Hi-ho! Welcome to the World of Court Records RPGing! Yay!

But "HOLD IT!" Before you start RPGing there's some important stuff you should know...

Here's a basic rundown of Trial procedure. PLEASE READ THE REST OF THE THREAD AS WELL, this is just for quick reference:

-Step 1: Post your idea for a trial IN THIS THREAD.
-Step 2: A mod will reply. PM them with any extra details (or spoilers), and they will either approve your idea, or ask you fix some things.
-Step 3: Once you've been approved, start a new thread in the Trials section to get people to sign up for your trial.
-Step 4: Once you have all your players, start a thread in the Court House to begin your trial.

In detail:

• USE THIS THREAD TO REQUEST AN RPG

Yar... Kinda harsh but really. We can't have all 600 of you users making a New RPG 'cause ya feel like it. This also will help us rout out the stupid ones before they start... ONLY REPLY TO THIS THREAD WITH RP SUGGESTIONS.

• NO MORE THEN 5 RPGS AT ANY GIVEN TIME

'Possibly one of the more flexible rules. 5 is a suggestion... not really written in stone. But it's a solid number I've seen work purty well. We can do more if we need to.

• THINK YOUR CASE OUT BEFORE YOU MAKE A REQUEST

Possibly one of the hardest things to do in the RPGs... considering Phoenix Wright for the DS only had 5 cases. Short but memorable... But I'm getting sidetracked...

You should really get a good angle of what sort of crime you want to have had commited and by whom.

Here are some good resources...• MAKE A THREAD IN THIS BOARD FOR SIGNUPS

It's a pain once you've got the loot the evidence and the warrant... but don't see Carmen Sandiago anywheres. So, once you're authorized to start your RPG... make a thread in this board asking people to sign up for particular roles. You as the lord of the RPG have free reign over who you let in and what your policies are in the RPG... just try it make it fun for everyone? 'k thanks.

Suggested Roles that Might need to be filled...
  • Lawyer
  • Attorney
  • Defendant
  • Prosecution (Optional)
  • Judge
  • Witness (Flexible)
  • Aid (Optional)
  • Jury (Who needs'um?)
• PHOENIX WRIGHT ISN'T OBLIGATED TO BE THE LAWYER

He can be the murderer and/or Judge as far as I'm concerned. Feel free to break this rule as you see fit, but 'just 'cause your Avatar is one role doesn't mean ya have to follow it. It might be fun to watch Chinami act as the Judge, or Von Karma as the Defense Lawyer...

• RPG ETTIQUTE (SP)

Yar... be nice. God Modding is a big and let me repeat that... BIG no-no. Remember, you're playing with other people. So let them tug the story.

It 'might' also be a good idea to PM your crimminals and witnesses what they saw/did, again not an obligitory rule... but something to think about regardless.. Be flexible give them enough leeway to move the story along on their own... but don't leave them hanging. And RPG can die if no one knows what sort of crime they commited... unless amnesia is a part of it...

• SPEED

Okay... one of the things that can scare off potential RPGers... is that some RPGs go WAY-WAY-WAY too fast... I mean... we're all fans here... but some of us have school and life to care about too. So be nice and don't prejudicise plz? Anyways... If appropriate... the RPG Master has the right to decide how fast people can post. Courts are big things and things can get lost even faster than traditional FF style RPGs if the Witness can't post more then 2 times per day.

So when doing the sign ups, RPG Master has to say how often he expects people to post. If it's free for all that's well and good. It'll let the slower posters keep out for a bit. If he puts a cap of some sort, it'd be nice if you people could keep some sort of self control.

That is all!

Edit: fixed most of the typos. --Anders

Okay, this board is moving a little slow... So I might as well make my own proposal... Though I am personally un able to host it until my life comes back together...

But anyways... You guys have played Chrono Trigger Right?

Well, in case you haven't there's a cool court proceeding in it. I was thinking a sort of phoenix wright re-enactment of the case might be cool. I still have to figure out the details but yeah...

And I'm gonna request that it be a moderatly slow pased RPG, as I can't particilate in a full pased one... unless some one else is interested in hosting it.

This seems difficult. I wonder how people would RP in this sort of RPG? Hn, so something like...

Case Description

Crime: Homicide
Autopsy Report: Victim was killed sometime between 8:15-8:30 PM, February 11th. Suffered from one broken bone, but died of suffocation.
Reason for Suspicion: Suspect was seen fleeing the home of the defendant at this time after a loud crash and screaming coming from the home, and ran away when apprehended by a passerby.

Victim: Open
Defendant/Suspect: CLOSED - Ryuuichi
Defense: CLOSED - TranceMachina
Aids:: Open (May play a larger role)
Prosecution: CLOSED - Apeman1813
Judge: Open
Detective: CLOSED - Levia
Witness #1: The passerby. Apprehended the suspect before going inside of the house and finding the victim's corpse. Open
Witness #2: The victim's neighbor. Saw the suspect push the victim down a flight of stairs after a heated argument. Then saw the suspect strangle the victim. Immediately ran to phone the police. Open
Witness #3: The victim's sibling. Lived with the victim. Was awakened from a nap by yelling, followed by a crashing noise and screaming. Immediately went to see what was going on. Open

An orange "open" means it's not a vital position. It's also not meant to be difficult to figure out, or maybe even RPed XD; Just trying this system out.

RARRR YOU'RE DOING IT AGAIN.

Please READ the rules!!

QUOTE
ONLY REPLY TO THIS THREAD WITH RP SUGGESTIONS.

You do not reply to this thread to volunteer to witness. You do not reply to this thread with "lol." You reply to this thread with Your suggestion for a trial so that it can be approved.

Which is why I'm deleting the unnecessary posts.

Levia, your Trial is approved. Please create a separate thread where people can reply to volunteer for roles. When you've got enough, you can create a thread in the Courtroom. If you want, a mod can be assigned to keep an eye on the thread and help you control the trial.

Thank you.

I have an idea

Case Description

Crime: Homicide
Autopsy Report: Victim stabbed with a knife in the heart. Death at between 4:00 and 5:00 AM. Instant death
Reason for Suspicion: In an hotel, the suspect was seeing leaving the victim's room.A witness entered the room after seeing that man and found the victim dead

Every position ( 3 witness) open besides Defense Attorney (Sign ups not here. I read the rules)

Phoenix Wright, your RP is approved (and thank you for reading the rules biggrin.gif). Please make a new topic for sign-ups.

If you'd like a mod assigned to help watch over the case, you can PM me with the trial details.

Good luck and have fun!

Oh, and Wooster, I forgot to reply to yours ohmy.gif I know you're not around right now, but I think it's a cool idea. (Of course, as admin you could have approved yourself XD) I always loved the trial sequence in CT. Lemme know when you've worked it out!

Umm, I'm planning to do actually do this after the first case finishes, but I have a feeling it might take a while for it just to get started so I'll just go ahead post my case idea here and try to get this one started

[bgcolor=red]Case Sumary[/bgcolor]

Classification: FU-2 biggrin.gif

Defendant: Claims he was given note on when and where to meet the victim and a key with a room number tag on it, which he found in his apartment by the mail slip in his door. He admits to cheating his girlfriend with her but doesn’t admit to the murder and claims he only found victim. Works as a bouncer at The Talking Parrot from 8 PM to 2 AM on certain nights, but was not working that night.

Autopsy Report: Victim was stabbed once in the stomach. The victim died between 8:20 to 9:20 PM. The victim approximately had 20 minutes to live be fore her stab wound would cause her to die due to loss of blood. The victim was found with the knife still in her stomach, tied to the bed with rope, and was gagged with a gag ball.

Reason for Suspicion: Had a witness seeing the defendant rushing/fleeing the crime scene.

I've got backround info on all the characters already (except the lawyers, judge, and detective), but I was the RPers to figure provide names, age, and moods for the characters. This one is gonna be interesting, trust me cool.gif

Apeman, just because you mentioned bondage and gag balls, I have to ask...this isn't going to be too much of an adult themed trial, is it? I'm a little concerned that you make it sound like some kind of sexual violence is involved which might not be appropriate for this forum.

If you could, please PM me with more details of the actual murder, just so I can make a better judgement.

I don't mean to be prudish (PW is a game about murder, after all, and I don't have a problem with adult themes), but we do have a lot of young members on this board ^^;;.

Here's Mine:
Case Description: Victim was last seen at G. Howard High School after the lunch bell rang at 12:00 noon. Victim was going into back room to get materials for next class. Victim was found dead at 12:45 in a pool of blood, apparently stabbed repeatedly with a broken beaker. Defendant's locker was found to contain a bloody, broken beaker during an inspection after the discovery. Defendant arrested on the scene.

I'm wondering if it is okay to post multiple topics for multiple scenes of my case (when my case is completey and moves to the Court House) or do you want me to keep it all in one massive topic?

I would prefer keeping each trial in one topic, unless it becomes obscenely large...like over 10 pages or something.

Unless you're splitting up your trial into different days. In that case, you can make another thread for the second day.

Damn, I was hoping to split it up by each location (which probably end up as like 10 topics now that I think about it). But different days will work too I guess... thanks though.
