You contradict yourself. You say they were not abused, but then you say: "if you can make it unbreakable, bring it to trinidad and they will find a way to break it" "trini's need a much more durable sub, that can handle alot of abuse" I am just curious, if you knew people there break everything, why did you sell them one of AA's least expensive drivers? Arsenals were made to add quality bass to an audio system, not build SPL monsters. Havocs or Mayhems would have been a much better choice for abuse. . .I am sure cost was a factor, but when you buy a sub made for X amount of performance, that is all you get. Try to get more and you get failure. As Nick said and I will say again, that coil did not come from AA black. It was nice copper when it was new. That alone is an obvious sign of over powering the sub. Want a sub for abuse? Try Mayhems. Not that they are indestructible, but they are tough! Check the video of my van, and I have NEVER blown a sub: http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x24/bko...nt=van001-4.flvBrian

its a shameful day to be a trini yes ... trinis have this stupid , backward mentaility and an affinity to stupid high tuned boxes ... even though they tune high they try to play stuff with extra low freq. info eg young jeezy ... sigh and another thing some people think they know it all and think every speaker is underrated sigh ... so what if it has an accurate rating?... does it make it a bad driver?... man i could go on and on but give us credit we have some world class installs both in terms of sound quality , output and craftsmanship

| QUOTE (southside connections @ Mar 25 2009, 11:56 PM) | another thing about trinidadians, if you can make it unbreakable, bring it to trinidad and they will find a way to break it
trini's need a much more durable sub, that can handle alot of abuse
trinidad has the world's loudest musically playing cars(quoted from a few international iasca judges)and we will put a subwoofer to the most extreme tests, and if a sub cannot handle the daily abuse, then it's not worth it to us and that's the truth about it
so in reality, if the lines cannot take alot of pressure, people stay away, far away espically if parts are hard to get |
I was backing you all the way to here.
You just made it clear that these subs were abused.
And sorry about that casper...

ok, let's say they were abused(to the best of my knowedge they were not)
i understand where u are comming from there,i called one of the customers came for a check up based on what you were telling me
this is what i saw for myself-
gains straight up sub levels stright up frequencies straight up
so based on this, i retract all my statements, and i apologise on that, trini's like to interfare to much
the only prob is the dry-rot of the suspension and can it be fixed
but just a note, the subs in trinidad are $1200, thats about 200usd
whats you retailing price, seeing that you said it's one of you cheapest subs?

Glad we now know what happened.
On another note, that surrounds looks like it has been wet from more than just humidity. I bet it was played hard before given the chance to fully dry.
Dry rot would be the entire suspension and would just fall apart in your hands. And I don't believe just one area would have dry rot while the rest of it looks pretty good.
Foam suspension protectants have come a LONG way the past ten years. You will normally see foam on high excursion subs because rubber will suck back under extreme pressures.
As bad as those suspensions look, along with the burned coils, I would definitely recone them before trying to just repair the suspension. I PM'd you recone prices. . .
If you have any other questions with pricing, email me at fi.recone.kits@gmail.com

thanks alot to all for your help on this topic
on another note, what am i to do as an installer, being that people interfare and don't take the responsibilty?
the last time i put my foot down, i lost 3 customers flat, even after throughly explaining what has happened to them
the last response i got was- "dred me eh interfare wit nuttin"
me- "when you tight ot by a bar, can you remember anything?"
customer- "dais not d point,i buy this and it damage"
me- "well it is your fault, due to you lack of reponsibility"
fella- "what ever wee, felck you nah u is ah no good"
now that just goes to show, most customers don't take responsibility for their actions
so as an installer how can i combat this?
