My guess is that it's a simple production flaw. They got their information for the box art when it was the CBY at first and never bothered changing it when they started production of the kit, manual, and box. Confusing or not, SonicSP should be all giddy about this because it's just one more thing for us to talk about, right?

Giddy?? GIDDY??!!!!!!! Well it is nice to have something to talk about. I just wished it was for something to improve the series not something that make all reference and logic go out the window. For the record, the main 00I main site still lists it as CBY-001, so calubin may not be correct. Then again, it rarely updates anyways so at this point of time Im not sure it's credible or not.
I actually think it's a misprint as well, unfortunately it's one that have grave consequences.
For the moment, references goes out the window now. If it is CBY-001, then the CB-001.5 is much more confusing and not very progressive at all, especially if Leif's 1 Gundam is also still CBY-001.
Speaking if which, Radioactive from Mechatalk made anparaphrase translation:
| QUOTE ("radioactive28") | Nothing too unexpected...
Binders control particles/field much like Alvaaron, so we have the Alvaaron Cannon. As a bonus, they have small rifles built into the binders, shooting from the tips. Standby mode doesn't appear to serve any purpose, but they can readily shift into Attack mode, where the particles/field control can help augment the handheld beam rifle. Works on either side. Binders also allow high-angle fire (first time I've heard of this term) and simultaneous attack/defence. |
