without cutting.

I considering replacing the whole backdash but dont want to raise the speaker too high or cut the metal underneath to accommodate the speaker.

that wouldnt affect the sound from it in any way?

I donno if is just me or that they just dont sound as good when they 2" above the backdash on some risers as opposed to 6x9's in those ole school vehicles that had the backdash cut & the 6x9's mounted on them.

i donno eh, I just asking.

somehow all the ones I heard with risers sounded crappy to me. it could probably be that the idiots set their head units bad so it sounding like crap.
but to me the ones mounted on the backdash with the rear of the speaker open to inside the trunk sounds better than the speaker practically in a small enclosure with a hole behind it.

I find you used to get more bass from the ones mounted on the dash itself too, i distinctly remember my neighbor had his installed with risers & he had an amp pushin his, I had 2 jensen 6x9's powered by a pios clockface & it pwned him. plenty more bass out of it.
