what would you say if i told you that severus snape and lily evans are dating? what about that sirius black is actually gay and just chases girls because he doesn't want to like boys? how about if i told you that james potter and a girl called zoe hitchins are engaged? that's not your normal canon marauder era roleplay. now, none of what i told you is actually true - but it could be. or james potter could love lily evans and she could hate him, sirius black could really love girls and severus snape would just be the bullied, greasy snake he is in every other marauder roleplay. it's all up to you.

there are many students at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. some are more popular than others and these tend to steal the limelight. that doesn't mean they are the only ones worth knowing. this doesn't mean that sirius black, james potter, remus lupin, peter pettigrew and lily evans are more important than the other students at hogwarts. all of the other students, canon or original, get their chance to be just as important. maybe some will upstage the canons.

now. for. the. plot.
lord voldemort is causing some unrest around the magical world - but it's not enough to disrupt the everyday life of hogwarts. sure, some students are beginning to think that maybe being a death eater would be a good idea and some are thinking they'll join the order, but it's in the future. right now everyone is just quite happy to be a student at hogwarts and not care about the real world.
