Yup, all you have to do to join the site is register and create an account. If you want to be a Mandalorian though, there's a whole lot more work involved, and none of it requires signing up here. If you want to be a Mando, you just have to live like one. This is merely a place for Mandalorians to get in touch with other Mandos.

Hope you know what you're getting into, vod. This isn't running about in plastic signs and it's not about speaking a smattering of Mando'a gleaned from Traviss's books.
It's about an honest-to-God, real-live culture. Or ideal, as the current debate rages. Fact is, I hope you've really done your research and really thought about this. It's a lifestyle choice, and I don't mean acting aggressively, or swearing in different languages. It's not about armor and kit.
If you haven't done much homework, I suggest going under Mandalorian Action, under Organizing Ourselves and read the Our Future thread. It's going in an interesting direction and might be a good insight as to the difference between Fans and Mandos.
...Then again, could be I'm wasting my time and you already know this.
I hope you do.
Enjoy the mando'ad lifestyle, vod. And welcome to the ranks.

We Mando'ad women can be compared to many things. Among that list are "Rabid strills," "A-grade unstable explosives," and "just haran on earth."
But I prefer to think of us Mando'ad women as the most beautiful mystery you'll ever encounter...

Funny you should mention a distinction between "real" culture and "ideal"culture. I plan on exploring that subject further sometime soon.

I'm a funny gal.
Though I take it you meant Ironic?
Still. It's a fine line, really, and sometimes it's a chasm. But certainly worth exploring. If you come up with any groundbreaking or earthquaking conclusions, do share, burc'ya.

I must admit, burc'ya, you got me to bust out laughing with that one.
Yes, I'm a female Mando'ad. Sadly, my kind seem to be fading out of view, or maybe the Mando'ad life simply doesn't call to most women the way it does to me. (Truth is, I'm not sure how to *not* be a Mando'ad.)
So it was a sausage fest, hm? *smirks* Amusing.

Which base are you headed for, Ori?
I haven't heard from any overtly female Mando'ad on here, then again I'm very very green.
I'm just saying that not many women seem called to a Mando life. Which makes me a little sad. It seems the vast majority in either of my cities, the females were more of that species called "Valley-Girl." The Hollister wearing, Abercrombie-worshiping, make-up toting, little-dog-carrying airheads.

right now I'm deployed to COB Speicher, Iraq. I am right outside the city of Tikrit. But back in the U.S. I am stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. Soon to be FT. Drum, New York when I get back and my battalion moves there in nov/dec. :mythosaur:

Kalira, Atin'ika, and Kara are all women. There were a few inactive others, but their accounts were deleted by a certain admin who's name shall not be mentioned.

Well, I knew Kalira was, from the "she's smart" comments in the shoutbox. But I didn't know about the others. Still, that's a total of four, including myself. We need more. My sister won't join the forums just yet.

Sometimes, we ladies like to keep our genders hidden. Then when we say something ballsy, it's amusing to see the male world thrown into chaos by the idea of a female saying something like that.

Sadly not. Unless you use asterisks and italics and bolds and underlines AND ALL CAPS LIKE THIS all the damned time so that it makes your post too obnoxious for anyone to bother reading.

Unnecessary. I have a subtlety-immune friend of mine trained to recognize [sarcasm]these fine tags here[/sarcasm].
The downside is when I don't use them he never gets the joke.
