1. Open the file or the image that you want to add a border
a_ If your image is a pdf
b_ if you imafe is *.gif or *.jpg or *.png
I will use this image:


2a. Select the brushes layers and press ctrl+e, one time for each brush layer

2b. Duplicate the layer

3b and a. edit > stroke

Now make it again but select a colour similar to the backround and the width

And now use this settings


Now i you were using an image, you finish, but if you were using a psd, make this

4. Select the borders and cut the renders

5. And now for bouth cases your final result should look like this
