Welcome to Fly High!
We are an Alternate Universe Harry Potter role-play game. The main premise of this board is to actually be able to role-play the fast-paced, high-energy game of Quidditch! Here you will be able to assume the identiy of a National Quidditch Star- attaining all the perks, and downfalls, of being in the lime-light. There is no word count- we strive for quality over quantity and actually moving the story forward. Here, we are accepting, friendly, and strive to be a drama-free community.
Have a look around- we hope to pique your interest!

Fly High It's been a pretty quiet couple of centuries- from a wizarding point of view at least. Sure, there's the occasional troll problem, banshee scare, or knucklehead attempting to import chimera eggs- you know, things that keep the Ministry on their toes- but, on the whole, everyone's life just seems to go on. Young witches and wizards go off to Hogwarts every September, adults get up and go to work every day, and everything's fairly well... normal.
In an attempt to escape their mundane lives, the one thing that is on everybody's mind is Quidditch! This magical sport would liven up even the greyest day and the magical community breathes it morning, afternoon, and night. In the past decade or two however, it has become more and more difficult to hide the large masses of attendees from Muggle view. The Ministry has tried a variety of options over the years, but none of them seem to be very effective.
In fact, two years ago the Ministry rented an abandoned Muggle farmhouse way out in the countryside. A few waves of their wands later, and the whole thing was transformed into a 60,000 room hotel- complete with shops and restaurants! Everything seemed to be working out splendidly until just after the Final Match.
Several Arrows fans were having quite the time, celebrating their victory on the roof of the hotel. Several bottles of Firewhiskey and other such intoxicants later, the group began firing off all sorts of spells in every direction. To them, nothing seemed amiss- but, they were not able to see the Muggle airplane passing overhead due to the thick covering of clouds that night.
At first, all the Muggles saw were jets of light streaming past the windows, and while this peaked their interest, it wasn't something that their logic could not explain away. It was what happened next that caused such a big problem- one of the intoxicated wizards cast a series of shooting arrows into the air. This might not have been such a big deal if the plane had not been going by overhead, but, as it was, several of the arrows made impact with an engine causing it to explode!
Completely unbeknownst to the partying wizards, the plane quickly lost altitude and made an emergency landing several miles away- thankfully nobody had been killed, though several were injured. The next morning, when the Muggle newspapers ran the story, the Ministry almost had a panic attack! Almost all of the airplane's five-hundred plus passengers had reported seeing various colored streams of light shooting up through the clouds just moments before the engine blew, and, as if it couldn't get any stranger, the Muggle authorities could not explain how the engine had just simply combusted like that or why. During their investigation thus far, they had recovered several scraps of what appeared to be arrow-heads from the wreckage- absolutely nothing was making sense.
It took the Ministry several months and hundreds of modified minds to smooth the whole situation over. After such a horrible disaster, they vowed to never use a Muggle location for something so important ever again. Now, after over a year of planning, they have finally made the finishing touches on the plans for this year's tournament- and if the rumors are even half-true, it is going to be quite a spectacular display!
So my fine Quidditch fans, grab your Omnioculars and get your tickets early- you don't want to be the only one that missed the action right? This year is shaping up as the tournament that they'll be talking about for centuries to come! Keep your eye trained on the latest copy of Witch Weekly, they're sure to reveal more juicy details to us as opening day, June 2nd, looms nearer!
