Fifteen million killed in genocide. Magneto rumored to be among them. His beloved nation Genosha has been reduced to nothing more than ashes and broken buildings, along with the grisly remains of the dead scattered across the walk ways. The cries of his people are rendered immortal, as his daughter, Polaris creates art in the squalid wake of his death: a huge three headed statue in the middle of the newly created desert island.

Hatred is now ever present in the streets of world. The number of anti-mutant protests have skyrocketed into the millions in recent months. This new behavior in humans will only create the worst possible story the world has ever seen to date. To try and relax human and mutant connections, Professor Charles Francis Xavier, leader in genetic science, has come out of the shadows on two legs announces to the world that he is a mutant.

Laws
Rules

At the Xavier's School for the Gifted - and it's subsidiary programmes - there are a number of guidelines which must be followed. Please refer to the following school handbook.

General Rules

* No God Moding - You are not God. You cannot control another player's actions.
Ex: [[Luka walked through the forest, enjoying the crisp air. // Marcus saw Luka walking and burst out in laughter as she tripped over a stump.]] Never assume another player's actions in an RP. Assuming makes you look like an idiot and assuming will get you kicked off the site.

* No Power Playing - Your character is not all knowing, they are not a mind reader, and they can be lied to. Every one has limits, but every one gets sick and every one dies. Be reasonable about what you choose to do and how you do it. It can be fun to RP that side of a situation, so don't be afraid to take it.

* In the OOC - Don't threaten people or be rude in the OOC. If one character doesn't like yours, that doesn't mean you have to hate the person who RP's them.

* It's Twinkie Time! - Yes, we must have rules about the "Twinkie" and the "Wrapper". Please, when having Twinkie Time post a warning at the top of your post. (It wouldn't hurt to give your roommate a warning either, wouldn't want them to dance in while you're doing your boy or girlfriend.)

* Swearing - Keep it down to... wait, never mind. Swear all you want. Certain characters like Wolverine and Deadpool do swear frequently, and you'll know your character well enough to know how much they do.

* Blood and Gore - This a power and battles type role play, of course there is going to be bleeding and whatever. I don't care how into it you get. You want to gross the person out you're role playing with when your character's bone rips through the skin - go for it.

* Vegetarianism - If your character is a vegetarian, you might find them subjected to getting tied up and force fed meatloaf by Deadpool. Don't say we didn't warn you.

* Other Marvel Characters - During a few "special plots", some other Marvel characters will become available for play. You may play them after the plot if you want to be active as them. Some characters will remain listed as available at all times. These characters are currently on the canon list.

Canons

* In Character - Please keep all canons as they are written, in character. No one wants to see Wolverine dancing in the daisy fields, or making paper doll chains. (Unless of course, he's being controlled by Cassandra Nova.)

* Multiple Accounts - You may play as many canon characters as you want, just keep them in character and keep them active.

* Canons shouldn't always be on top. They can get hurt and feel emotional and physical pain. You can't win everything. An original character can be just as strong in emotions, powers, and physical strength.

* Just because you play a canon, doesn't mean you are the better role player. Canon players may know more about their characters and the comics, and must be willing to share information to those who don't, while also treating their characters with respect. .

* Canon characters will be judged harshly. I will not go on my knowledge alone when I read your application. Research and consultation will be made to ensure you're the one best fit for the role.

* Relationships - Canon relationships are to be kept. Certain relationships are key to certain characters, like Wolverine and Jubilee, and Scott and Jean.

* Religion - Religions, yes I know that word scares you, but you have to have knowledge of where your character stands on his or her religion. A lot of newer canons do not have a stated religion and I'm aware of this but for characters like Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Wolfsbane, it is important for your application.

You can not shove personal views down other people's throats.

* New Relationships - You can have a relationship with anyone, but please keep canonical true loves in mind and sexual tension between certain characters.

* Sexual Orientation - Do not change the sexuality of characters. This is not based solely on a specific time period but keep the sexualities as they are written in the main universe.

* Character History - A canon's full history is not needed. The institute is only about seven to eight years old in this role play. They aren't dead yet if you're going to roleplay them, so don't tell us why or how they died. Also, Wolverine's past will not be as current Marvel. Start from WW2 plus.

Original Characters

* Children of the X-Men - If they aren't canon, they don't exist, unless you make me believe it's possible. The character must be able to mold into the canon's storyline perfectly. Bella having a child with Remy will not work and neither will Wolverine having one with Jean. So, get that out of your head now. (Before Cyclops does it for you.)

* Mutations - Please keep your powers different from canons, unless you are somehow related. Please make your mutations interesting. I don't want to be bored out of my mind and fall asleep reading about your ability to turn ice into water. Pyro can do that easier then you. Hell, the Hulk probably can too.

* Codenames - Research canon code names! I will not allow an original character to have the same codename as a canon. There is a list of canons on the site, please refer to that too. Poor Morph always gets his name stolen, and he's getting very emo because of it. For Morph's sake, make your own.

* Brotherhood/Villains - Not all the Brotherhood characters are depressed. Some are rather happy and full of jokes, so please don't make all of them depressed, with terrible lives. A few just enjoy being evil. Go figure.

* Age - Not everyone is a teenager, deal with it.

* Manifestation - No powers until puberty, however: physical mutations are allowed at birth. (We don't need any five year old psychics.)

* Boohoo, my childhood sucked! - Shut up. Not every one has a bad history. You have to have at least a few good memories, and if you don't, get a therapist. Jeez.

* Telepaths can be no stronger then Xavier.

Posting Rules

* Typos - First off, I understand everyone makes mistakes and I'm not going to hate you for it. I do ask that you to try and make your posts as perfect as they can be.

* Interest - I want good posts, not posts that drive people to sleep. No three page long posts about doing dishes unless you can make it interesting or you just happen to be Mickey Mouse. Please write at least two paragraphs per post. If you want to write more go for it.

* Starter Posts - Please keep the numbers of starters low. If there are five or more boards that are only starters, please post to them. This will keep role play flowing.

* Plots - Plots are both the responsibility of the players and the Admin. The Admin on this site are open to ideas, but when it comes to site-wide events, their word is final.

* Random Events -Yes, we are cruel people. Random events happen at random and can be anything from a point increase, to sentinels to even an STD or pregnancy. (Told you to be careful about Twinkie Time.)

Battle Rules

* For every post in battle you get three attacks and two blocks.

* If powers are in use, then you have one attack and one block.

Graphics

* Signatures - Signatures tend to be fun, but some people over size them. Please kept within 200 x 400 pixels.

* Character Images - These can not be anime, this is not an anime site. Canon characters should use comic book style art images or come up with a very close photograph. Photographs for both canon and original can be anyone from a person on the street to a movie star.

* Graphic Requests - If you make a board to ask for a graphic, be patient. Not everyone can make a graphics and not everyone has the time to make them right away.

Activity

* Sign up - You have week to sign on after you have been accepted if not you get deleted.

* Deletion - If you a deleted for inactivity you can reapply. It's your responsibility to come and check in and tell us what is going on. If you don't you suffer the injury.

* Activity Checks - Activity checks will start around mid-month and end in a week later. This will give you about one week to post. Failure to post will result in deletion. There will be notification in the briefing room, and posted as often as it can be in the cbox
