Magic?

Hello my minions... I mean pets... I mean... friends! Ah, yes that's the word.

I have not had much time on the computer since I entered adulthood, and for a month before that, so I apologize for that. But I have no excuse for the other... 3 or 4 months I guess.

I can only say that I was disappointed and frustrated that I couldn't bring DLAA back to life. See I'm very instant gratification and I give up to some extent when I don't see what I imagined.

So here's why I'm posting.

I think that DLAA's magic is gone. Our time has passed.

Very few of us even play neopets anymore, no one on neo knows about us, as well.

Friendships have grown apart, we're divided in some personal wars with each other.

Overall, I think taht we communicate more over Twitter, Facebook, or IM's now that the forums.

This is why I decided that come November, when the site renewal comes up, I will end DLAA. This is, of course, unless someone else wants to take over.

It was a big undertaking, one that I could not fufill to it's potential.

This decision was also due to the fact that I'm now working full time (still McDonalds, as a manager now). I'll also be returning to school to get some courses I didn't get when in school. The following year I'm going to be entering into a Mental Rehabilitionist course, to work in group homes and hospitls with mentally challenged/ personality disordered patients.

Please don't think I took this decision lightely, I did not to any extent. I've been debating what to do for 2 1/2 months. I just don't think we'll be able to revive this. Even if we did CPR.

I don't know what changed, but the magic left, and that saddens me greatly. We've grown together, supported each other, and found excellent friends as well.

Most of us are now adults, some have gotten married, others are having children. We're not the same anymore.

I myself have turned to the Wizard Rock community.

I'll try to be online as much as possible until November comes and we shut down.

This makes me very sad. Mostly, I suppose, because I never got to truly be a partner. I will have to endeavor to send my pets out to good homes by myself...

I don't blame you. I, myself, was hoping to do great things with DLAA when it got to us to run. But going into adulthood really does change things big time. It's not really all fun and games. At least we had a good run though, right? DLAA was started in 2002, and I think it had a good 4 or 5 active years. I first joined DLAA when I was 14 years old. I'm now 19 about to be 20. Wow, that's a long time in the internet world. I met a lot of people here that I still talk to elsewhere. I'm glad DLAA was a part of my life, as childish as it may seem now.

I'm really sad to let this go, but I do agree that DLAA's time has past unfortunately. :c
Like Bonk, I am glad to have come across DLAA and meet all you lovely people!

I'll apologize to those who, like Ves, didn't get a chance to experience being a Partner on DLAA as well. D:

There's no need to apologize! Sometimes forums just get tired. This is the way of the internet. I too am very glad that I was a part of DLAA for as long as I was.

Sorry to see DLAA go, but it's true - Everything has a shelf-life. Neo itself has changed in ways that make adoption agencies almost meaningless.
I'll remember all the good times, of course, and in a very weird way, continue on as Dr.X until I shut the door on that project.
