wiring up a dvc sub, on a dual mono amp

the sub is a dvc 4 sub.

the amp puts out 300rms @ 4 ohm & 600rms @ 2 ohm. I see there are l+ & l- as well as r+ & r- terminals. how do I hook up this sub?

do I parallel each coil on the sub & run the single pair of wire to l- & r+ terminals on the amp or to either l+ & l- or r+ & r-?

or do I have to run a pair of wire from each pair of terminals on the sub to each pair of terminals on the amp (4 ohm load from each coil to each channel on the amp)

im confused

whole morning I looking up all kind of thing for dual monos & cant find squat.

I did find something on this site pages 2 & 3 http://images.google.tt/imgres?imgurl=http...t%3D20%26um%3D1 but they confuse me even more.

im 99% sure its a normal monoblock amp i feel u getting tie up with d amp having 2+ & 2- terminals but inside is connected internally so its still a mon0 , they just put d extra -&+ as a extra connection point

easiest way to connect is run is to run a wire from each + to d + on d amp & d same with d - ......

fuh realz, how do I know if is a dual mono

the booklet still sealed in plastic home too eh... I looking for ent?

yea rovin it just like the sundown but what confusing me is that the spec sheet says:

- 300 Watts RMS per channel at 4 Ohms ¡Ü 1% THD+N

- 600 Watts RMS per channel at 2 Ohms ¡Ü 1% THD+N

does it mean 300rms *2 @ 4ohms & 600*2 @ 2 ohms?

it means if d amp sees a 2ohm load it will out put 600wrms & if it sees a 4ohm load it will put out 300wrms .....

I donno why I keep getting the feeling I doing something wrong, that same amp had the kicker shaking up the car, the rockford hardly moving, I expected this sub to be getting a severe beating.

in a DVC sub each coil has a +ve and a -ve connection


so you will have 2 +ve and 2-ve connections to make to power up both coils..


connect both +ve coil connections to the amplifier +ve terminal and connect both -ve coil connections to the -ve terminal on the amplifier..

If it's a dual 4 ohm sub the final load will be 2 ohms at the amplifier and you will get your 600Wrms @ 2 ohm X 1

monoblock = SINGLE CHANNEL
