Hello and welcome to
oh you pretty things

This site is based on the story of two opposing groups of mutants, neither good, neither bad but both strongly disagree with each others message

each group has a base in and around London and each is recruiting heavily for the upcoming inevitable war. Which group will throw the first punch? Which group will you join forces with? Only time will tell...

Here are the handy links to the stuff you will need to get going. Be sure to read all of the important stuff before registering because there are things you will need to know before you are approved!

groups

erindamus
The Erindamus, a secret society which was formed over a hundred years ago for the protection of mutants. Back then it was apparent that things such as mutant powers were not easily introduced into the human populace and it would bring only oppression and stigma for those who had powers. In 1883 the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche touched on the subject and wrote about the 'homo superior'. People weren't aware but he was in fact writing about mutations and did a lot of work with the members of the Erindamus to aid his theories. Still going strong, the Erindamus is based just outside of London in a remote country location where it's members can live in safety from the risk of exposure and they can learn about their powers, how to develop the powers and about mutant rights.

They stand for the protection of mutants by giving them refuge away from humans. They do not like the Coalition

coalition
For the past 20 years a new mutant group has arisen. The Coalition, headed by Professor Wrightman, is now a new home for mutants - namely, those who disagree with the way the Erindamus live. In his eyes mutants should not be ashamed of who or what they are. He believes the true meaning of 'Homo Superior' and believes that they are merely the next stage in evolution and that there is no reason for humans to think badly of that. Their base is within London City itself posing as a small, private university for the advanced student. Here they house all of the members of their cause and they too teach new members about their powers, how to develop and other subjects. It is a sanctuary for the lost and unsure.

they stand for the rights of mutants and believe they shouldn't hide. They do not like the Erindamus

mutants
The rest of the mutants either haven't heard of the two groups, are unaware even of their powers or they do not wish to belong to one of the groups. They live all over the world, obviously, and if your playing a non allied mutant then you can place your character anywhere in the world, the groups will find you! With teams of recruiters each group is seeking out these mutants to state their case, and expand their ranks. Each power is useful in some way, but who will you join? Will you join anyone at all?

The mutants are un-allied at present but recruiters will be seeking them out

powers

So, the mutants have formed their powers because of evolution. They are the 'Homo Superior'. Being the next stage in evolution can have it's pro's and con's for sure. The way a mutant can come about is as such:

+They can be born of 2 human parents and be born with 1-2 levels of evolution depending on the evolution skip.
+When born with 1 mutant parent a child will tend to have the same level of evolution as the mutant parent, on rare occasions they can skip to have 1 level above the mutant parent
+With 2 mutant parents a child will often have the same level of evolution as the most evolved parent (level 3 parent = level 3 child). It is rare but possible to skip onto the next stage of evolution

So the basic outline of powers:

+level of evolution = number of powers
+taking on a canon means you take on the level of evolution they have
+having an original means you MUST only have 1 stage of evolution
+Your 2nd original can have 2nd stage evolution and so on
+powers tend to show themselves at the same time as puberty
+when a mutant is young their powers are quite weak forms of the power and often very hard to control
+When with one of the groups, they can learn to ctronl their power (not make it stronger though)
+A mutants power will slowly increase in strength as they get older, by mid-twenties it will be at the stronger form of each power
+as an example, with telekenesis, when first getting their power it is weak and hard to control. It will be small objects and they will have to concentrate hard to move things. Eventually it will take less concentration to move things. As they reach their twenties they will move larger objects and from then it will get stronger and so the objects they can move will get much bigger
+when choosing powers for your character try to pick powers which relate to each other in some way (only relevant for characters with more than 1 power, obviously)
+any other queries about powers feel free to PM the kinkasaurus account
