Here's where we can build the memorial to Mereel. Just post whatever you feel like and we can organize it all later.

Mereel
1980-2009

Soldier, warrior, Mando'ade, husband, father, hero.

I loved him more than words could possibly say. He was a loving husband and father. I know he is waiting for me in the afterlife. He will be in my thoughts, always.

I love you Alex and always will. You are the bravest man I have ever met. I will try to raise our son to have your strength, courage and honour. One day we will be together again.

Mariko

QUOTE (Mereel)
Well you do feel sorta like a father to the young recruits Ontos. You train them the best you can and then when you're in the osik with them you fight & die together. When one of them is KIA it hurts like one of your own kids just bought it. I have a lot of happy memories as well as some gut wrenching ones. I remember when one of my lads got too close to an IED. I see it every time I close my eyes.

I think this shows what type of man Mereel was. He was a caring man that did his duty. He showed me the reality of war and battle. It's not some glorious fight. It's dirty and bad. But even though he went through all that he still fulfilled what was required of him. I think his type of leadership sets and example for all of us.

I'm sure he is meeting with many of his fallen ade right now.

Mereel once told us when he was being shipped out to remember if he died he wad not gone, just marching far away. Mer'buir accomplished more in his life than most if not all of us can boast. Kote!

i am sorry i am late and i mean no disrespect for the man

he marched the true path of a mando'ad took life by the horns
and stared down the nostrils of fear
he was a friend a warrior but most importantly he was ner vod
his honor shall not die, his manda shall live on with every breath of his vode
the greatest honor is to die in battle, but here battle is not defined to war but to fight for the cause you believe, and that was his friend, and until the day i join mereel in the eternal march
his honor will be remembered

for we in mando'a dont have a word for hero, but he is the true definition of being a mando'ad, and deserves to be held in the highest respect

Kandosii sa kyr'am ast,
Troan teroch aruetiise a'den,
Duraan vi at ara'nov.
Vode an, ka'rta Tor.

kote.

Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum
-Mereel

kote Darasuum Kote ner vod

my hat will be off this day and shall contain my voice in rememberance of our brother Mereel

I finally found it. I searched and searched and searched for this.

QUOTE
I've got my family and my vode, that's all I need...I'm sticking with my Mando'ade vode from now on.

It was right under my nose the whole time, from July 17th 2009. For the whole quote, go here: http://z11.invisionfree.com/mandalore/inde...topic=324&st=25.

But that's the part that speaks out to me. The wisdom of the moment. With those words, he proved that we're more than a group of people brought together by similiar beliefs and a desire for something new. We're so much more than that. We're a family. I would stand up for a complete stranger for no other reason than they're Mando'ad. I would fight beside someone I've never seen before. I would help them however I could, because that stranger is my vod. Ner vod. They're powerful words, and mean as much to me as "I love you" does. And if his statement doesn't show absolute devotion to family, immediate and otherwise, close and distant, which is the core belief of any Mandalorian, I don't know what does. It's one of the most mandokarla things I've ever heard.

Mereel earned himself a permanent place in my remembrance, every single night for the rest of my life. And he did it for more reasons than I care to count. Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc. Ni partayli, gar darasuum.

Mereel, ner vod.

Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la.

I have been trying to think of how to put thought into words for Mereel for some time now. I did not know Mereel very much at all and only through a couple of of replies to a couple of topics. He put a lot of himself into the words and his replies that a Mando reading could see who he is and without knowing him on a personal level, hold him and his family in high regard. I would have been honored to have had the chance to meet Mereel.

It has been some time now, but the wound is still fresh.

I avoided posting here for some time because I really didn't know what to say, but I feel I can't run from it any longer. I didn't know Mereel very well and had only been a member for about a week at the time he passed away, but I still hold great respect for the man. He was allready family to me, and no matter what, I would have stood by him to the end. Never has a death left such a deep scar on me.

For me there was no greater mandalorian than Mereel, and I doubt there ever will be.

Ni partayli gar darasuum Mereel.

I for one think Mereel's passing has brought us together more than anything..
Sola', Could we write something about him in the archives? Something along the lines of: Mereel- Mandalore the First. He brought us together as something more than just a group, he made us family.
