FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ''

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE IDEA FOR THE BOARD?
LIADW is based off of the 2007 movie Hot Fuzz. The rpg is situated in a different location than the film, but holds the same themes: the small idyllic village that seems absolutely perfect, the bumbling police force whose sole purpose seems to be to round up the occasional swan that's escaped from the castle, a group called the NWA that has made it their personal responsibility to get rid of those who threaten the village 'for the greater good' and make them look like accidents, and a colorful population of citizens. Think a mix of horror, mystery, and comedy.

IF I HAVE A PROBLEM, WHO CAN I CONTACT?
If you have a problem with anything, you can contact the admins through the links to their profiles in the sidebar. We suggest that you check the online members before you pm a staff member to see whose currently active in order to get a quicker response. We'll do our best to resolve the problem.

DO I HAVE TO CREATE A CHARACTER WHO IS GOING TO DIE?
No. Here at LIADW, we try to keep our character creation rules as simple as possible and therefore we will not tell you what is going to happen to your character. Although for the plot of the board to progress, some characters will have to die. On occasion, the staff will throw an idea out there that might involve just this in which case we'll acecpt volunteers. We understand that when a member creates a character, they put a lot of work, energy, and emotion into them, but we also hope that as a community we can creatively think of plot developments together.

WHY DOES A CHARACTER HAVE TO AT LEAST BE IN THEIR 30'S TO BE A MEMBER OF THE NWA?
The NWA is made up of the most respected members of the village. These are individuals who fully embody the ideals of the village and have been sought out by members to be a part of this society. They are members who would do anything to protect the villiage that they love so dearly from whatever threats might come their way. Based on this, the 30's age minimum seemed like a decent breaking point. Younger members of the board just wouldn't have earned the standing in the community to have been accepted into the NWA. That being said, not every older member of the village has been approached to be a member of the NWA either.

WHY AREN'T THERE ANY PLOT PAGES?
Simply put: they inhibit actual roleplaying. From experience, it acts more as a myspace of the roleplaying world to see how many friends and lovers a character can accumulate without actually roleplaying out a situation. We are a highly member-driven board and the board can't succeed when character's aren't actually roleplaying. Plus, on almost every board that I've seen with plot pages, there are more posts in said pages then there are in actual IC threads.

ARE THERE TIMES WHEN CERTAIN TYPES OF CHARACTERS WILL BE LIMITED?
Well, yes and no. While we hope that as a community we are capable of creating a certain amount of balance between character types and genders, if there is an obvious spike in a certain group, we will cap it until we achieve a balance. When we do this, we are not trying to micromanage what type of characters that you create, we simply hope that in doing such we can help create an equal distribution of characters throughout the board.
