GENERAL SITE POLICY OUTLINE
Welcome to the "Kings of the Realm" forums! We hope that you enjoy your time here on the forums.
It is our sincere goal to create an atmosphere of community for people, like yourselves, who have developed an interest in getting more out of playing Diablo II Lord of Destruction (D2 LoD).
We, at kOtR Forumsl, promote not only the sharing of information enabling you to enhance your characters, but a friendly competition among our members, and a sense of teamwork as you build and test new characters as well. Our forums contain a wealth of information on how to enhance your playing experience, as well as several other areas of interest which help contribute to the neighborly community that we provide. Come in and look around. We are certain that you will find the answers to your questions.
Due to a large number of young people who frequent our site we would like to keep it “family friendly.” To this end we have established several site policies that will be updated as need be in order to better serve the needs of the community. We ask as you visit our site that you voluntarily help in this effort, however should you choose not to a warning system is in place that is utilized by our site staff to maintain our standards of conduct. A reminder to those of you new to us, this site is indeed private property, and management reserves the right to edit and or delete offensive material as we see fit. Repeated offences (and in some instances as detailed later immediately following a single offence) will lead your being ejected from the site. This is not something that we enjoy doing, however at times it is in the best interests of the community as a whole. With that in mind please read the following set of guidelines carefully.

1. Profanity and it’s close approximation, both verbal and somatic (hand gestures) are allowed only (and in a limited fashion) in the flame forum. This prohibition clearly extends to user names, avatars, and signatures as well as forum posts and posts within the picture gallery. One needs understand that, while profanity may be common in daily speech for some people, it is not appropriate in the presence of children. Any person intelligent enough to seek out our forums should be capable finding an alternate means of expressing oneself.

2. Spamming (needless posts) in the forums is heavily discouraged. Occasionally it may be overlooked but ongoing spamming will certainly draw the negative attentions of site staffing.

3. No links to external sites are to be posted unless they have been previously approved by an admin. (You may locate a list of administrators through the members list search utility located at the top of the forums.) In order to post such a link you must first submit the link to an admin via the private message feature and once approved the post must indicate which admin has signed off on it.

4. This site does not in any way promote illegal activity of any sort. References to drug use, illegal programs, or illegal software such as trojans, viruses, etc. will not be tolerated.

5. Please be kind to fellow site visitors. Remember that behind the electronic persona is a real live person with feelings and emotions. This site promotes fellowship among it’s many users, and dissuades in fighting. True, as with any community, personality conflicts may arise. At these times please try to be courteous in your dealings with on another. Limit arguments to the confines of private messages, as the public forums are for the exchange of information and the fellowship of community. Should a dispute arise that cannot be resolved, please feel free to contact an admin to mediate the dispute. Please do not openly challenge other site members to physical confrontation. To this end we do not allow the posting of telephone numbers, or user addresses as it may place the member in physical jeopardy, risking injury or death, for which the site could be held accountable.

6. All members, new or not are all to be treated with dignity and respect. This site is for the free exchange of knowledge and the mistreatment of new members due to the simple fact that they are indeed new inhibits that goal. Responses to questions should not make the person asking it feel foolish or consist of simply “go test.” People ask questions because they need help. If everyone knew as much as our most venerated members, then the Forum would be a boring place. Remember we were all new once. All members have the right to a quiet and fun place to gather, visit, learn, test or any other action that is facilitated by this web site. Respect all who come here and do your best to welcome them into the community.

7. While you are here, please remember that our site staff deserves to be shown respect. They have sacrificed a great deal of time and effort building the community that you enjoy. You might not initially agree with their assessments but they are working for the betterment of the community and not necessarily the individual.

There are a few offences that are serious enough that they are highly frowned upon by the site administration and will quickly get you invited to leave. We have an obligation to this community to keep it safe from those who would desire to do others harm.

8. The posting of pornographic content or racism in any form carries a “three strike penalty.” If you receive three warnings on these issues you will be banned from the site. Again there are young, impressionable minds that have access to these forums and we ask that you maintain a sense of decorum.

9. Terroristic behavior while on the site, the posting of pornography depicting children or the promotion of child abuse in any way will result in an immediate ban as these acts should never be tolerated.

10. Attempting to hack the site will not be tolerated. Any attempt to do so will result in not only your expulsion from the site but legal action being taken against the offending member.

With these things in mind please feel free to enjoy yourself while visiting our site. We are sure that you will find a wealth of information and the feeling of unity which drives our community to be one of the best around.
