Today was the start of term for a new and exciting year at Hogwarts. I had the pleasure of attending the Sorting Ceremony and saw each and every one of the incoming first years make their way to the frayed hat upon the three legged stool and be sorted into their house, much like I was when I attended Hogwarts. I was pleased with the warm welcome that I was given and the food was delicious as usual. It is my hopes that all of our children have a happy and healthy year at Hogwarts.
Now, for business at hand. As our newly instated identification cards seems to be pressing forward at a consistent rate, I deemed it time to take identification and safety of all those in our beloved Wizarding World to the next level. In the coming weeks, it is asked that Witches and Wizards of all ages once again make their way down to the Ministry of Magic to submit themselves to a blood test and genealogy inspection.
Once the examination is over, your identification card will be stamped with a colored dot that will identify your blood type. We will not be releasing the meaning of any of the assorted colors as to keep the tests as confidential as possible. This measure is more of a head count than anything else, something akin to a Muggle census, and will be treated as such.
For all those attending Hogwarts for the current term:
On September 6, 7 & 8 [Friday, Saturday & Sunday] a Ministry Official will be visiting Hogwarts to administer the blood tests and stamp your identification cards. Please have them ready when you make your way down to the testing center which will be in the empty classroom on the Second Floor.
