Untranslated summary:
http://blog.goo.ne.jp/kouryakukan/e/23e266...5419ea2dcfe6cdb

EDIT: Kouryakukan updated with a full summary to replace the initial comments. The main points should be as follows; with any luck I haven't completely screwed this up.

-The project out by Jupiter was to build two new GN Drives, as both of 00 Raiser's were destroyed.

-Sherilyn seems to be working on improving GN Condenser technology.

-007S/G Inspection appears to be a simulator design.

.................................
.................................
.................................

You know what........something is wrong with the statement of the chapter and I'm too speechless and mesmerised to say it.

Kouryakukan HAS messed up the Drive mention thing before though, so I'm just waiting and see how it works out first before I start crying foul here and there with questions and caps. I am a calm man today.

Tomorrow may be different.

Anyway, thanks as always.

-------------------

Sigh.........well I cant help it. One of my predictions was a retcon of some sort in the future soemhow since the accounts of the Drive Inventory dont add up (tot he default 5) but I didnt mention it very often because its in the lower end part of my probability table. I didnt know it would have come true.

If this 2 Drive thing gone was true, I assume it was destroyed in the ensuing explosion during the 0 Gundam battle which frankly did not look that deadly. The BS definitely missed the cone unlike the GN Sword Kai but an explosion is an explosion as they say.

Still.........now that I think of it, the BS DID go through the torso and THAT is where Exia's Drive is. It happened last time too with the GN Flag but perhaps this time they were not so lucky.

Another possible alternative is that they lost the Drive sometime in the timeskip.......somehow.

Might want to get someone to double check this Sonic. A friend and I believe it is roughly "While fighting the Innovades that used the name Innovators, the two solar furnaces used in the Twin Drive broke".

Sigh............I knew something like this was going to happen. dry.gif

[EDIt]

Oh wait, sorry I misunderstodd that. I hate my memory sometimes and you have a really good one. Did 00V Senki 4 mentioned only one Drive was destroyed? Or should I finally resign to having Alzheimer's desease.

In any case, I'll try and get this checked out. If both Kouryakukan and your own reading says it, its probably correct. (unless you read both the post and the scan wrongly, Id doubt it but anything is possible I guess)

I.............miss our our Philiphino translator. sad.gif

-----------

That was a good laugh btw. The filename.

mike's translation of a segment from chapter 4 said one. Kouryakukan's summary suggested multiple.

Ah I remember those times. Lost, confiused, anger, sadness, betrayed. Good times.

Hmm..........we need to talk to mike actually to cross reference both. She should be around here at this time of the month unless she's preoccupied with something.

[I REALLY wanted to just up and say "inb4sonicrage" after Homeless posted the short summary, but I minded my manners XD]

So, if both of 00's drives were destroyed, did they just jack a drive from one of the others for that 00 Seven Sword/G chapter or something?

EDIT: Well, nvm, I guess it's obvious x.x classes fried my brain, pay me no mind.

I suppose it is amusing that for all this 'drama', casual viewers of the series probably won't have any idea that GN Drives were lost come the movie unless it is specifically mentioned within.

While we're on the topic, didnt Good Haro's translation or translation notes of 00V Senki 1 (also regarding the 00 Gundam Repair) said something like the "it had a GN Drive taken from another machine".

Okay technicaly, Exia is also "another machine" but if we're warping some semantics here, like lineages then technically it is a bit of a mystery of why they would take it from another machine. It doesnt matter that much since functionally they are exactly the same, but its slightly.........unerving that they had to go mention that.

If Exia's Drive did got destroyed in the final combat, then it adds just a bit of sense on why they had to go mention the statement, sine its obvious that a GN Drive had to be taken from somewhere other than a Driveless piece of floating frame.

And I think your right about the casual viewer drama thing. They'd probably did not notice where 0 Gundam Drive even came from in S2.

Still, screw a model number is one thing but if its really a retcon by the publisher rather than a lost in translation kind of thing regarding something as important as limited GN Drives then I'd *** ****** *** ******** ***** *******.

Off 'suki:

QUOTE (velocity7)
It says, "During the battle with the Innovades that called themselves Innovators, the solar reactors that were used in the Twin Drive System were both lost."

Off Mechatalk:

QUOTE (Arsarcana)
You mean, the bit about both of 00's Drives being lost in the final battle? Because that's what it looks like it says to me: 'In the battle with the Innovade who called himself an Innovator, the two solar furnaces used for the Twin Drive (System) were lost'.

Well, whatever the case at least the accounts are balanced.

This are the facts now, I dont have much of a problem with it although I really wish we knew more about the cirsumstances about the Drive was lost. I'm guessing what I aid earlier about the BS passing through the torso thing may be it.

Life goes on, and now I can finally start and read all the new names of the Harute and Raphael............which I havent done yet due to this thread and its high pririty issue.

Of the forementioned 00V Senki Chapter 4.

QUOTE ("Arsarcana")
Seems to be a retcon; the line in question is on the second image (which is actually the first page of the chapter) about halfway down the final column. 'In the battle with the Innovades, one precious solar furnace was lost'.

From mechatalk. So its looking more towards a retcon now it seems. In all absurd fairness, its not totally wrong. One solar furnace WAS lost, its just that they forgot to mention THE OTHER LOST ONE. They never mentioned they had four, we assumed it was the case.

haha, Mizushima. Very funny.

---------------

And now, I can finally just imagine Fon Spark away. Its obvious that he's some accidental creation of madness like the previous single Drive lost statement,

Now this is the what.............2nd retcon they have of the GN Drive status? First they're all fine, then one's gone, then two........? I hope its not a matter of Ian just failing primary school maths when he stated it in 00V Senki 4.

Oh well, its for the best. I'm actually quite happy with this, I just wished they'd told us sooner than just screw around (I'm sure they werent sure either). Now everything the HG00Q manual says click into place as such the 5 default Drive number. I guess this was the reason sidematerials were in the "grey" area of canon.

So does this mean we're back to a possible 6 GN Drives? Or am I missing something that keeps them at the magical number 5?

This chapter drops it back down to five drives, since it says that they lost two and 00Q's booklet says they built two new ones. It was possibly six before, when 00Q's booklet said they built two new ones and 00V had only mentioned the loss of one.

Hell of a simulation, Sherilyn. Personally, I think Seravee alone could take that.
