telling that to newcomers...
Then they might decide to stick around for a little bit longer.

I like to contribute to stuff, and it is kind of cool to get new post # ranks, so i guess that's why.

I usually hae something to say. I love to help out in the Technical Forum, and there are also the PowerPoint Heaven site contribution topics.
What's the big deal? We're discussing... things. Many of us earn our post count,
but otherszumjust chat.

Don't worry about your post count. Just have fun on the forum, and your post count will follow.

(Just increased my post count, he he)
Oh crap, I probably shouldn't have typed that.
