The first Memento Mori battle is combined with the second. Whilst Hank seizes the elevator, the Innovados help A-Laws destroy the Katharon forces trying to destroy MM. 00 Raiser arrives from Earth and Setsuna kills both Bring and Divine. It should be noted that the merge means Lindt was never transferred off Kati's ship. Ribbons offers snippy commentary, still flanked by Anew and Regene whilst Sergei flies his Taozi to the pillar.
Setsuna fires a massive blast which destoys most of MM (the same blast wipes out B and D) but not the critical laser, which fires at the elevator. Hank makes his final words to Sergei (still outside) and then dies in the explosion. All gathered forces attempt to destroy the wreckage (including Marie in GN Archer). A-Laws also shows up to help, with a final gag panel showing that Kati gagged and bound Lindt before mobilising her troops.

well, I suppose Lindt's death wasn't really THAT influential. Just kind of a cheering point for those who were kind of sick of him.

Condensing this part of the show... I wonder... if this change would've given them more time to focus on wrapping the series up?

The only real change this time is Sergei's death. Somehow Andrei trashes the Taozi enough that Sergei ends up falling out of it and down through the sky. Soma tries to catch him in the GN Archer but is mere inches from missing him.

It's kind of silly but it feels like one of those 'Ouch, nasty' deaths you'd see from Tomino.

Changes I'm sure some will like. Basically, after Regene has given Wang the location of Veda, Ribbons dispatches what is implied to be Anew to kill him. Although she succeeds, it turns out that Regene has a final trump card- he deactivates a cloaking system which had been hiding the Celestial Being, pissing Ribbons off highly. The location now revealed, the Gundams head to the massive ship.

It's worth pointing out Regene does this because Nena's first attempt to kill Wang and Hong Long is successful. Further, Anew is being controlled by Ribbons to do the killing (she herself seems unhappy with the idea). It seems that in all fairness, the manga has done with Regene what most of us expected in show. I think this is better than the 'I wanna be leader cause I'm a brat!'

Regene still amounts to a worthless character that just wasted screen/page time, but its easier to swallow than the ultimately pointless Nena cliffhanger in the anime.

Anew never made it to the Ptolemy, right? I wonder how Ribbons will get the TDS data then.

Nope, Anew's been flanking Ribbons for all her time in the manga. I doubt she'll even get her entire romance sub-plot here. Maybe they'll just say Wang got the data instead?

Given how the staff can't make up their minds about how Innovado gender works, I doubt the fairly unfaithful manga adaptation is all that concerned with it.

The manga pretty much scraps Setsuna in favour of making Tieria the focus. Setsuna activates Trans-Am Burst whilst A-Laws and Katharon/Feds are still fighting. This allows Tieria, who seems to be dieing in a wrecked Seravee's cockpit to join with Veda. Hence, when Ribbons enters the central core he is met with naked Holo-Tieria who starts lecturing him. Setsuna is pretty much just a means to the end in this chapter, as Tieria further uses the Trans-Am Burst to talk to all of his allies (I'm assuming this the manga's 'Now I'll explain the Aeolia Plan).

Setsuna does get to do something cool by killing both Hilling and Revive by himself. Further, Ali's death is now changed to MS combat. Cherudim takes pity on Arche and from there things pretty much go as on the show except with the respective MS. Interesting, but I think it loses the irony the TV version has.

Also, Billy actually shoots Sumeragi in the arm...this makes their hugging moments later fairly creepy.

Hilarious.

So, does Arche try and shank Cherudim or does Ali try and pull out the sword's Rifle Mode?

The actual scene is somewhat confusing. One armed Cherudim points a gun at Arche. After some debate, Lyle stands down. Seizing the moment, Ali tries to stab him (wielding the sword like a knife. Then...some pipes and tubes explode, taking Arche with them as Ali screams. Cherudim leaves as Lyle looks back briefly and says something.
This is where language skills would help but either A: Lyle quickly shot elsewhere in the corridor to indirectly kill Ali or B: Ali is offed by random bad luck/karma.
