QUOTE (Gundam|News)
Ribbons Almack:
After five years having gone by, there is no change felt in his form. What does the meaning of the word Innovator have?

Based on his outfit, his unchanged appearance is the result of the curative properties of Jefferson Starship. tongue.gif

What is it with these Celestial Being robots being "questionable" in their sexual alignment?

If you're referring to the "form" then it has to do with his appearance >>;;

There was a semi-joking comment made at the recent fan event where Setsuna tells Tiera he hasn't aged a day and Tiera responds he hears that alot. Combined with this...hmmm

Apparently in the future, Oil of Olay will have a line of products aimed at bishonen. biggrin.gif

Ribbons' mystery is the same as Tieria's, so I'm not too preoccupied with that. What his supposed plan for humanity is, though...my sense is that he has a different objective in mind than Aeolia Schenberg, whereas Alejandro just wanted to take it over for himself. He's on record in 25 saying that Alejandro's obsession with his family taking over and leading Celestial Being made him a small man. This is a guy with a serious, defined goal.

I've come to really like the theory that he used to be the pilot of the 0 Gundam. He could be the new "distortion" that Setsuna has to defeat, only for him to find out the truth that the one who had "become Gundam" and inspired him to do the same is now his enemy. That would be quite the crisis of faith and confidence for our hero.

It seems Wang Liu Mei is Ribbon's "behind Celestial Being Lines" tool, just as Alejandro was. I don't like the fact that she's still so trusted by Ian and such, but I get the feeling she'll be used as a puppet just as everyone else has been by Ribbons thus far. He's a crafty fairy, he is.

I know, right? And I, for one, loved the sheer villainosity of the shot of him in the OP, just standing there smirking with his eyes glowing.

Also, shouldn't there be a section for the Innovators?

well, unless they're a "faction" of their own, it'd be like having the Overflag Squadron have their own section.

Um... what makes you think they aren't their own faction? Their goals are not necessarily the same as those of the Federation, which they are certainly manipulating.

STILL drives me crazy how he and the rest of his crew look like they could be of either sex. wacko.gif

Back to, I wonder just how and when he'll take the spotlight... and how many people did he puppeteer before doing so.

We will probably learn more about that interview later on.... Probably when it is most inconvenient for the other CB people. wink.gif

Ribbons seems to be good at turning on the "trust me, I'm your best friend" mojo. he has a large capacity for manipulating people by seeming to agree with them, and to give them a little help now and then "for their own good". This is a real-world style of gaining & using the help of people in the real world. It works very well here.

Interestingly enough, in episode 28 Ribbons clearly believes that he's fulfilling Schenberg's ideals. His arrogant remark that it's something normal humans can't accomplish certainly suggests an arrogance similar to that of the O Gundam pilot that existed in the novelization......

At first I thought that maybe Ribbons would be taking over the CB plan and bending it toward some new purpose, but maybe he's just taking an "the ends justify the means" approach with A-Laws. He clearly believes unification is part of the plan and that's why he's such a huge force behind A-Laws, given how he's using Veda for information control. Also, according to the Federation President, the organization of A-Laws also owes a lot to Veda.

A-Laws really does seem like a corrupted Celestial Being now, doesn't it?
