Now that they've made up their minds on what they want to call it, here's a thread.

The binders sure are posable, as demonstrated by Standby Mode or whatever.

They named the cannons as "Alvaaron cannon". Sounds a bit lame, but I guess this unit came after it then.

That is one odd storage/standby mode in the middle-right images; all it reminds me off is Gundam X and how it stores its Microwave Receivers.

I'm still not quite sure what the point of Flight Mode is. I mean, maybe there's thrusters for improved speed and whatnot, but I can't imagine their being wings will do much for aerodynamics.

Unless it GN machines use electromagnetism like the Flags to conpensate for their lack of aerodynamic form? [........just throwing one out there, I dont even believe it myself]

I wonder if its some sort of large clevical antenna or a binder like the GN-X that can be used to further improve thrust? [like the Advanced GN-X binders?]

I am however glad to see the cannon named Alvaaron, I always thought for a long time that the Alvaaron the suit as a design just popped out of nowhere but seeing 1 Gundam as a source later on really made me happy. This new 1.5 Gundam would have been a nice complexion in the developement chart as it possibly takes technology from the Alvaaron, or at least is inspired by it via the name.

For the record, we can make the normal 1 Gundam from the upcoming kit, can we not? The option of it would be nice.

Yes; the model ad there even depicts the normal 1 Gundam at the bottom there.

The Advanced GN-X's speed comes from its added and improved thrusters (And in Amy's case, removing their safety limiters); it isn't due to the binders.

CBY-001 again! Inconsistency, thy name is Gundam.

I think all 1 Gundams produced after the first one that Beside Pain piloted back in 00P are designated as CB-001, similar to how Zeon mobile suits are numbered.

The binder rifle and Alvaaron cannon mode seem hard to distinguish at first, but the former is simply a barrel situated on the tip of the binders while the latter parallels the same system as the Alvaaron's high output gun, whereby the two binders generate a field at the center point. In terms of the postures exhibited in the array of modes, I think they can only serve their respective functions, with the standby mode as defense oriented implying a GN Field capability given it copies Alvaaron's binders. However, the Alvaaron cannon mode consumes so much particles that it can only fire once per start up/sortie. That said, I really wonder whether Alejando's drive worked differently.

Overall a beautiful design, I hope an MG comes out.

Overly multi-purpose binders, I don't think this is the first. I am not talking about the Rick Dias' propellant tank/maneuverable binders but CE's Noir Striker.

Wow, this is really a good design. Flight Mode looks interesting as well.

But I really really really really hate Bandai right now. With this, some people are going to start questioning the model number again as fat as referencing goes. CB-001 makes the most sense especially given 1.5 Gundam's number but still.........

I wonder if what calubin said about the model number makes sense though. Any chance that it might be true?

Because at this point, really all the sources are very confusing and contradicting.

My guess is that it's a simple production flaw. They got their information for the box art when it was the CBY at first and never bothered changing it when they started production of the kit, manual, and box.

Confusing or not, SonicSP should be all giddy about this because it's just one more thing for us to talk about, right?

Giddy?? GIDDY??!!!!!!! Well it is nice to have something to talk about. I just wished it was for something to improve the series not something that make all reference and logic go out the window. For the record, the main 00I main site still lists it as CBY-001, so calubin may not be correct. Then again, it rarely updates anyways so at this point of time Im not sure it's credible or not.

I actually think it's a misprint as well, unfortunately it's one that have grave consequences.

For the moment, references goes out the window now. If it is CBY-001, then the CB-001.5 is much more confusing and not very progressive at all, especially if Leif's 1 Gundam is also still CBY-001.

Tokita, one of the guys who works on 00I, managed to screw up the 1.5's designation recently, so I'm far less inclined to think there's any sort of intentional plan behind the CBY-001/CB-001 inconsistency.

Meh, he's like me. Love gunplas and cats. Unlike me, he doesn't se to care much about model desgnation accuracy.

00I's official site updates monthly, in sync with the chapter releases, so I don't think its something to be held against its credibility.
