Title: Static In Your Sounds
BassMekaniX - September 4, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
Lots of people come to our shop with the problem of continuous whine in their music while the engine is running .From small everyday "deck and speaker" system to full competition grade systems this happens.
The following are some probable causes of this whine followed by the proven solutions to resolve the problem.
1)Probable Cause- Poor grounding
Solution - Clean grounding location making sure paint or corrosion isnt present
2)Probable Cause - Pulsating DC coming out of battery
Solution - Use a noise suppressor on the current line, for advance systems use a ground loop isolator on your RCA plugs ,these are aslo called passive noise supressors
3)Probable Cause - Antenna cable passes near to current wires(for tuner problems)
Solution - Run cable away from any current cables
4) Probable Cause - leaking or bad plug wires
Solution- Check for leaks, if leaking, replace plug wires
5) Probable Cause - alternator defects
Solution - Service altrernator, make new connections to battery
6) Probable Cause - Low battery current
Solution - Check alternator belt, alternator for weak charge, replace battery
7) Probable Cause -Pre Out RCA plugs run together with current cables
Solution-Run cables separatley
Probable Cause - Leaking RCA plugs
Solution- sorry theres no way of repairing a set of RCA plugs for better performance. Replace RCA plugs
If you try these solution and the problem still arises, consult a qualified audio engineering tech. Internal ground burnout in your amps or head unit is another great possibility
By following these easy steps, that static in your music is guaranteed to be gone for good

yes u can.....grounding RCA's simply mean to take a piece of wire...touch the RCA's with one side....and ground the other to a various part of the car where ure amp may be located ;)

for all of the PIONEER head unit users.
its a common problem, its a diode or filter or somn that damages if theres a ground fault.... it can be servicable, also in some amps, this can be the same problem too
