What do you look like? Logan stands roughly six feet and two inches tall. He has a broad build to him, and is very well defined muscularly. His posture is extremely straight, and he is very military-like in appearance. His eyes speak more than his mouth. His eyes are a peaceful yet sharp blue color that contrast very much with his dark black hair. His hair is cut short and easy to comb so that he doesn't have to bother with it too much and he usually doesn't bother with it too much, which is evident by it's style and the way it is kept. His facial features are rather usual. He has a broad chin, but not a double or cleft chin. He usually tries to keep himself clean shaven, but is often seen with a bit of a shadow on his face because he doesn't always have time to shave. He'll usually only go a day or two without shaving, and he has no intention of growing any kind of facial hair permanently. His features are generally hard and do not soften unless he smiles for a prolonged amount of time. He wears plain clothes, a t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and some boots for the majority of the time. He always wears boots, never sneakers, and never flip-flops. He will wear his fatigues if needed, camo pants, camo shirt, combat boots, etc, but only when training or practicing. When in combat or in professional use he wears his uniform.
What kind of personality do you have? He is a quiet man, but he is very strong in his will and in his beliefs. He is friendly, but quiet, and doesn't often give a lot of words, usually just enough to communicate what he wants to communicate. He believes very strongly in "God-given rights of man" that supercedes the "God-given authority given to government" and takes those rights to apply to Mutants as well as Men. He believes in equality of humans and mutants, and he believes that it has come to the point that Mutant civil rights need to be established. He is gentle and kind to those who are innocent, or weak, and he is respectful to those in authority so long as they do not abuse that authority, but in his opinion the American Government is not innocent, or weak, and has abused its power to strip mutant kind of the civil rights they are entitled to.
Put him in a new environment and he'll observe and take mental notes before anything else. He is also very military-minded, having military tactics trained into him since childhood. He looks for points of vulnerability in almost every building he enters, and his mind constantly runs military tactics and scenarios in the background of everything if he is not focusing entirely on something else. Although he does not publicly advertise his opinions he does not back down if they are asked, and he will give them all on whatever subject is being questioned without restraint or concern for another's feelings. Feelings, and emotions, are things that are just beyond the realm of his comprehension. They've been trained out of them, not to say that they aren't there, but appealing to him on the basis of emotional response to something is not going to get you very far. He thinks very logically about everything, and doesn't base his actions on how it would make someone feel. He doesn't believe in love, and has a very Napoleonic view of religion. Meaning that he believes religion exists merely for the purpose of controlling other people. He doesn't trust the media either, just as he doesn't trust the government, or religion.
He trusts the people that he is close to and has talked to, but he doesn't have a whole lot of secrets to share. Other people find it difficult to open to him as well. It's not that he isn't trustworthy, he just doesn't make it easy for people to open up to him very naturally. He frankly doesn't care about someone's old childhood horror story, if they're alive and can fight than they're fine. He questions his own psychological health sometimes, wondering if the way he is is really the way he is supposed to be, or if he has been ruined and his humanity taken from him by his training and his father. He thinks a lot, but he is nowhere near a true philosopher, he asks the questions as the situations arise, he does not merely just sit and think for the heck of it. To be honest he'd prefer to be active. Training, running, exercising, and actually putting his ideas into practice than sitting there and discussing or debating every little thing.
Character History Logan's history starts where any true history starts: His family. Dittmar is a German family, moved to America during the 18th century. Logan himself comes from a long line of soldiers. His father was a veteran of Vietnam, his grandfather was a veteran of the Second World War, his great grandfather was a veteran of the First World War, and he had predecessors in the Civil War, the War of 1812 (or the Seven Year war as it was called in Europe), The American Revolution, and the French and Indian War. Logan's grandfather, Charles Dittmar was a mutant with a mutation that granted him strength greater than that of a normal human. His father was not born with an active X-Gene, but his cousin Jack was. Mutants are in the family, and are treated no differently than any other member of the family with no differentiation made between humans and mutants. This is the model Logan had growing up, he also had the soldier model. He came from a long line of military fighters, and he was going to uphold the line. He never even really questioned it.
His mother came from a family that was German as well, Anne Rohrer, but was not from such a militaristic or diverse family. She died giving childbirth to Logan's younger sister Ruth who was in fact a mutant. Logan was born the oldest of a set of fraternal twins, that is his brother Caleb was born at the same time, but the two were not identical in appearance. The twins were born after one other sibling, Susan, who was at least ten by the time they were born. The two were raised from infancy to toddler by their mother, but with the birth of their younger sister when they were six their mother died, and they were left with their father, grandfather, sister Susan, and new sister Ruth. Their father worked as a trainer for the military at a marine training facility in New Jersey, and they lived on the base with him. Their grandfather lived there for the majority of the year, but spent time with his daughter and her husband and his other grandchildren who lived in Vermont.
The boys, Logan and Caleb, underwent military training from their father as an average part of life. When they were young they loved it. To them they were just playing soldier, and as it went on it was just considered a normal part of life to them. The girls did not however undergo the rigorous training that the boys did. They all attended a local schools during their childhood and it was there that Logan made his first non-family friend. A young girl by the name of Heidi was his classmate and sat next to him in kindergarten, and first grade, and second, third, fourth, fifth grade as well. The two were almost inseperable when they were younger, and by Junior High they probably would have ended up dating, but Logan never made a move. He was too... bashful, he never made a single suggestion that the two should even attempt at dating. He had other friends as well, a few guys, a few girls through his sisters, a few of his father's friends, and of course his twin Caleb.
High school was probably the most interesting age he had to endure. The guys and the girls hooking up, going out, he never really got involved with a girls, though a few flirted with him he was never really interested in it. He was apathetic to it. He was interested in two things, his training, and his education. Both of which he used. He used his combat training, given to him by his father since he was about six, for self defense on one specific occasion. His friends, particularly his friend Jared, set up a sort of bet between his other friends as to whether or not Logan could beat up the class bully. The bully specifically left Logan and Caleb alone throughout their years there, but Jared set it up so that they had no choice but to confront each other. He rigged it so that the bully thought that Logan had convinced his girlfriend to cheat on him with another guy, and that Logan himself had the intent to make a move on the bully. Needless to say the bully wasn't too happy, and the fact that a majority of people assumed since he had never shown interest in a girl therefore he was homosexual didn't help either. A fight ensued after school in which Logan fought the bully who was bigger than Logan was. Logan however actually knew how to fight, and quite easily ended the fight thanks to his training.
There was only one real thing wrong with the entire plan, the kid Jared hadn't expected the bully to pull a knife during the fight. Upon being defeated in hand-to-hand the kid pulled a knife while Logan was walking away, and managed to stab it into the back of his right shoulder. Caleb ran up to him, and ended the fight for sure, before moving over to his brother. Logan had pulled the knife out, and blood had stopped coming from the wound. Caleb examined it. He could see that it was slowly binding itself together again. Someone had called the cops, Logan, Caleb, Jared, the Bully, and five other kids were detained and brought to the station for the incident. By the time the police examined Logan the cut was gone, the only trace of it being the blood on his clothes, but since it was Logan's own blood there was no criminal prosecution against him. There was however criminal prosecution against the bully. Logan and Jared never spoke to each other again, Logan as angry at him beyond words, not only had he got Logan stabbed and exposed him as a mutant to everyone watching, but he'd ruined the bully's life for mere profit.
Upon trying to consciously replicate the healing his body had done earlier, after he was home and alone in his shared bedroom (shared with Caleb), he found another ability. He screamed and fell to the floor as another him appeared where he had been standing. He stood up and stood face to face with himself. Or at least a copy of himself. They talked a bit, questioned each other, they had the same intelligence, the same memories, the same everything, but the copy knew he was a copy, and he knew that Logan was the original. Not having anything else to do Logan challenged him to a game of chess, which proved exceedingly difficult for both of them. They seemed to have similar strategies, and seemed to be able to guess each other's movements extremely easily, though they were sometimes wrong. It wasn't as easy to defeat himself in Chess as he thought it might be. During the game the copy ended up smacking his hand on the table in frustration, which caused Logan to feel the pain on his own palm. It was an odd sensation, but this whole thing was a new discovery anyway. After about a six hours however his copy disappeared, faded into the air, as though it weren't really real. Logan had felt it, he knew it was real, or at least had been, and he understood now what he really was. It was going to be an interesting life from now on.
His family life didn't change much at all, his grandfather came by a lot more often now, and had several long conversations with him about wars, and about mutations. His classmates didn't seem to understand very well, and he was even more of a social outcast than he had been before. His siblings stuck by him, although his sister Susan grew up and moved out. His father and grandfather stuck by him and defended him, but the school basically trusted him as far as they could throw him, and they did the best they could just to hold on until he graduated. His siblings felt it too, the whole family had permanently lost some social standing in the town. His junior year in highschool tragedy struck the family at the death of his grandfather. The funeral was held at the military base, and his grandfather was buried with a special veteran service. This, along with his love for training and combat, helped him make the decision of what to do with his life.
Upon his highschool graduation Logan did not go to college, but rather signed up with the marines. Training was no problem, he was highly trained already in basic combat, firearm use, and he was physically more fit than his own trainer. Upon completion of training he was transferred to another base overseas, where he quickly rose through the ranks and within five years reached the rank of First Sergeant due to several heroic efforts on the field where he had participated in several peace keeping missions and skirmishes. He spent six years total years with the marines before his contract was up and he returned to the states to take a leave from the service, at least for a little while. He had all of his money saved as a soldier, he had saved it wisely, and kept it in several overseas accounts.
In the marines, overseas, he had met another mutant by the name of James King. This man was a firm believer in mutant rights, and a strong soldier in the U.S. Army. His skin was an organo-metalic alloy that was virtually indestructible, and he had no qualms about it, though Logan kept his own mutation as secret as he could. The two became good friends, and had some rather long discussions when off duty. It was James that perhaps influenced him the most regarding civil rights of mutants and raised his awareness to the sad state of the mutant situation in the states. Now that he was back in America he wanted to try and fix things to the way James would want them (James was still overseas).
Unfortunately before he got the opportunity to try and do anything he was reactivated and put into special forces training. Once his special forces training was completed he was recruited into the Delta Force where he was placed on a four man team. Arthur Williams an Army Ranger, Donald Douglass U.S. Navy Seal, and his old friend James King U.S. Marine Corp were the other three men on the team. Arthur and Donald both had much more experience in Special Operations than James and Logan, but the four of them worked together extremely well. He spent two years on this four man team performing various Special Forces missions before he discovered that there was a third mutant on the team. Donald apparently had a limited form of telekinesis which he used to save Arthur's life during one of their missions where he visibly shielding him from a mortar round. Arthur was grateful, and despite the fact that he was human didn't bear ill will towards any of his "brothers" once that Logan admitted to Donald and Arthur that he was a mutant as well. In fact being the only human in the squad had probably been good for Arthur.
After six years on the Delta Force and numerous training programs Logan was given leave for six months. Not knowing what to do with himself he spent the time back in the States where he began to witness everything that was going on with the mutant and human relations fiasco. Needless to say this angered Logan to the point of activism, unfortunately he'd spent too much time in the military where his own feelings were invalid. Truth be told he was glad that the Brotherhood was doing what it was doing, and he was disappointed that SWORD had opened up the Weapon X program. It seemed to be a wonderful time to be a soldier, he was thrilled when his six months of leave were up. Unfortunately however he was not reinstated, but was instead honorably discharged without being given a reason.
Now in the United States without a job he put an application in to work for SHIELD. He certainly had the experience and if they could over look his mutation they could even use it to their advantage, but he would not work with SWORD or Weapon X. In fact he hoped to turn the tide against such use of mutants, but he wanted to try and do it legitimately rather than by force.
If you have them, what are your Meta human or mutant abilities? Logan's brain is connected with his body in such a way that his very molecular structure is somehow related to his brain's functions. This allows him to do two things. The first is through a conscious decision or act of will he can cause his molecules to duplicate themselves. This allows him to create copies, or clones, of himself. These copies are exactly like him in physical appearance, carrying not only his genes, but his thoughts, skills, and memory within them. These copies are composed of molecules that have been taken from the space surrounding Logan and infused with Logan's own molecular structure in order to create a perfect duplicate. However these copies are molecularly unstable and break down and return to their original state inside of six hours. In other words, the copies last for six hours and then return to air. If for some reason a duplicate is killed the body's molecular structure will break down and dissipate returning to the air.
These copies, though they are exact replicas, do not copy his mutant abilities. When he creates these copies he also duplicates the molecules of anything directly in skin contact with him for more than eighty percent of his skin tissue. In other words, the copies of him also have a copy of his clothes. He can create one at a time, and the process takes ten seconds total, it is however excruciatingly painful and makes him feel as though he's being ripped apart over every inch of his body. The most he ever creates is four or so copies for one basic period, but the upper limit of his duplication is not known to him. Logan has a very weak psionic link with these which allows him to control them though they are capable of acting on their own, this psionic link also works to protect Logan making it impossible for his duplicates to "rebel" against him. The downside of this link is that Logan feels whatever pain a copy experiences as though it were actually being done to him. There is no physical damage from this, but the "phantom feeling" can be quite painful none the less.
Because of the nature of his abilities Logan's own molecular structure isn't like an ordinary persons and is malleable to a certain point. If for some reason pushed out of the way his molecular structure will reshape itself to its original form. In other words, if his body is hurt or punctured, or damaged, it will return itself to its original form, or "heal" itself within a matter of minutes depending on the extent of the damage. It may take up to ten minutes to heal a deep knife wound, or as little as three seconds to heal a scratch. In the case of a bullet wound the bullet is pushed out as the molecules reform, but the process itself can take up to half an hour depending on the depth. A shot to the head or any other vital organ which would cause him to die would kill him and keep his powers from healing him. This ability does not allow him to replace lost molecules, it simply returns them to their original state. In other words, he cannot regrow limbs or organs which have been taken, he can only heal the ones that are there. The link his powers share with his brain keeps this side effect from interfering with his bodies internal functions.
Do you carry any conventional weapons or have any unusual non-mutation related skills? Logan is never found without a combat knife in his boot. Other than that he has a variety of weapons and explosives of his own "private" collection in addition to the standard issue SHIELD weapons. His armory includes two 9mm pistols, four .45 calibur magnums, 1 M-16 carbine, 1 bolt action Recoiless Sniper Rifle, 1 XM80 with secondary grenade fire, a variety of knives including three combat sheath knives, four folding knives, three throwing knives, and numerous others. He also has a variety of explosives including tear gas grenades, smoke bombs, fragmentation grenades, concussion grenades, dynamite, and C-4 explosive. He has undergone extensive training regarding explosives and knows how to disarm as well as make homemade explosives. He has extensive training in weapon use as well as demolitions and vehicles. He can pilot a two man plane without any trouble but has not logged any hours other than those required for training on any cargo vehicles. His combat abilities are superb as he plenty of training and experience in combat with the U.S. Marines and the Delta Force.
